Heavenly Father, as I deliver sermon messages and I teach on some heart issues, I have people after the service share some very strange beliefs that are not scriptural, yet are being taught in sanctuaries and it saddens me and frustrates me. Lord, we not only surrender our hearts to You but also our minds. Apostle Paul discussed when he said: Don't become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect. Lord, we pray that You would help us sort truth from fiction; to see that which You want us to see, not what the master deceiver dangles before our eyes. So many do not live victorious lives because they imagine that which is not true, they perceive thoughts that are based on false assumptions or the words of others. They limit themselves in areas of service where You want to grow them and make them useful for Your kingdom. Helps us to seek Your will above the opinions of others or our own opinions when they’re not based upon factual criteria. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, help me day by day to walk in the wisdom of Your Holy Word as I make choices this day since the choices I will make tomorrow reflect the choices of today. You’ve given me the freedom to choose but You’ve also given me the wisdom and insight to know that the weight of those decisions bring about good or bad. May my actions not be based on man’s changing words or the standards of my brothers and sisters, for I know we are frail and subject to faulty thinking. I want the standards of the unchanging, living Holy Word to be an anchor for my soul judging the thoughts and attitudes of my heart so that I will stay the course for which You have called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. And help me to be watchful for those who are veering off course so that I can encourage them in the faith and be prayerful for their wandering souls. In the name of Your Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You have made Your wonders to be remembered; In Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace. For You loved the world that You gave Your one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Lord, we join with all of creation to declare Your praise and to celebrate Your lovingkindness as we experience Your tender compassions daily. It is because of Your unceasing mercy that we are not consumed, but rather we are saved through the finished work of Jesus Christ. We rejoice in Your faithfulness; we rest in Your unfailing love; we are restored by Your forgiveness; we are rescued from our folly; and we are reminded that You will fulfill Your purpose in our lives through Your eternal, enduring love. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace. Your exceeding grace is evident as far as the eye can see and reaches way beyond my limited imagination. But the greatest aspect of Your grace is that You choose to reside within my heart. Your abundant grace brings me assurance when the world speaks of trouble. Your abiding grace brings me consolation when others would forsake me. Your sustaining grace is manifested more in the trials of life than in the mountain top experiences. Thank You for supplying me with Your sufficient grace in the height and depth of my existence. Your amazing grace is supernatural; it never ceases to be amazing and it is good for my heart to be strengthened by Your grace! Lord Jesus, we praise You and we ask this prayer in Your mighty name. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your Word says in Proverbs: "The LORD will not allow a righteous person to starve, but he intentionally ignores the desires of a wicked person. Lazy hands bring poverty, but hard-working hands bring riches. Whoever gathers in the summer is a wise son. Whoever sleeps at harvest time brings shame. Blessings cover the head of a righteous person, but violence covers the mouths of wicked people. The name of a righteous person remains blessed, but the names of wicked people will rot away. The one who is truly wise accepts commands, but the one who talks foolishly will be thrown down headfirst. Whoever lives honestly will live securely, but whoever lives dishonestly will be found out." Lord, may we be earnest in our study, diligent in our discernment, and consistent in our Christian testimony so that You may be honored and we may be found faithful. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the commandments that You give are not only to be impressed upon our thoughts but also implanted in our hearts. Help us to be extremely cautious about new teachings that are pleasing to the ear and popular with our present generation, but do not bear witness with the eternal Scripture.Apostle Paul being led by the Holy Spirit said: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. Peter said: "He talks about this subject in all his letters. Some things in his letters are hard to understand. Ignorant people and people who aren't sure of what they believe distort what Paul says in his letters the same way they distort the rest of the Scriptures. These people will be destroyed. Dear friends, you already know these things. So be on your guard not to be carried away by the deception of people who have no principles. Then you won't fall from your firm position. But grow in the good will and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to him now and for that eternal day! Amen." Lord, Keep us on guard against the easy-isms of a shallow Christian experience, for that will eventually give way to surrendering to the enemy in the midst of the spiritual battle of this life. We hold on to that which is of most importance and pass on to those who come behind the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints of all generations. Keep us faithful no matter the cost. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You that You have given us Your Word. Jesus, You are the Word, Who became flesh. You show me in Your Word the mind of my Heavenly Father. You show me mans fall because of rebellion against God, but You also show me such love, for me that brings me back to God. Lord, in this precious book, I see what happens to those that reject You and I also see the prize I strive for where I will be where there will be no more pain and suffering. A place where all believers will be in Your presence. As Apostle Paul wrote, I will do my best to win full approval in God's sight, as a worker who is not ashamed of his work, one who correctly teaches the message of God's truth. Lord, stir in my heart the desire to be diligently immersed in Your Word. The deceiver is diligent in planting seeds of doubt, confusion and clever lies always intending to lead me off course in my spiritual walk. As I persevere in reading and applying truths inscribed throughout Your Word I ward off the incessant pleas from Satan to yield to sin. I desire to be Your faithful follower not just for a season but all through eternity. It is my heart’s desire to influence as many as possible to join me in this noble calling. May You find me faithful so that those who watch my life daily may also find me faithful! In the mighty, precious name of Jesus I thank and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for pruning me, as You are the Master Gardner. We place our hope in You knowing that You direct our paths this day. There is much on our hearts that we are praying about and believing that You will answer. But our faith and joy do not depend only upon Your answering our prayers, but rather the marvelous work that You have done and are doing in our lives. You’ve forgiven us our sins and You’ve written our names in the Lamb’s book of life. May we be joyful in You and the ongoing work You are doing in the spiritual realm, invisible to our eyes and the eyes of others, but very much alive in our spirit. As we allow You to do Your inner work the outflowing fruit in our lives will reveal the changes You make within us. We thank You for it in Jesus’ name, Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your truths and Your Word that are basic instructions before leaving earth. I pray that You will continue to teach me Your way and that I will walk in Your truth always. Lord, give me a pure, undivided heart that I may fear Your name. When I’m tempted to compromise my faith help me to remember that You want a pure heart, one that is not trying to serve both God and man. I want Your favor more than the approval of others, so help me to stay true to Your principles and reject that which contradicts or lessens the full meaning of Your spoken truths. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, search my heart and reveal anything that needs to be changed that is not pleasing to You. As Jesus taught, help me not to strive for worldly riches that would cause me to place my hope in material wealth that is only temporal. I know that money cannot buy love, joy, peace, forgiveness or lasting security. I cannot expect my riches to fulfill my greatest need since money cannot solve matters of the heart, but You do. For the riches You have entrusted to me I want to be wise, accountable, and generous toward those who have less, all the while laying up treasures in heaven that await me when I get to my final and lasting home. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen. |
