Jesus, thank You for dying in my place on the cross! Just like Barabbas, I am the truly guilty and You are the sinless One who demonstrated Your own love for me when You died for me while I was dead in my trespasses and sins. Just as You were lifted up on the cross, and just as You were raised up from the dead, You lifted the weight of sin from my guilt-ridden shoulders when I turned to You in forgiveness. Not only did You pay off my sin debt but the incredible, unearned bonus is that You also gave me the gift of eternal life. I am amazed when I consider Your extraordinary love for me. Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all. Amen. It's easy to be critical of Peter who so boldly asserted that he would never deny Christ, but did so within hours and at such a critical moment. Yet Peter's actions help us to view the tender grace You poured out on him at his lowest moment. His bitterness dissolved into brokenness. You are close to the brokenhearted, and deliver those whose spirit has been crushed. It is so instructive and encouraging to know that weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Peter, a fearful failure who grew into a faithful follower, eventually gave his life for the cause of Christ. May we too have such a resolve to follow you even if it means we may lay down our life for You. Thank You for Your amazing grace that looks beyond our faults and sees our need. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Help me to walk uprightly and live more by faith, less by sight so that I don't come to rely only on that which I see with my eyes, but I listen for the voice of the indwelling Holy Spirit. In doing so I am far more likely to follow the truths and principles of Scripture as learned throughout the Holy Word of God. Help me to be faithful, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen. For those that would like to hear today's devotion, you can do that by going to our ministry YouTube channel: youtu.be/zq9sF9LrZ4w Heavenly Father, as we embrace the cross of Calvary and apply Christ's redemptive blood to our hearts we find newness of life. We are no longer bound by the chains that fettered us to sin. What great liberty and boundless joy to know that our names are written down in heaven. If we set our hearts on this world, or declare allegiance to those things which have no eternal merit, we will wear down and lose the joy that comes with newness of life. But as we set our hopes and joys on serving Christ, the joy of our salvation is ongoing, uplifting, and a testimony to all who seek answers that this world cannot provide. Like the early apostles may we, give testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Thank You for raising Christ from the dead so that we can be redeemed and walk in newness of life everyday! In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. For those that would like to hear today's devotion, you can do that by going to our ministry YouTube channel: youtu.be/G6D7TGNNX7w Heavenly Father, we pray for discernment, so that we make wise decisions since You warn us that deceivers have gone out into the world, and if we're not on our guard, we will be taken in by their deceptive ways. As we read Your Word we learn of those things that are true, honest, good, just and virtuous and we also learn of that which is false, destructive, and misleading. We learn how to detect the enemy though he or she may be dressed in sheep's clothing and even masquerade as a Christian. But in time their words and their works will reveal who they really are. Keep us on our guard so that we are not taken in by those who prey on undiscerning believers. Instead we want to expose the fruitless deeds of darkness and build up the Kingdom of God. It is in the name of Jesus that we pray for discernment. Amen. For those that would like to hear today's devotion, you can do that by going to our ministry YouTube channel: youtu.be/0P0ph_oQ1_k Heavenly Father, like the seven churches in Revelation, we too have strengths and weaknesses, in which we receive Your commendation and need Your correction. We want to be so yielded to Christ that we live for Him and are willing to die for Him. We pray for our brothers and sisters who are currently facing all kinds of torment, suffering, and loss as they stand firm in the faith. We pray that the Good News of Christ is reaching even more due to the persecuted church just as it has throughout the centuries. Those who work the hardest to dispense with the Gospel are now exposed to it through the bold witness of those being imprisoned and persecuted. Bibles, freedom, and personal rights may be withheld, but no ungodly official is able to quench Your Spirit that is very much alive in the hearts of those being persecuted for their faith. The Word of God concealed in their hearts gives them power from on high to thwart the enemy's plot to wipe out any trace of Christ's presence in their lives. Encourage our brothers and sisters as they endure for the sake of Christ and the gospel message. Prompt us by Your Holy Spirit to be faithful in prayer for them, that they will be released from their oppressors, and that their oppressors will come to faith. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. For those that would like to hear today's devotion, you can do that by going to our ministry YouTube channel: youtu.be/2wXHztZk_Bg Heavenly Father, how marvelous is Your indescribable grace that You should love a sinner such as I. Though I deserve death You grant eternal life through the death of Your beloved Son, Jesus. I am accepted into Your family, into the sainthood of all believers, through my redemption in Christ. So, too, I want to accept those who have turned to you in faith and obedience, who might be different, who break into my carefully etched out comfort zone. In doing so I learn how to be more loving and tolerant of others different than myself in a way that pleases and honors You. I come as a mix of Your love, mercy, and grace as I extend myself to others around me. In the name of Jesus, we pray Amen. For those that would like to hear today's devotion, you can do that by going to our ministry YouTube channel: youtu.be/LTpVrqHUAhM Heavenly Father, when we're tempted to be halfhearted in our vocational work or find ourselves bored by monotonous repetition help us to find creative means that will make us even more productive and content in our work assignments. May our conduct and attitude reflect values set forth in Scripture. Make us a blessing so that we bring joy to our co-workers, supervisors, customers and to the workplace in general. During times of personality conflict or when disagreements arise bring to our memory the Scripture that reminds us our primary motivation for being a good worker is that we are serving You when we are diligent in our work. Not only in our service do we want to do our best but we also ask You to keep our attitudes in check and our words uplifting in the work place. Help us to be quick to see another co-worker's need and respond accordingly. May we be slow to judge and finding fault with others. Prompt us to be faithful in prayer for our employers, supervisors, co-workers, customers and the business in which we serve. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. For those that would like to hear today's devotion, you can do that by going to our ministry YouTube channel: youtu.be/QlKbio1UpWw Heavenly Father, we may make our plans and are wise to plan ahead, but in the end You have the final say. Just like the farmer, in planning for an abundant harvest, he must prepare the soil and plant the seeds in faith that You will bring about the rain and sunshine to grow the vegetation. But throughout history there has been famine, pestilence, storms, and other destructive forces that shattered instead of rewarding the worker's efforts. Yet we also read that You have a greater purpose and so often it is calling people to repentance and reliance upon You. You also tap into the hidden reserve deep within our soul that sustains, energizes, and drives us beyond our normal abilities as we adapt our plans to Your will for our lives. Help us to remain faithful and trusting in the process. In Jesus name we ask and thank. Amen.
