Heavenly Father, we want to be used of You to bless others and encourage them in their spiritual walk. Help us to be sensitive to Your Spirit’s leading when there are words of guidance, caution or even correction that we are to share with our brother or sister. Help us to be careful messengers of Your truth, grace, and reproof. Help us also to be grateful recipients when You use other godly messengers to speak to us about matters which we ignore, misuse, or are blinded to. May we all do our part in building up the body for which Christ gave His life. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Your purpose in my life, Lord, is seen in a multitude of ways; whether it is in my vocational training; in the way I raise my children; in the relationships I engender or in the way I use my gifts to touch other lives. But Your purpose in my life is most visible to others in my response to heartache, betrayal, disappointment, suffering, and loss. Your purpose can be seen when I choose not to repay evil for evil, but rather good for evil. Lord, as I keep Your purpose for my life always before me I will remember that much good spiritual fruit can be developed in me in the ups and downs I encounter daily. May I be faithful in making choices today that reflect Your purpose in my life. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we find pleasure and fulfillment in our work when we work at it heartily, as for You, primarily. We thank You for giving us the wherewithal to provide an income for our family where our financial needs are met. Certainly each workplace has its challenges, but as we look to You for strength, endurance and wisdom to deal with those challenges we find joy, thanksgiving, and fulfillment in our work. May others see heaven sent joy flow from our lives as we spread mutual respect and a strong work ethic in the workplace. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You have called on us, Your children, to be reliable in giving a solid witness of our faith in You. We are to live godly lives so that we faithfully model that which we also teach to our children and all whom we are privileged to influence. We realize that there is no neutral position; we either live for You or we live for the world. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus as we journey below so that we fulfill the calling to be faithful and influence others for the kingdom of God. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, from scriptures I find that the race You’ve marked out for us doesn’t require nearly as much physical stamina as it does spiritual endurance. Those who are physically weak due to disease, illness, and aging are just as qualified to run as those who have young athletic bodies. It’s a spiritual race where You call us to perseverance as we discard those things that would trip us up, lead us on a disastrous detour or a total defeat. The great cloud of witnesses spur us on; those from the Biblical period, throughout history, and from our own generation. But above all we thank You, Jesus, that You endured the cross and all the suffering that accompanied it, being spurred on by the joy You knew that would be Yours afterward. You cheer us on by Your own example and by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit that sustains us in our struggle against sin. Keep us faithful to the finish line as it is an entry way into a life unentangled by any form of sin in the perfect world God created for us. In Jesus name I ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we don’t pray for a life of ease since we know that virtues listed in Scripture are often refined in our lives through the challenges, the overcomings, the mistakes and the hours we spend in prayer seeking You above all else. May the nature of Christ be much more visible than our human nature so that we are truly a reflection of Your image that is stamped deep in our hearts. We desire to “follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness” so that we are truly fruitful in our pursuit of holiness. Amen. Heavenly Father, we know that pursuing friendship with the world puts us at enmity with You. The world which we inhabit is perishable and sin-based, while the heaven we pursue is imperishable and free of sin. Help us, in the daily choices we make, to keep pressing on the upward way, gaining new heights in our Christian walk, as we stretch toward the goal of the prize of the high calling we have in Christ Jesus, in Whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are so thankful that we can call upon You in this age of lawlessness. Because Your Spirit resides within us we will not be overcome by evil, but we will overcome evil with good. We will also keep the biblical perspective that instructs us, “We ought to obey God rather than man”. May the principles from Scripture inform our thoughts and motivate our hearts to obey You, our loving Savior, by keeping the moral laws detailed in Scripture foremost in our mind, lest we too easily embrace the man-made laws that are an affront to Your prescribed law. Even so, we desire to be Your instrument of mercy and peace to those around us. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen. Heavenly Father, we ask for clean hands, a pure mind, and a steadfast heart that follows hard after You. Temptation regularly knocks at our door, but with Your Holy Spirit residing within, we have the will and desire to turn it away. We don’t want even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, or anything considered improper for Your holy people. It is through Christ that we can live a life above reproach that daily seeks to honor You and influence others for Your kingdom. We ask and give thanks in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, everything we see or touch with our hands has a shelf life and eventually wears out or is destroyed. Our family members and the people we hold dear to our hearts in time also depart from our lives. But when we contemplate thoughts of eternity we are filled with inexhaustible praise as we consider that You, O Lord, reign forever. Of your kingdom there will be no end. We’ll gather with our dear brothers and sisters from all over the world, from every tribe, tongue and nation to exalt the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. There will no longer be the separation due to distance, combat, culture, or language but we will be one mighty chorus singing heavenly praises to our faithful Father whose divine kingdom has no end. At that appointed hour, upon seeing You face to face, we will declare together with all the saints and heavenly hosts, “Forever You are faithful!” In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
