Heavenly Father, Your saving kindness has appeared for the benefit of all people. It trains us to avoid ungodly lives filled with worldly desires so that we can live self-controlled, moral, and godly lives in this present world. Hallelujah! Lord, we confess that we can be impatient and judgmental toward those who reject You time and again. We’ve come to realize that we can’t live without You but the unbeliever feels he or she has no need for You. It seems we’re worlds apart in our outlook. Use this passage from Jude to speak to our hearts about applying Your mercy to those who are not of the faith. They do not see through eyes of faith, but are blinded to spiritual truth. Jude also reminds us that while we must embrace the sinner in mercy and love, we must never embrace or endorse the sin. The allurement to sin is always before us, so we ask You to keep us safe, as we set up safeguards, while reaching out to those caught in sin’s entrapment. Father, we don’t want to be complacent but want to be spiritually burdened with the critical need of reaching those who doubt the Gospel message of salvation. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, each day that passes seems to bring more darkness, more corruption and it seems like the church is being persecuted more, day by day. I am grateful that I have Jesus for my Lord and Savoir and my Good Shepherd. Jesus has a special care for the lambs that are weak and cannot help themselves, gathering them into the arms of His power and carrying them in the bosom of His love. Lord, we thank You that You give strength to the weary and You increase the power of the weak. Though youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, those who hope in You will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Our wisdom, strength and discipline come from You who generously provides for all our needs. We ask that you would especially strengthen all who may be dealing with compassion fatigue as they deal with human needs all over the world in the Name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, when I read the words that Jesus said in Matthew chapter seven, I wonder if people really take it seriously. Lord God, through Your righteous narrow gate we enter into the Christian journey. And with Your help and by Your mercy we will also stay the course. How grateful we are to be among those who enter since Jesus said “only a few will find it.” At times there is a compulsion to be aligned with the masses who walk the broad way because it is more acceptable to others and easier to align with those around us. But we know the end result will be eternal damnation later, lack of peace here and now, and friendship with the enemy of our soul. Help us to remain faithful to You, zealous in our Christian walk, and ever mindful of those we need to bring along with us on the narrow path. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your Word is medicine to my flesh. Also, just like my body needs food to nourish it, my soul needs spiritual food and Your Word is the food that it needs. Lord, we don’t want to merely listen to Your Word and so deceive ourselves thinking that we have fulfilled the law of Christ. Instead we want to listen and apply Your truths, thereby obeying Your commands and honoring You in all we think, say and do. Take Your truth, plant it deep in us; shape and fashion us in Your likeness so that the light of Christ will be seen in us through our acts of love, our deeds of faith, and our words of truth. Fulfill in us Your purposes for Your own glory and honor we pray. Lord, I pray that each one that reads this today understands just how important it is to be in Your Word on a daily basis and not only that, but to believe, in faith. Father, I thank You and I pray this in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, help me with my thoughts, actions and the words I speak. Even though I live here on earth I don't want to live like the world. The enemy is so crafty and he is so sneaky. Lord, we know that Satan is a thief who “comes only to steal and kill and destroy” and millions fall victim to his enticements. Knowing our inclination to sin, help us to honor our bodies in such a way that we don’t purposefully arouse lust in others by our dress or behavior, nor do we feed on lust by gazing upon that which is dishonorable in Your sight. We desire purity and holiness as we daily pursue Your righteousness. Forgive us where we have resented, ignored, or disobeyed Your truths in this area of our lives. Let us have the mind of Christ and act upon it. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, just as You have been having me teach on Wednesday nights, Jesus is real to each person, if they do what He says. When we obey, then He will manifest Himself to us. Your commands do not come with a question mark nor are they intended to provoke debate as to whether we think it in our best interest to follow or reject. Your commands are for our good and your provisions are all that we have need of. Just as you supplied the Israelites manna for food, fire by night, and the cloud by day You lead and provide for us through every season of our life, during the plenty and during the barren times. You are enough for all that we have need of, the greatest need of all being met through Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, who died that we might live forever. Thank You! Amen. Heavenly Father, we ask You to help us with the race we are to run. There is a fight to fight and we need to keep in mind that this is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world. Lord, we thank You for Jesus’ death on our behalf making it possible for us to be forgiven and walk in newness of life. Our sin nature no longer dominates, but our spiritual nature becomes the driving force behind our thoughts, our actions, and our conversation. In earnest we seek to bring forth abundantly good fruit which brings praise and glory to You, Father. Seeking personal attention, applause, or praise for our fruit would be gratifying the desires of our sin nature turning our good fruits into rotting, infested, and stench-filled fruit fit only for the waste pile. Because we love righteousness and loathe sinfulness we never want to live the reverse order again. Help us when we do fall and uphold us so we can stand against the enemy and not lapse into doing things the “old familiar” way. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, help us to be unwavering in our faith. It seems in this pluralistic society that many people waver between two opinions, therefore dividing their loyalties. Elijah challenged the people of his day, “If the Lord is God, follow Him”. Help me to thirst and hunger for Your Living Word where I find convincing truths to assure me, “This is the way. Walk in it.” I want to keep my heart fixed upon You and my mind certain of Your truths in this age where false religions abound and the broad way continues to widen. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and I gain entry to You, my Father, only through Jesus the Son. I’ve got a made up mind and I’m going to follow You during the good and the bad times, the lean and plentiful periods. Whether I stand with many or stand alone, I choose to wholeheartedly follow You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You promise to never leave us nor forsake us. We hear that from people that claim the same thing and never come through, but we know You cannot lie. You also tell us to be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Yourself. Lord, we thank You for the way You bless Your people. You richly provide for our needs and supply us with hope that is not diminished by the circumstances of this world. We want to share from our spiritual and material abundance so that we lay up treasure for ourselves in the eternal life that is promised to all believers. Make us aware of opportunities to enrich others with the blessings we receive from You every day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, "You, Lord, You alone are Lord; You made the heavens and the stars of the sky. You made land and sea and everything in them; You gave life to all. The heavenly powers bow down and worship You.You declare through the Psalmist that everything that has breath is to give You the praise, and so we respond by saying, “Praise the Lord!” Though we know in our spirit that You reign supreme and nothing misses Your attention, traveling here below in this sin-filled, troubled world we can easily lose sight of You, our Lord God omnipotent who reigns over the affairs of Your creation. Today we exalt Your name, give You the praise that is due, by rejoicing in who You are and giving You the glory due Your name. Be exalted, O Lord, among the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
