Heavenly Father, as I read though the book of Psalms this morning, I include the verses as my prayer today. Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I meditate on Your age-old laws; O Lord, they comfort me. Your principles have been the music of my life throughout the years of my pilgrimage. You have done many good things for me, Lord, just as You promised. I used to wander off until You disciplined me, but now I closely follow Your Word. You are good and do only good; teach me Your principles through Christ Jesus our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we see in scriptures the power of our mouth. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Then we have a man made expression “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never harm me” When I sit and think about this phrase that I have heard from my childhood, it is a mistaken message certainly not derived from Scripture. Harmful words or actions do irrevocable damage that will not disappear through first aid or antiseptic. Hurtful words have a way of playing over and over in our head and enter into the deep recesses of our hearts. The more we cling to them the greater we risk exaggerating their original message. We build walls, become defensive and do little to resolve the problem. Help us to weigh our words carefully, put ourselves to the test of asking, “Are the words coming from my mouth pleasing in Your sight”. When we habitually put our words to this test we will not use foul language, engage in crude joking, gossip or slander another but we will instead choose to build one another up in love. Keep us faithful in doing so we pray in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, through You Word we can see that family is very important to You. I also see in the end times that family members will turn against each other. I pray for the family unit, which is under vicious attack throughout the world today. Your perfect design cannot be improved upon even when earthly institutions attempt to redefine, enlighten, update or explain away Your original intent. I pray for godly parents to remain resolute in nurturing their children in the ways of the Lord. May Your Word and its instruction filter all that we see and hear so that You remain our absolute authority, not the ever-changing whims of our culture. I pray for our churches and their leaders to be cleansed and purified by Your Holy Word. May their instruction always be from Your inerrant Holy Word, not by those who present a societal agenda. By Your grace and our commitment to holy living we can reside in the world without having the mind of this world. Help us through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for this time you gave my wife and I to get away. Lord as we head home today, I will be surrounded by many people and many who won't know You. You know the exact number of words that will flow from my lips. Some of them meaningful and others meaningless. Would You help me to be conscious of the words I speak to others and make me sensitive to those who need caring words. Help me to look not only to my own interests but also to the interests of others as I offer words fitly spoken to those desperately needing to hear a word from You through a servant like me. In Jesus name I ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, You knew us before we were in our mothers womb and You know us now to the point You know every hair on our head. Lord, You are a good Father and there is no limit to all that You have provided for us such as material blessings, physical health, the love of family and unending promises that You have already fulfilled or that are yet to be fulfilled. But You have also set visible and well-defined boundaries that are for our own good. Temptations to either toe the boundary line or cross over into enemy territory will always be there, but You give us the power to resist and discernment to recognize the alluring deceit of the evil one. Help our eyes and hearts to remain focused on Your innumerable blessings and provisions as we stand against the god of this age who seeks to destroy us. May we not move the landmark of the faithful to join with the ranks of the faithless. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You ask us to be not just hearers of Your Word, but to be doers also. Lord, we thank You for Your repeated warnings in Scripture that informs, instructs and protects us from the evil one. Help us not to ignore Your warnings or procrastinate in our obedience to Your commands. Embolden our spiritual leaders to be fearless watchmen who speak out Your truths, even when they’re not popular or politically expedient. May we be receptive to Your Word and obedient in our response. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen. Heavenly Father, You tell us in Psalms. "You are my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in You. You ask us to Trust in Your at all times. To pour out your heart before You as You are our refuge for us. Jesus, You are the Light of the world. And because You reside in our hearts we are a reflection of Your holy light. The world we live in is dark and growing even darker as Satan’s sinister and deceitful schemes are being played out. Help us not to look the other way when darkness is spreading lest the darkness overshadow us in time. Instead would You empower us through the light of Your Holy Spirit to shine in a wicked and decadent society. We come against the darkness by speaking against wickedness in all forms. And, Lord, help us to be consistent not only in what we speak but the manner in which we live. May the fruit of light be evident in all we do. It is in Your name, Jesus, that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You tell us "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal" Lord, it is because of Your great compassion and the sacrificial death of Jesus that we, through faith, qualify for citizenship in heaven. We want to live as responsible citizens here on earth and conduct ourselves properly in accordance to the law of the land. We also choose to live responsibly as citizens of the heavenly kingdom reflecting that which is in accordance to Your Holy Word. We enjoy so many wonderful privileges here and now, but we will enjoy many privileges not yet revealed on this side of heaven when You transfer us to our eternal home land. Help us not to be so tied to this temporal life that we crave the pleasures and merits of this world above the future eternal inheritance promised to faithful followers of Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, one does not have to look far to know that because of our faith in You, we are being persecuted word wide. Lord, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ that they will not be fearful or ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that Christ will be exalted through us, whether by life or by death. Whatever happens, help us to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ so that we honor Your name and bring strength to the Christian body. In Jesus that I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, throughout this ministry You have blessed me with, I talk to people from all over the world who have questions about You and Your Word and living a Christian life. Lord, though I am sometimes perplexed by that which I don’t understand I have an unshakable confidence in You. Your Word is truth and Your promises never fail. There are many things of which I am uncertain, but I have absolute certainty that I can trust You for everything that concerns me. May obedience be an expression of my unwavering trust and devoted love toward You, my Lord and my God. In Jesus name I ask and thank. Amen. |
