Heavenly Father, let my total focus be on Jesus. May our eyes, our thoughts, and our affections be on Jesus, our blessed Redeemer. Precious Jesus, though You faced enormous opposition that would provide understandable excuse for altering Your redemption plan, nevertheless You endured the cross and scorned it’s shame. Thank you that you died for my sins and the words sins and rose in victory and returned to Your Father to sit at His right hand. When we consider the depth of Your commitment we’re even more determined to be faithful in the night seasons of our Christian walk. Help us to endure by keeping our eyes, not on that which is seen, but on the unseen future rewards that You promise to those who are faithful. Let us carry our the new commandment you gave. "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." We pray this in Your name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, putting together the sermon message for tonight, you led me to a few scriptures that we all need to understand and do. We are told, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" Also, this important word. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. We are also advised by the apostle James to ask for any wisdom we lack, and You will give generously to us that which we ask. So much wisdom is attained by carefully reading, studying, and applying the Scripture. Additional wisdom is granted through the experiences we go through in life and also observing others, their response to critical situations along with their life choices and the results that follow. There are many things we observe and learn as we go through life’s journey. Help us to hold on to that which will profit us, that which will benefit or broaden our understanding. Enable us to reject and dispense of that which is in direct contrast to Your Holy Word so that we are not led astray or misguided by teachings the world deems to be knowledgeable or wise. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your Word says, "Faith comes from healing and hearing by the word of God" Your Word also says, "Without faith, we cannot please You. To me, that would encourage me all the more and does. Lord, if we guard Your teachings in Scripture as the apple of our eye we will love and cherish them. We will read, honor and obey them, aligning all other input with Your Word. It must meet the sniff test by measuring up to unchanging Biblical principles or be rejected on that basis. You change the hearts and souls of men and women, boys and girls, and yet You are the changeless, everlasting Father whom we worship now and for all eternity. May we continue in what have learned and become convinced of because it increases our faith and anchors our spirit in this world where instability, fear, and distrust are the order of the day. Keep us true and growing in our faith, we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, our lives here on earth have changed since we were younger, but You haven't changed. Lord we see and hear of such things happening all over the world, that I know for me, I never thought this generation would see. Father God, I also know You love us and work in our lives to accomplish Your eternally good purpose. We can have full confidence in You especially in times of suffering and senseless loss, but only as we learn to trust You. Like a master weaver, You weave the dark strands as well as the threads of gold and silver and intertwine them to accomplish Your eternally good purpose in our lives. But now, Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are our potter. We are the work of your hands. Keep us steady, trusting, and looking to Your promise to work good in our lives in the midst of the bad that life throws our way. We’ll be better for it and can use that good to funnel Your love to others in similar pain. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You that You sent Jesus miraculously to earth through a virgin birth. I thank You that some of the miracles that Jesus did were seen and recorded for many to see while He was on earth and were recorded for us to know and believe today. Father God, Jesus rising from the dead, just as He said He would, is so exciting and real for those that believe. Jesus, You arose in victory, joy, liberation, and freedom from the hands of evil men, never to have to go through that again--and You did it all to spare us the same. Now we can say with the apostle Paul, "O death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" Hallelujah! The message “He is risen” resounds beyond the place of the tomb where Jesus’ body no longer lay, for it resounds in our hearts and soars within our spirits nearly 2000 years later. We serve a risen Savior who is in the world today, who dwells within our hearts, and who reconciles us to You, our Father in heaven. What a joyous and triumphant day we celebrate at Easter and everyday as we acknowledge our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who died, was buried, and who rose again. In the name of our Risen Savior I thank and ask. Amen. Heavenly Father, I think Jesus for saving me and making me new again. Father God, I confess that in the process of being molded and fashioned into Your likeness I am often unyielding and struggle in the process of becoming more like You. Thank You for placing people in my life who model godly character and who courageously speak words of direction and correction when I most need it. Help me to graciously receive these messengers and promptly respond to the message they bring when it is supported scripturally and spoken from a wise and loving heart. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, what a friend we have in Jesus. Jesus is our the Great Shepherd of our souls and we look to You for guidance, wisdom, and protection. Lord Jesus, You are the true vine, in which the life of believers, as abiding branches, is hid. Abiding in You, we the believer is able to walk in purity of life. You take all our burdens and we can draw all wisdom and strength from You. We praise You Jesus. As a good shepherd would lay down his life to save his sheep You laid down Your life to save us from our sins. There is none in all the world who can save us for all eternity except You so we are fully indebted to You for giving Your all that we might experience abundant life here, now, and forevermore. It is in You precious name we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, in Your compassion You crush our sins under Your feet and throw them in the depths of the ocean, to be remembered no more. And yet there are times when we have great difficulty letting go of past sins to the extent of dwelling on them and getting weighed down by guilt and self-condemnation. Help us to let go of that which You have forgiven. If we are to remember anything of our past, let it be that which brings glory to You as we share with others that which You have forgiven and delivered us from. May the contrast of our former lives not bring up condemnation which You have freed us from, but instead provide witness that there is nothing beyond Your merciful pardon. To God be the glory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank Jesus for the finished work at the cross. We have been justified through grace, by faith in Christ, it is our first duty to surrender ourselves to You, Father a living sacrifice, that there may be a saving change wrought in us and that we might be made serviceable in every way to our brothers and sisters. Shape my thinking into that which will bring about growth and conformity to Your will. Teach me to think not in accord with my own human instincts but with the truth as it is revealed in Your Word. It will keep me from lusting after deadly forbidden fruit if I plant myself into that which is holy and righteous. As the world continues to slide into decadence help me to delve deeper into Your Word and faithfully commune with You so that my heart does not grow cold or indifferent. Nor will I be drawn into every kind of impurity with a continual lust for more. I want to stand firm to the end so that I am saved from this world of sin and influence others to live a godly life. Through Christ’s strength and my prayerful resolve I will remain faithful. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You have examined me, and You know me. You alone know when I sit down and when I get up. You read my thoughts from far away. You watch me when I travel and when I rest. You are familiar with all my ways. Even before there is a single word on my tongue, You know all about it, Lord. You are all around me-in front of me and in back of me. You lay your hand on me. Such knowledge is beyond my grasp. It is so high I cannot reach it. Where can I go to get away from Your Spirit? Where can I run to get away from You? If I go up to heaven, You are there. If I make my bed in hell, You are there. If I climb upward on the rays of the morning sun or land on the most distant shore of the sea where the sun sets, even there Your hand would guide me and Your right hand would hold on to me. If I say, "Let the darkness hide me and let the light around me turn into night," even the darkness is not too dark for You. Night is as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to You. You alone created my inner being. You knitted me together inside my mother. I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this. Father God, we are grateful for the boundaries You place throughout Scripture that are solely for our protection. Often it’s to protect us from the devil who lurks waiting for the opportunity to pounce and other times it’s to protect us from our own vain vices that can be equally destructive. Wise us up so that we don’t resent or rebel against that which is for our own eternal good. Rather help us to see that You are an all-wise, all-knowing God who looks after us and sets boundaries so that we don’t lose sight of our spiritual heritage here on earth which will pave the way for our eternal inheritance in heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
