Heavenly Father, there are so many luring paths one might take in this vast world, thinking they’re headed the right way, only to find the long roads lead to a dead end. As believers, we know that there is only one way to reconcile ourselves to You, our Father in heaven, and that is through Christ Jesus Your Son who declares, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”. We cannot earn our salvation because You give it freely though it came at great cost. We choose to receive Your gift of salvation through our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. We are immensely grateful for Your love and generosity toward us through the merciful sacrifice of Your beloved Son, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, help me not to waste my time and energy in futile or wishful thinking. Instead I want to fix my thoughts upon the living hope I have in Jesus Christ my Lord. I anchor my soul in the bedrock of Your Holy Word so that when other viewpoints counter the truths prescribed in Your Word my anchor remains firm. When difficulties appear insurmountable remind me that I serve an extraordinary God who does not rely on natural solutions but works in the supernatural realm to meet each one of my needs. Your solutions to my problems are not subject to my scrutiny but rather I conform to Your leading and accept Your plan for my life. In doing so I am not tossed to and fro by wishful thinking but I am firmly grounded in the living hope of our resurrected Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we pray, Amen. Heavenly Father, I am greatly humbled and deeply grateful that my name has gained entry in the Lamb’s Book of Life! I sometimes find it very hard to believe that I am there alongside the great deliverer Moses, Abraham, the former persecutor of the church, the Apostle Paul, and scores of other faithful believers throughout the generations. When the book is open and I personally see my name I know that I will experience unspeakable joy and eternal gratitude for the grace Jesus poured out on my life. It is only because of Jesus redemptive grace that my name has been added. And it is only because of His sustaining grace that I will remain faithful until You call me to my heavenly home to hear my name read from the Lamb’s book of life! In the Holy name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is of first importance to the Apostle Paul to declare that Jesus is risen from the dead and is alive forevermore. So it is also of first importance nearly 2000 years later for those of us who hold dear the sacred Scriptures to joyfully declare the miraculous news that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. Jesus is the living One; He was dead but is alive forevermore! This factual knowledge and spiritual blessing helps to still my fears and reminds me that I serve a living, risen Christ who says to His followers, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever.” Because Jesus lives we live also! Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen! Heavenly Father, it has been written that he who stands for nothing will fall for anything. Most within our generation stand for very little that has eternal value, in great part because they were never instructed in the Scriptures and had no godly example to follow. We want to fill in that chasm by being hearers and doers of the Word, leading men and women, boys and girls into a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus. We are convinced of these teachings by the Holy Spirit, by men and women of deep faith who led and instructed us, and by our own defining experiences in life. Help us to stand unashamedly and fearlessly as people of deep conviction so that we can. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for this day and all that You are and what You do in my life. In this decadent world where impostors are increasing in number and, in their menacing deception, we can easily be lured into their schemes or we can stand our ground for purity and holiness though we may be few in number. Lord, help us to always be on guard by familiarizing ourselves with Scripture, and arming ourselves in the attire of a Christian soldier as we do battle with the enemy of darkness. And, Lord, for those who are dear to our heart; those who have taken the enemy’s bait and now are entrapped in sin’s deadly tentacles, we prayerfully intercede on their behalf as we cry out to You. Free them from the deadly strangle of Satan’s influence. Grant us wisdom, discernment, and favor as we interact with them. Send others to bring light to their darkened paths and to help us bear this heavy burden. We will not be defeated, for Your power that is within us is greater than the power of our enemy. We will not despair in our problems, but we will delight in Your promises. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your Word says the just live by faith and again we can see the just walk by faith. When the Roman Centurion was an eyewitness to Jesus’s crucifixion up to his final breath he was moved and convinced that Christ was more than human, indeed he declared, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” Though we were not eye witnesses of that most important historical event, through the testimony of many witnesses and through the power of Your Holy Spirit, we too can declare present tense, “Truly, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”. Because we have the full record in Scripture we can rejoice even before we commemorate your death on Good Friday because we know You rose again and ever live to make intercession for us. Thank You for Your abundant mercy and lavish grace! In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I spend time in prayer and reading from Your Word this morning, You keep drawing me to the cross. Jesus, thank You for dying in my place on the Cross! Just like Barrabas, I am the truly guilty and You are the sinless One who demonstrated Your own love for me in that You died for me while I was dead in my trespasses and sins. Just as You were lifted up on the cross, and just as You were raised up from the dead, You lifted the weight of sin from my heavy shoulders when I turned to You in forgiveness. Not only did You pay off my sin debt but the incredible, unearned bonus is that You also gave me the gift of eternal life. I am amazed when I consider Your extraordinary love for me. Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all. Thank You Jesus for all You have dome for me and I pray this in Your mighty name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we want to bless You at all times. May our praise toward You continually flow from our tongues so that it brightens our outlook and even our countenance. May our lives, set apart for your glory, be as neon lights to this darkened world where so many have lost their way. They’ve become slaves to sin and need to be rescued and set free. As we go throughout our day enable us to genuinely care for these needy souls, in their lostness and despair, to lovingly guide them to salvation through Christ. No one is too lost, or beyond hope, of find saving grace through Christ Jesus. So we continue to pray, believe, and trust You to save our loved ones before it is eternally too late. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when we survey the wondrous cross; the events that led up to this most important time period in history, our hearts are stirred with a contemplative blend of contrition and joyful gratitude for the sin debt You paid on our behalf. The weight of the cross, so heavy that our beaten Saviour fell beneath its heavy load, is symbolic of the crushing debt load of sin He carried on our behalf. So heavy in fact that You, our Father God, had to turn away from Your beloved Son as He alone bore the sin of the world. That supremely dark hour was cringing for the loving onlookers as their beloved breathed His last. Over two days Christ’s dead body lay in a tomb while His followers were grievous, fearful, questioning, filled with confusion, doubt, regret and without direction. But that would soon change and their lives, along with millions throughout the centuries – ours included – were forever changed and eternally secured through the blood bought Lamb of God’s sacrifice. Thank You, Father, for Jesus in whose name we pray. Amen. |
