Heavenly Father, what a tremendous blessing that the path of life leads upward for the wise. This path is certainly not the shortest, most traveled, or least difficult trail. There are times when the incline may be so steep it forces me to humbly kneel down before You, the Lord my Maker. Your strength is perfect when my strength is weak. It is a place where I realize it is no longer my strength but it is in Your perfect strength that I walk. It is no longer my plan but Your perfect plan that I follow. It is no longer my wisdom but Your perfect wisdom that instructs me. You give perfect direction and adequate strength to walk the upward path that leads to life everlasting. Thank You that I will never walk the path of life alone, for You lead the way as You make my feet like hind’s feet on high places. In the mighty name of Jesus I ask and thank. Amen.

Father God, You didn’t want heaven without us, so Jesus, You brought heaven down. Through Your sacrificial death You silenced the boast of sin and the grave. Though my sin was great, Your love was greater; and nothing can separate us now, for we are engraved on the palm of your hand. What a beautiful name it is, the name of Jesus, that at Your name every knee will bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord to the glory of God the Father. Thank You Jesus for Your willingness to lay Your life down for me and my sin and the sin of the world. I ask this prayer in Your glorious name. Amen. Heavenly Father, You have drawn us with an everlasting love; You show us Your lovingkindness day after day. Your bountiful provision gives to us material, physical and spiritual blessings that only a caring heavenly Father can give. But even though our cup overflows with Your goodness we face changes and challenges amidst our blessing. As we deal with the inevitable changes and the subsequent challenges that follow help us to make the life defining choice, like Joshua, and declare to all who will hear, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” I pray this prayer in the Mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, in a world filled with broken trusts resulting in broken lives, how comforted we are to know that You keep every promise You make. You heal the broken-hearted and bind up their wounds. You call us to Yourself, poor and needy, bruised and broken by the fall, and You stand ready to save us. We must doubt no more but fully trust You on the merit of the sinless blood which was shed for us through the death of Your Son, Jesus. We confess our brokenness and celebrate Your wholeness as we serve You in Your kingdom that is eternal. Praise Jesus and in His name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is commonly tempting to understand You in human terms and measure your worth such as Isaiah prolifically depicts in his prophetic book. When he describes the means by which we, Your created ones, go about measuring one’s abilities it falls enormously short of what You, in Your divine nature, have done and what You will do. We are unable to understand or appreciate all that You do because we are the finite created ones and You are the infinite Creator. There is nothing and no one who can compare with You. You are the most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious! It is Your great name that we praise! Amen. Heavenly Father, help us to learn Your commands, apply them to our hearts, and carry them out in our daily actions. We desire to be obedient to You and bring our children and grandchildren into a faithful relationship with You and fruitful service for your kingdom. We love You with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our strength. May our devotion bring honor to You and witness to others of our fervent commitment to serve You all the days of our lives. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when we consider the zeal and creative way the paralyzed man’s friends brought him to Jesus we’re challenged to do likewise. This man was helpless and unable to reach the Healer on his own, but Jesus healed and saved him through the effort and faith of his friends. They cared compassionately and the barriers did not stop them from bringing him to his only Hope. Help us to be persistent in reaching out to those whose only hope for salvation or healing is by bringing them to Christ in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are very grateful for the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives; thankful especially for the convicting work of the Spirit that enables us to see our need for salvation. You provide guidance, comfort, correction, and strength through the work of the Spirit that resides within our hearts. Not only are we prompted and led by Your Spirit, but we consider those who are sensitive to the Spirit’s leading, who have come to us in our time of need and helped to restore our strength or helped clarify Your leading in our lives. May we also be willing messengers of Your Holy Spirit as we serve You day in and day out. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, so often when we go through difficulties we seek knowledge about how to deal with the matter, we get other’s advice, and we learn from others who’ve had the same or similar experience as ourselves. As believers, we’ve often found ourselves saying, “We’ll just have to trust the Lord.” But, then we’re reminded that’s the first thing we should do rather than the last resort in dealing with problems we can’t fix. Help us, in whatever circumstance we’re dealt, to serve You with all our heart and place our full trust in You to care for us and vindicate us, like Joseph who was described as a fruitful vine. Help us also to be fruitful so that we bring refreshment to those within our influence, choosing to return good for evil, and shining light in dark places. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the words that Jesus spoke to the chief priests upon His arrest, “This is your hour, when darkness reigns” would days later turn into the finest hour on the Christian calendar. Torture and death did not have the final say, for darkness dissipated and light broke through as Jesus rose from the tomb. We are joyful and victorious as we walk in this newness of life provided through the death and resurrection of our Savior. We are also reminded that evil and death have no permanent hold over us, for the former things have lost their power because Jesus defeated our greatest enemy. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift of salvation. Amen. |
