Heavenly Father, You have called us to live at peace with all people, in as much as it is possible. As people of free will we cannot force reconciliation but we can facilitate reconciliation. Help us to lay aside pride, prejudice, procrastination and preconceived ideas of the outcome and take the first step toward reconciliation. Guide us in this most important endeavor as we attempt to live at peace with all people. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the “Daniels” of our day. Many of us grew up like me with fathers and mothers who not only taught us right from wrong, but modeled it daily in their relations with family and others. So many today are growing up without Biblical models or Scriptural instruction which has brought about much confusion about what is right and wrong, true or false. Lord I am so thankful that You have given me the Words on this to teach tonight. The power of Your inspired Holy Word reveals absolute truth and is taught by examples of people such as Daniel. He didn’t allow fear, pride, or earthly ambitions to compromise his integrity. Even as Daniel stood the test while continually overcoming the tempter, I pray that You, Father, would help us to prove our loyalty to You when faced with daily temptations, especially the temptation to just go with the flow rather than to go with the guidance of Scripture. May our resolve to do good greatly lessen our temptation to do evil. In the glorious name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, You alone are God and so worthy to be praised. Your order of the universe is ever dependable and precise, never reliant on the will nor power of the humans You created. The morning also brings us word of Your unfailing love, and especially so for those who put their trust in You. We seek to be unwavering in our faith and confident in Your plans for our life as we stand on Your unending promises. Even as we daily experience Your goodness and faithfulness we will be sustained by Your constant presence and guidance in our life since You promise never to leave nor forsake us. We rejoice in Your lovingkindness as we experience Your tender compassions daily. It is because of Your unceasing mercy that we are not consumed, but rather we are saved through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Your faithfulness enables us to rest in Your unfailing love; we are restored by Your forgiveness; we are rescued from our folly; and we are reminded that You will fulfill Your purpose in our lives through Your eternal, enduring love. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, our generation seeks more and more knowledge all the while exercising less and less restraint toward that which grieves Your heart. In our information age knowledge is promoted as the key to success, fulfillment, happiness and financial security and yet we see so many educated people lacking in these areas. While higher education is important, godly wisdom and biblical understanding are the foundational tools by which we accept or reject current philosophies, basic principles, human traditions, and the practices of our day. Your Word helps us to interpret knowledge that is ever changing so that we are careful to build our foundation upon You, the unchanging Solid Rock. Any other foundation will sink when the rain falls, the streams rise, and the assaulting winds blow and beat against that which we have worked so hard to build. We choose to love You and have a healthy, holy fear of going against Your prescribed will for our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I pray as I teach today's message on faith, you will bring people closer to You and they will believe and understand the scriptures we read. Clinging to Your Word is like holding tightly to a brightly lit lantern on a darkened path. I can’t see what’s ahead but the light shines bright enough for me to proceed step by step. I am strengthened, encouraged, convicted and challenged by the Holy Bible as I faithfully read and meditate upon the inspired words written by believers throughout the generations. Like Philologus I want to be a lover of the Word as I join with the Psalmist who proclaims, “Oh how I love Your Law. I meditate on it all day long. I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey Your Word.” Amen. Heavenly Father, my goal in life and what I was created to do is to bring glory to You. Through Your Son Jesus Christ I have been redeemed and make it my life's goal to please You. My mission in life is to honor You through my faith and obedience and prepare myself and all whom I may influence for eternity. Lord, I want to be set apart as a people who care about others, regularly expressing care to them as we follow the Biblical mandate that each of us should look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. Paul charged his readers to have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus who is the supreme example of putting other’s needs before His own. May we be more interested in giving energy to others than taking it for ourselves, for when we refresh others, we ourselves are refreshed. We are replenished as we give to others, for Your reservoir never runs dry and we thank You for it in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, when we read Romans chapter 16, we find different people that Apostle Paul mentions that went through many things, but remained true to You. Lord, we pray for those that follow this ministry who are enduring a testing to remember the highest goal of life is to be "dokimon en Christo" There is great temptation to seek the commendation of those around us so that we might be esteemed in the sight of others. But there is no honor or reward in this life that compares with the commendation that Apelles received, to be tested and approved in Christ. Father, You know the very intent of our heart through each word we speak and each action we carry out. May we honor You in all that we do in the daily battleground of forming attitudes and making choices. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I read in scriptures where the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. How true that is even for our time now, however, how grateful we are for those who roll up their sleeves and get involved in Your Kingdom work. They help carry the burdens of those who are weighed down. They pray people through to salvation. They visit the sick and imprisoned. They give generously of their resources. They take a stand for righteousness sake. They endure trial after trial providing an example for those who need to see what it is to remain faithful during times of testing. These fellow workers make the journey a little sweeter and a lot more enjoyable as we travel through to the other side. We give thanks for our fellow believers who come alongside us. And we give thanks for those who follow and support the J and L Ministries. Bless our fellow workers in Your name, Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we diligently labor for You it is not to bring attention to ourselves, but it is to bring glory to Your name. Help us to find our place of Christian service where we can develop our gifts and expend our labors for the building up of the body of Christ. We are indebted to so many along life’s path who have stepped out of their comfort zone and said, “Yes” I will do what is needed to further the kingdom of God and bless others. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You bless those those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. The sweetness of Your Word is like sweet honey in our mouth that reminds us of Your faithfulness, Your goodness and Your mercy that overflows into our lives as You forgive us of our sins and provide us with an abundant life. Your Words are a sweet savor to our soul as we walk obediently according to Your Word. Thank You Jesus for being the Word. We pray this in Your name. Amen. |
