Heavenly Father, many times Scripture that speaks of waiting on You is followed by the directive of being courageous. Indeed it does take courage for me to trust You and not take matters into my own hands since that comes so naturally to my way of thinking and doing things. But as a loving, protecting and omnipotent Father You tenderly care for me as I commit my concerns to You. My unbelief and impatience leads to fearsome worry and unwise behavior. Getting ahead of Your divine plan and perfect timing only leads to more frustration and difficulty. Help me to remember that waiting coupled with prayer brings about growing courage and dependence on You rather than myself. I ask and thank You in Jesus name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we know that living in the light of eternity gives us an unending hope that surpasses our journey here below. It takes our spirit to heights that soar beyond the brutish world we live in and motivates us to lay up our treasures in heaven where greed and corruption do not exist. It gives us a deep, settled peace that our loved one who walked with You on earth now worships You in heaven. We anxiously await that wondrous day when we will be joined with our loved ones in giving praise, glory and honor to our everlasting King of Kings around the heavenly throne. Our hearts are encouraged and our spirit is strengthened as we meditate on these wonderful future events. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we invite the presence of Your Holy Spirit to dominate our hearts so that every attitude and belief will be submitted to Your Spirit that resides within. The ongoing struggle we encounter with Satan’s desire to dominate us is overcome by the precious, wonder-working blood of the Lamb. Sin seeks to steal our integrity, but Your righteousness upholds it. We intercede on behalf of loved ones who are held captive by sin, that they will lay aside their garments stained with sin and be washed anew in the cleansing fountain of Your precious blood. In Jesus name we thank and ask. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray that we will continue to mature in our Christian walk today and everyday. Scripture, repeatedly, indicates that spiritual maturity is a result of enduring trials of various kinds. In the midst of these trials Your faithful promptings and guidance through Scripture, other believers, and the circumstances we face can be ignored or silenced when self gets in the way. Today I pray that all that read this prayer will make every effort to add to our faith those characteristics that will sustain and grow us in our Christian walk. In doing so we will be effective and productive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, during times of ease but even more so during times of difficulty. Keep us faithful and growing, and expressing thanks in everything, according to the Scripture, “In all things give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward You.” In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, You are a good Father. You have given me many treasures that cannot be bought with money and friendship is among them. I thank You for the special friends who brighten my outlook and challenge me to be a better person. Thank You for my caring friend who loves me and never gives up on me even when I feel like giving up on myself. For that dear friend who comes alongside me and helps carry the burdens that I bear, I am especially thankful. My life is enriched and my spirit is refreshed as I share my heart with a close friend who does not criticize but accepts my frailties; who prays for me and expresses love for me in ways that build me up and strengthen me in the trials of life. Father, You are the greatest and most trusting Friend that I will ever know so help me to draw near to You so that You draw near to me. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we know that You don't look at the outward appearance, but You look at our hearts to see if we are willing and obedient to You. To authenticate that we are truly Your children, You make us heirs with You and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in Christ’s sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory. Our glorious eternal inheritance does not come without our participation in the temporal suffering believers are called upon to endure here on earth. We may have to endure mockery and persecution. It may be physical affliction or great financial restraints. We may lose the love and devotion of those whom we hold dear when we take an unyielding stand for You. No matter the price and no matter the suffering may it teach us more about Your decrees and the glory of our suffering for Christ. It is in His name that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray for men that they will pursue godliness above all earthly pursuits. We pray that they will resist the temptation to fall into the devil’s trap where foolishness and harmful desires will plunge them to ruin resulting in distrust, loss and heartache. Help them to flee from all this and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Help them to lead their families in the good fight of faith as they take hold of eternal life. Make them strong in their faith so that they throw away anything that hinders their spiritual walk. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for this day You have made and I pray for an attitude of thankfulness like Paul wrote about where I give thanks in everything. In doing so I deliberately look for the blessings right in the midst of a trial and see beauty where once there was ashes. You also help me to see the everyday blessings others bring to my life in ways that I would otherwise lack; the postwoman who delivers my mail; the garbage collector who picks up my trash; the employer who provides a paycheck; the medical team that responds to my critical need; the church family You have given me that provides loving support during a time of crisis; the faithful family member that keeps vigil until the loved one passes from here to glory. I am thankful for the homeless and down and out that You have brought int our lives and home and for the good work You have done in them. All of these and so much more make up the everyday events of life that make living more loving and memories more lasting. May we be grateful instead of grumbling, givers instead of takers, loving instead of indifferent, and thankful to those who make a positive contribution to our daily living. Thank You Lord and in Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we give praise to You we are offering our heartfelt thanks for who You are and all that You do on our behalf. As we mature in our Christian walk we realize that there are many occasions when we must offer a sacrifice of praise since it doesn’t always come easily nor often enough. It is in those circumstances that we willfully choose to praise You out of obedient hearts desirous of pleasing You and glorifying Your name. May our words be fruitful and our thoughts praiseworthy In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are good and worthy of our praise. We want to praise You “from the first bright light of morning to the last warm glow of dusk” as the old hymn says. Every breath that we take is sacred, for it is Your gift to us. In the season of our plenty and in the season of our want we find Your grace sufficient, for we find Your love complete. Safe within Your hand You guide us, hiding us in Your healing wings. Day by day Your love provides us every good and perfect thing. We thank You for it all in the precious name of Jesus. Amen. |
