Heavenly Father, in this dark and dying world there are numerous subject matters that are troubling to the believer as darkness continues to spread throughout our land. For me, it is a blessing to know that the darkness of sin cannot overcome the light of Truth revealed through Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, the Life. But we, as believers, must be very careful not to distort, dilute, or digress from Your Biblical instruction. Help us Lord to live our lives according to Your Word. Help us to bring the gospel message of Jesus Christ to those that are lost. Help us to live our lives as true followers of Jesus. I pray that each one that follows this prayer will be a follower of Jesus and not just a fan. We ask that those walking in darkness will see the light of Christ shining through us. It is in Jesus’ name that we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, when we are angry You tell us to stay above the fray and sin not. There are times when it is appropriate to be angry such as when we see a person harming another individual; when we have been lied to, when we have been unfairly accused or when we see the rotting decay around us due to the forces of evil. These circumstances along with many others stir up strong emotions with us and often require a response to the matter. Keep us prayerful as we are quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. May we respond as Jesus did to His many accusers, though innocent, He spoke not a word in His defense. And may we be careful not to keep a scoreboard of other’s offenses. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus who forgives us and does not count our sins against us, but rather took them upon Himself. Amen. Heavenly Father, when we’re tempted to be halfhearted in our vocational work or find ourselves bored by monotonous repetition help us to find creative means that will make us even more productive and content in our work assignments. May our conduct and attitude reflect values set forth in Scripture. Make us a blessing so that we bring joy to our co-workers, supervisors, and to the workplace in general. During times of personality conflict or when disagreements arise bring to our memory the Scripture that reminds us our primary motivation for being a good worker is that we are serving You when we are diligent in our work. Not only in our service do we want to do our best but we also ask You to keep our attitudes in check and our words uplifting in the work place. Help us to be quick to see another co-worker’s need and respond accordingly. May we be slow to judge and finding fault with others. Prompt us to be faithful in prayer for our employers, supervisors, co-workers, and the business in which we serve. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I am reminded this morning of the warning that Jesus gave to Peter. "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." Lord, I want to be vigilant in equipping myself today as I battle the spiritual forces of evil. Though I wage war in this present and evil generation I have a body guard in the presence of the Holy Spirit who gives me power over the enemy of my soul. Today, I stand against the devil’s schemes because I take on the full armor of God; the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. As I prayerfully cover my vulnerable self with godly armor I am fully equipped with the necessary provisions to overcome discouragement, disappointment and seeming defeat. Instead I am an enduring conqueror who stands triumphant by Your grace, through our Lord Jesus Christ in whose name I pray! Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You for godly messengers who faithfully feed Your children by diligently teaching the whole counsel of Your Holy Word. Some attend church with an intense spiritual hunger, while others may come out of a sense of duty or to be seen by others. Give us a hungry heart that yearns for more of You so that our lives are set apart to honor and glorify Jesus Christ in all that we do. May we be attentive to Your life-transforming truths as You impart them to our hearts. And help us to always be self-controlled and alert. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, since You have given my wife and I this ministry, we have met so many wonderful people. We are so thankful for the brothers and sisters we’ve met on life’s highway both in person and online who’ve poured into us their time, zeal, wisdom, and love. And when we were unresponsive to their loving attention, they didn’t walk away but continued to pray and invest in our lives. 2017 I spent twice in the hospital and recouping at home where I couldn't spend the time behind the computer posting these prayers and delivering sermon messages twice a week. Lord, bless them for their diligence and obedience and compassion. We are so much better for it and are further motivated to reach out to the unlovely and those deemed for failure by the world. Help us to see people through Your eyes, Father, and recognize their inestimable worth. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, in the past 10 years, I have seen such a turn of events throughout the world and I have to remember the words of Jesus who said, “You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will be accused before kings and governors for being my followers. This will be your opportunity to tell them about me. So don’t worry about how to answer the charges against you, for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply.” Help us to stand up for righteousness and seek to glorify You in our attitude and in the words we speak should we undergo persecution, for we seek to be obedient to You, even unto death.” Thank You Jesus for setting the captives free. Thank you for the renewing of mind as I read scriptures and put more and more trust in You. We praise You and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we know that none of us are 100% humble, for we are clothed in these mortal, fallible bodies. But we do know that Jesus is the model of One completely humble in His humanity and divinity. He did not consider equality with You, our Father, something to be grasped but took on His personhood as a man and became obedient to death on the cross. We look to Him as the supreme example of humility and obedience. As we clothe ourselves in Your righteousness we can overcome the pride that is ever before us. We recognize that no good thing can come from us, but all that is good comes from You. Remind us daily that the attitude of gratitude is the antidote for feelings of pride. When we acknowledge that everything we have and all that we are is due to Your merciful blessings we are humbled and grateful to You, the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your plans are perfect because You are perfect. We see in Your Word, Your thoughts are not our thoughts and your ways are not our ways. Help us to remember that Your restraints are loving and holy, offered in the package of grace You extend to those who call on Your name. When we refrain from activities and attitudes that displease You we’re preventing erosion of Christian values and preserving Your Spirit of holiness. The Bible says there is none righteous, no not one, but the Holy Spirit who resides within us draws us to You and thereby sets us apart for holy service. Keep us separate and help us to say “no” to anything that would ensnare us to the enemy who seeks to devour and destroy us. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for rescuing us from the dominion of darkness and transforming us into the kingdom of Your Son, the light of the world, We are eternally grateful for Your loving work of grace in our lives. Where would we be today without the redemptive work of Jesus who bore the pain and disgrace of our sins that we might be forgiven and receive eternal life. We give You praise now and forevermore through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen. |
