Heavenly Father, anything good or praiseworthy in me is simply a reflection of the abiding presence of Your Holy Spirit. I want to grow in Your grace and knowledge, and will do so if You are preeminent in my life. That means You will reign supreme and be of first importance to me, having greater influence than any other person or cause. I want to walk in humility today as I pray, “Jesus, must become greater in my life, I must become less.” I ask You to be at the center of my thoughts, my attitudes, and my actions so that Your preeminence is seen in all I do and say. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and caring for me. As I have come to know You and know Your ways my life has changed. But what I also have noticed is, when I lean on my own understanding I fall prey to thinking in the natural and limit the work of the supernatural. When I trust You with all my heart I leave no room for second guessing. Today I want to acknowledge Your presence in every area of my life…family, work, relationships, health, intellect and every other area of my life. You will bring to pass the plans You have for me as I wholeheartedly trust You for all that concerns me and those I love. Thank You Jesus for making all this possible. I love You and I pray this prayer in Your precious name. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we approach another new year, we are so very thankful for all the blessings we enjoyed over the past year of 2018. There were many opportunities for rejoicing and plenty of opportunities for trusting. Your mercies are renewed daily and Your provision is experienced in our lives each moment of every day. We seek You for guidance in the new year and growth in our daily Christian walk. Though we cannot know the future we can have assurance of Your faithfulness because You are a God that does not change. Every promise You’ve made is true as we have seen in the Biblical records. This gives us reason to trust You for the dawning of a new year where we will once again experience Your guiding presence in our daily lives. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, all over the world Your Spirit is moving. And You move through people such as the shepherds who told all they knew concerning the Christ Child. Two thousand years later we have so much more knowledge and experiences to share with those around us because we have the Word of God that shows Your divine character and tells us of Your great and miraculous deeds. Your choice to enter this earth in such a lowly and timely manner is a story that not only the shepherds were commissioned to go out and tell, but it is the commission of all believers to spread this amazing story. It’s not just for the people of Jerusalem or simply a segment of our society or a select period of time in history. Instead Christ’s coming affects people of all tongues, tribes, and nations, from the north to the south, from the east to west – all who will call upon the Lord Jesus to be saved. Help us to be bold and unwavering in our quest to reach the lost and dying world in which we live. Thank You Jesus for loving us so much to make this all possible. It is through You that we ask this prayer. Amen. Heavenly Father, though we are a couple days after the day we celebrate our Saviors birth, I believe everyday we should be remember how the Savoir of the world came and how the prophetic message given by Isaiah came to pass. Father God, we’re so thankful for Jesus whose infant birth took place in a smelly stable and whose bed was a feeding trough padded with stubbly straw and hay. It was certainly not a celebratory setting for the infant born King but we can now see the stable as a composite of this unwelcoming world toward King Jesus. We’re so glad that He was willing to come to earth though He would be rejected by the vast majority from every generation. Yet we gratefully number among those who receive Him as our personal Savior. We thank You that He came to deliver us from our fears and release us from our sins. Through Your own eternal Spirit rule in our hearts today and raise us to Your glorious throne on Your appointed day. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we sing to you, “Glory to God In the Highest”! The Latin expression the angels echoed from the heavens, “Gloria in excelsis deo” is also the refrain from our hearts this Christmas season. Although more than 2,000 years have passed since that glorious announcement was hailed to the shepherds in the fields, we continue to sing its refrain in our celebration of Your wondrous birth. May we never cease to be in awe and wonder of Your coming to earth to become the Son of Man that we could become sons of God! Only by Your wondrous grace can we can claim to be Your heirs. We thank You Lord and we pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, how grateful we are that Jesus came into this world to save sinners; to turn despair to hope, darkness to light, and death to life. All that we have need of and presently rely on is supplied for us in abundance from Your generous Hand. You are worthy of our trust and deserving of our fully surrendered life. From the cradle to the cross Jesus is Lord of Heaven and Lord of earth. We celebrate the birth of Your Son, Jesus, our Savior, and give thanks for all that He means to us. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the angels’ announcement to the shepherds is the same announcement heralded in the hearts of men and women, boys and girls who choose to accept Christ as their Lord, “A Savior has been born to you.” We set Him apart in our hearts from the common, ordinary things of life, for He is the Master of not only the universe, but He chooses to reign in our lives. We’re so grateful for His completed mission on earth where He was rocked in a holy cradle, ridiculed on a hostile cross and restored through His Heavenly coronation. “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace!” dwell in our hearts we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the birth of Jesus, over 2000 years later, continues to fill the hearts of Your people, both young and old, with joy and excitement. But this baby is not like any other baby since Jesus was born to people from every tribe, tongue and nation. “In Him the fullness of the Creator dwells completely. On Him the world pins its hopes and dreams. Through Him we have access to You, our Father. To Him we offer our praise and thanksgiving. For Him we seek to do His work in the world. About Him we want to tell as many people as possible. With Him we reach out to others, offering them what Jesus came to give – forgiveness and peace with God!”* Truly, it is Good News for all the people, that Jesus came to seek and to save that which is lost, which includes me. Thank You for coming to earth for me and I ask in Your precious name. Amen. |
