Heavenly Father, as I live in a state that goes back and forth from being the poorest state to the runner up and also either the poorest county, or next to it, I hear a lot of wants. Lord, it’s a fact that the vast majority want something for nothing. If they get their wish it might bring temporary pleasure, but it cannot satisfy the soul’s longing and the item will have a perishable shelf life. When Jesus gave His all as a sacrifice for our sins You made available to us the free gift of salvation that is for all eternity. We cannot pay for our forgiveness nor can we repay Jesus for His sacrifice for our sins. We can’t save up for our real estate in heaven, nor do we hire a designer, for Jesus is there now providing and preparing a home for us. All we give in return is a heart surrendered to His plan for our lives here on earth that will be more fully experienced in the great beyond. May our hearts be set on things above where Christ is seated at Your right hand, rather than things on the earth. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I shout praises to You today and everyday, because You are good and so worthy to be praised. Thank You for Your patient love for us. Praise be to You, our Father of compassion and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from You. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Him. Even in the midst of affliction our hope is steadfast since we know that, as we are partakers of suffering, we also will partake of Your consolation. We thank You that we can find peace and assurance through Your loving consolation as we look to You for strength and calmness of spirit. W come to You Lord in the precious name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, I love to spend time to take in all You created. When we take the time, and smell, see, hear and feel, we sense Your works that surround us and adds such depth and beauty to our daily experiences in life. You not only tend to our daily needs but through Your great works You delight our senses by that which we see, touch, hear, and feel as we admire Your handiwork. Help us to pause in our busy schedules to listen to the rippling brook, smell the tree blossoms, observe the mountain grandeur and recognize Your creative power. As I plant my vegetable gardens and yesterday as my bride and I planted annual flowers I am reminded again of all the beauty that You created and let us enjoy in the plentiful ornamentals that we have the privilege of planting, growing and tending over the warm months each year. Your great works are observed in the Scriptures and admired in our daily lives. How wonderfully extravagant is Your works that we enjoy each day, for it is truly the heavens declaring Your glory and the firmament showing Your handiwork. For them we are grateful. Thank You Lord for letting me have the opportunity to experience all these things. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You being the Creator of all things did not make us as puppets where You just pull our strings to make us do what You want us to do. No Lord, You gave us a free will. When it comes to believing You and serving You, we have a free choice. We read where Joshua placed a stone under the oak tree to serve as a witness against anyone who heard Your words spoken through godly leaders and yet chose to deny You. The stone under the oak tree in Schechem was witness to those who remained true or those who denied the faith. The stone was unchanging from day to day, year to year just as our promises should be. It was an inanimate witness unable to speak, but today we have living witnesses within our family, community, and church that can either speak up that we are people of truth or deny our claims. Our words will be demonstrated in our attitudes and actions and we will impact these eye witnesses in regard to their eternal future. No matter the consequence in this life, we never want to deny You in what we say or do. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for this day. Thank You for loving us and for Your Word that guides us to Your truths. Jesus in Your perfect wisdom You have told us in the Gospels that greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. We honor those who died, sacrificing their lives for their brothers and sisters in arms, for their family and friends at home, for the country that we all love. Lord, regardless to what some here say, You have blessed America with great freedom and great responsibility. We especially thank You for the freedom we have which allows the Gospel of Jesus Christ to spread throughout our nation. Over a million men and women have died in battle fighting for our freedoms. We take comfort Lord knowing that many of those men and women who died had secured their place in heaven by placing their faith and trust in you God. Our hearts are broken knowing that many of them died apart from You without the hope of eternal life. We pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are serving today that you would raise them up to boldly and clearly proclaim Your promise of eternal life. Would You place a strong Christian in every unit in our military to preach the good news so that no one else will die in battle without having had the chance to commit their souls to You. We pray for the families of those who were lost who are still grieving today, we ask that they will find strength and comfort in you Lord. Lord God, war is a direct reflection of our sinful and broken world. We know that no matter how many wars are fought more wars will come, that no matter how many have died more will die. But God you have not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with Him. For you Lord are good and your love endures forever; your faithfulness continues through all generations. Victory is already yours through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank You Jesus for Your sacrifice and unconditional steadfast love. May those who do not know You and Your love hear Your truth and come to know You as their Lord and Savior and experience Your amazing and endless love. For His honor and glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, it’s interesting that we often plead for Your attention and certainly expect You to listen to our prayers and You assure us through Your word that You hear us when we call on You. But for true fellowship to exist we too must listen to Your voice through Scripture, through fellow believers, through Your many works of creation, and through Your still small voice that beckons our attention. You have so much to tell us that will often encourage us, sometimes reprove us, but always spur us on to good works and needed spiritual perspective as we journey here below. Help us to listen, to heed, and to be steadfast in our fellowship with You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, I shout with joy that You loved me so much to sent Jesus to earth to die in my place. How grateful I am that You turned the darkness of my soul into the sunshine of Your glory. Jesus transformed my heart and renewed my mind when I received Him my personal Savior. Jesus, You took away sin’s sorrows and filled me with everlasting joy. Sin no longer is my master, but You are my Lord and Master. It is Your voice that I hear and it is Your paths that I follow! Continue the process of transformation in my life until that final day when Your work is complete. You gave me my first breath and I want to give You my final breath as I am transformed into immortality. My good Shepard, thank You for being the door and letting me in and saving me. I read in the Gospel of John where You said, Those who serve You must follow You. I will serve You Lord and follow You and Your ways. In Your precious name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I marvel at the trace of Your hand in my life. If I were to speak of the “stones” of deliverance and provision the first and most important “stone” would be the moment You delivered me from darkness and transferred me into the kingdom of Your light. You took the uncertainties of my life and gave me an eternal purpose for living. I am so grateful for the solid, reliable “stone” of salvation that is the starting point for the path of stones where I’ve seen Your hand in my life as I’ve experienced Your deliverance, provision and faithfulness every step along my pilgrim journey. Step by step, Lord, You walk with me on this straight and narrow path that leads to life eternal upholding me with Your righteous right hand. I give You glory for the ones that have continually prayed for my bride and me. I am so thankful for the brothers and sister in Christ that You have put in our circle who uplift and edify us and even correct us. Thank You Father and in Christ name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, would You show us through Your Holy Spirit, through the Holy Scriptures and by the examples of committed believers what it is to live for the eternal. It seems that we indulge with the world far too much and it prioritizes our time, finances, and interests. As we love You more and trust You more, we love the things of the world less. We see them for what they really are – temporary, broken, and often sin-ridden. As we fix our eyes on You the things of this world grow strangely dim. We want to spend more time with You which will direct our thoughts and affections toward heaven. We want to deposit our investments there so that our treasure chest is growing with rust-proof, moth-proof, and thief-proofed treasures that last for all eternity. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen! Heavenly Father, You have given us Your Holy Word as a spiritually historical foundation to build our lives upon. Through the centuries Your greatness is demonstrated through ordinary people just like us and through Your awesome acts that reveal Your incomparable power and divine attributes. History in the past and history in the making is subordinate to Your sovereign work in the lives of Your people. We choose to remember our leaders, who spoke the Word of God to us and consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith as we lovingly submit ourselves into Your merciful hands. Thank You Lord and it is in Jesus name that we pray. Amen. |
