Heavenly Father, those who sacrifice their time, affections, and finances to idols are doing so at their own peril. We want to offer our lives as living sacrifices, making them holy and acceptable to You. When we exchange that which is best from You for that which is appealing from the devil we regress. We fall back rather than move forward. We want to be led of Your Spirit step by step, day by day, moment by moment. Whenever we’re tempted to compromise remind us of the tragic exchange that will result and the awful consequences that follow. We want to stay on the straight and narrow, not going one step off the right way. Help us to do so, in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we’re abundantly grateful for our earthly dwellings where we find pleasure, companionship, comfort, rest and sustenance. If we’re not intentional, we will give more time and affection to our temporal home than our future eternal home. Perhaps it’s because we’re living in the here and now and the future seems so distant and unfamiliar. Help us not to fear the future nor foolishly think it will not come, but to embrace it so that we are prepared when that moment comes. May our heart’s yearning, our primary focus, and our physical labors also have heavenly goals each day as we seek to live for You daily. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, just as we hunger and thirst for physical substance, intensify our hunger and thirst for godly discernment, spiritual knowledge, and righteous living. Jesus declared, “Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness.” Only as we regularly nurture our spiritual appetite will we delve into the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God. Through the daily grind of life the inexhaustible truths revealed in Your Word brighten our outlook and make certain of our eternal hope, while they also teach us discernment so that we know good from evil, those who are genuine from those who are impostors. Jesus is the living bread for hungry souls so it is our prayer that we look to Him to satisfy our spiritual hunger. In His Holy name I ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, we who claim to be Your children recognize Your voice and choose to listen and follow You. Many other voices beckon and personalities charm but Your divine love surpasses all earthly images because of Jesus, the Great Shepherd, who laid down His life for us. Your love so amazing, so divine demands my soul, my life, my all. I lay it all down, take up the cross of Jesus and follow after You through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I teach today from Your Word about not going the broad way that leads to destruction, but following the narrow way, with the narrow gate, let the listeners ears and eyes be opened and their hearts be open and receptive to changes that we may need to surrender to the foot of the cross. Father I pray that anyone reading this prayer would join me with a sincere heart asking that You would remove the scales of indifference, fear, skepticism, doubt, and unbelief along with any other unwanted attitudes or traits that would keep me from giving You my all. When the scales are removed I no longer see that which holds me back but I see Jesus who said, “With God all things are possible.” When the scales are removed I find that Your power propels me into service, reaching out to the lost and showing the way to forgiveness and eternal life. Help me to have the courage of Ananias to reach out to those who seem hopeless, undeserving, and zealous in all the wrong ways like Saul. Just as Ananias had a tremendous role in mentoring the Tormentor Saul as he became the Preacher Paul, we too can make a difference in one’s life who is lost, hurting, and presently headed to eternity without You. Remove our scales and launch us forward in service to You. We thank You Jesus and we pray in Your name. Amen. Heavenly Father, our little becomes great as You show us how to do good works in Your name. We choose not to be crippled by our limited abilities, wisdom, or lack of creativity. We don’t give to others according to that which we don’t have, but we give to others from the abundance You pour into our lives. May it overflow into those around us as we seek to be a blessing. Direct our footsteps according to Your Word as You give us opportunity for divine encounters this day as we reach out to others in the name of Christ Jesus, for it is in His name that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when I gave my heart to Jesus, I chose to follow You all the days of our life. I find great assurance as I am reminded that we will not be engulfed by the surrounding darkness of evil but instead Your radiant light will guide me to eternal blessing. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight holding onto Your promises as we continue to build a solid foundation through Your Holy Word. Help us to “walk in the light”. It is in the Name of Jesus that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, reading from the book of Genesis, we learn that You were with Joseph “while” he was in the midst of a tremendous trial, due to no fault of his own. In fact, he was suffering because of the strong, moral stand he took in being a trustworthy servant. You don’t forsake us when we’re undergoing trial but You are right there with us showing us Your grace and favor, though it may be obscured by the gloomy overshadowing trial. You use Scriptures, devotional thoughts, sermons and fellow believers to bring us encouragement, instruction, and inspiration. They help us to weather the howling storms of doubts and fears in the troubling chapters of our life. Help us to trust You as step by step You lead us on our earthly pilgrimage. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, we praise You for the plan that You have for our lives. We thank You for loving us and sending Your only Son to die for us. Precious Jesus, I want to live today in glorious anticipation of Your second coming. Because You buried my sin into the deepest part of the ocean I do not live in condemnation. Rather I am freely pardoned by Your completely selfless and merciful death upon the cross. It brings unspeakable joy because You have broken the bondage of sin that held me captive for years. I’m also overjoyed in knowing that You, Lord, will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God to take me to be caught up with You in the air. I am greatly encouraged in knowing that I will forever be with You in the presence of Almighty God and the saints who’ve gone ahead of me. Keep me faithful, trusting, and anticipating that great day. In Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, from the time we awaken to the time we lie down we declare that You are worthy to be praised! Your name is exalted far above the earth, Your worth much greater than any jewels. Help us not to be people who use the same tongue for cursing and praises. Instead we engage our mind, surrender our hearts and employ our tongue to praise You, our Lord and Father. Be glorified in our lives so that we bring praise and glory to You this day and each day. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
