Heavenly Father, I lift up to You not only my heart from which my love for You is firmly established, but I also lift up to You my soul so that You will fill it with spiritual nourishment and unwavering hope. When my spirit grows faint within me and my heart is dismayed I am strengthened and encouraged as I meditate on all Your works and consider what Your hands have done. I trust You to be what You have been over the eons of time; a faithful, powerful, loving, and redemptive God who rescues me from danger and preserves my life for eternity. I spread out my hands to You as I thirst for You like a parched land. Fill my cup, Lord, fill it up and make me wholly useful for Your kingdom, most especially in these troubled times. It is in Jesus’ name that I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, for some reason many have been asking about all the things I have accomplished in my life and there have been many. But Lord, the accolades, merits, relationships and physical treasures I’ve accumulated in this life are but rubbish when compared to the all surpassing gift of knowing You, receiving Your forgiveness, and experiencing Your redemptive love. Because I am risen with Christ I want to place my affections on things above rather than things on this earth where I am so easily distracted from that which really matters and draws me closer to Your throne. To know You, Father, is to know unfathomable peace and joy beyond measure. Knowing that You loved me do much that You let Jesus die in my place, before I was even thought of by my parents brings me to tears. I thank You through Christ Jesus my Lord. Amen. Heavenly Father, reading from the book of Acts this morning, I am reminded that just as Paul was in the ship heading to Rome, we should be in the world. When those aboard the ship in Acts 27 were looking at the gloomy forecast that appeared for many days their hopes diminished day by day. So often that’s what leads us to defeat; we fear the raging storm and the damage it will do, instead of looking to the One who controls the wind and waves. We consider those suffering as a result of major hurricanes and tsunami's and as of late the earthquake in Nepal where over 4300 have died. Lord, remind us that You are a God of the impossible, bringing hope in the midst of devastation, restoration in the midst of loss. We pray that there will be Christian believers who will bring the life-saving message of Jesus Christ to the hearts of the suffering and bring a message of hope, not based on what they see, but in the hope we have through the Holy Spirit as we trust in You. In the Mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we see through scriptures and within our communities with our own eyes that there will be those who reject You and many will confess that they can be impatient and judgmental toward those who do reject You. Lord, many have come to realize that we can’t live without You, but the unbeliever feels he or she has no need for You. It seems we’re worlds apart in our outlook. Use this passage from Jude to speak to our hearts about applying Your mercy to those who are not of the faith. They do not see through eyes of faith, but are blinded to spiritual truth. Jude also reminds us that while we must embrace the sinner in mercy and love, we must never embrace or endorse the sin. The allurement to sin is always before us, so we ask You to keep us safe. Do not let us deceive ourselves, but show us how to set up safeguards, while reaching out to those who are in sin’s entrapment. Father, we don’t want to be complacent but want to be spiritually burdened with the critical need of reaching out to “the penitent child” who needs You. Lord, I pray that You use me to reach out to these lost souls that You do love. In the name of Jesus I ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are a loving Father. You assure us time and again of Your compassionate love through Your Word, through fellow believers, through extraordinary intervention and whatever other means You ordain. You respond to our needs faithfully, but we confess that our doubts begin when Your voice is silent about particular ongoing needs we’re dealing with. In these instances we begin to wonder, do You really do care. But we desire to prove our faith to be genuine by trusting You even when we cannot see Your hand at work. Help us to persevere in prayer as we seek to understand Your overall plan in these troubling matters. And when we don’t understand Your plan help us to trust You when our faith is being tested, because faith that cannot be tested is faith that cannot be trusted. Lord as it has been foretold about about the end of days, there will be many things that happen where people will run scared and give up. Lord, help me share my faith with others, that they may put their faith in You. That all their trust will be in You and You alone. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, reading through chat messages on one of sites You have blessed me with, I read about a members son who had lived a life as a drug addict, alcoholic and a thief who finally after many praying for him came to know you as Lord and Savior. Praise Jesus! Lord, as I also have unsaved loved ones that I continue to pray for I will never stop praying for them. Lord, when we hear testimonies of Your great works, it should spur us on to pray for our loved ones who just don’t get it. Though we’ve prayed year after year and have felt great frustration at their willful defiance to spiritual truths we pray for them again. Not one of them is a lost cause, but rather a fragile lost soul with a rough exterior who has yet to recognize or acknowledge his need for redemption from a life of sin. Thank You, Father, that You save the vilest offender who surrenders his will to You. All who come to Christ are miracles of Your grace and we commit our loved one(s) to You once again believing You for his or her miracle of redemption. Lord, in Your Word You say "You wish no man perish" but we also know You give us a free will. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your gift of salvation. Lord, if only all could understand just how much that means and what Christ had to got through for it all to be possible. Lord, we have crucified our old nature with Christ and therefore it is Christ who lives in us. The life we now live in the flesh we live by faith through Jesus who loves us and gave Himself for us. If we set our affections on things above, we won’t be as disappointed when we can’t find all the answers here below, but when we appear with You in glory grievances here on earth will disappear forever! We Praise Lord forevermore. In Jesus name I ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I praise You this morning and I praise the Holy Spirit that guides me. Lord, having a long discussion with a young brother last night and conversations with others the past couple days, reminded me much of my past and the religious spirit that Christ delivered me from. Lord, much like Barnabas the encourager, I want to be uplifting to our brothers and sisters, our family members, and others we see from day to day. There are those who’ve left us with stinging reminders of their hurtful words often accompanied by painful actions. Gratefully, there are others who have brought us strength and encouragement through their words of affirmation, hope, challenge, and helpful instruction. They remained supportive of us when others gave up. Lord You have sent many mentors my way in which I am grateful. Help us to be numbered among the encouragers as we live in these perilous days where confusion abounds and deceitfulness is rampant. May we encourage others not only by our words but also by our steady, consistent, Christian lifestyle. In the name of Jesus I thank and pray. amen. Heavenly Father, this morning I woke up thinking about a long discussion a couple nights ago on one of the sites about gay marriage. Lord, if I could dedicate this prayer to You, but for also those husbands and wives that take marriage seriously. Lord, I find one of the greatest mysteries in the human experience is how You blend two individuals (man and woman) and make them become as one when they join as husband and wife. The “me” becomes “us” in our shared interests and goals in life. Things are no longer “mine” but “ours.” Lord, I feel with the woman that you blessed me with, our times of celebration as well as times of sadness and loss become shared experiences. We honor marriage, recognizing the sacrifices and blessings that come to those who are joined in holy matrimony. We also recognize that our archenemy, Satan, is intent on destroying the very foundation of marriage that You established from the beginning. We uphold the institution of marriage as defined in Scripture and honor it when we speak of it and the way we live it out with our spouse. Lord, may You bless these marriages today and when the difficult times come, as we know they will, let us always turn to You for guidance and understanding. Let us not turn away from the one you blessed us with like the world would do. Jesus, when we called upon You to be our Lord and Savoir, our minds were renewed. We became a new creature and now we are set apart from the rest of the world. Let us act like it. Let us show to the world how a marriage that is based on You, Lord can be. Lord I thank and ask the prayer in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank you for Your promises in Your Word that we, as true believers believe, in faith. Lord, You reign forever and ever and Your Kingdom knows no end. Thank You for Your plan of salvation that includes us in Your kingdom and for the eternality of our souls. Since everything has an expiration date in this life eternity is hard to grasp, yet fills us with anticipation for the everlasting life yet to come. Keep us hope-filled and faithful as we journey here below. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. |
