Heavenly Father, I give thanks that I am able to talk to you through prayer and I know that Your hear me. Jesus as a human being in perfect subjection to the You walked in constant communion with You through prayer. In those days when His enemies were filled with madness against Him, He gave much time to prayer. If He, the Son of God, needed to pray, how much more business should we have at the throne of grace? Jesus was our perfect example. Merciful Father of the second chances, thank You for seeing our plight and sending Your Holy Spirit to awaken us from our stupor of laziness, indifference, hardness and outright rebellion. It seems we slip into such a stupor without realizing how we even got there, but when we earnestly seek You we can rekindle the embers of trust and faith, servanthood and obedience. Just as the Psalmist found himself in the literal dry and weary desert of Judah where there was no water, we too can feel parched within our spirit. Yet deep within we know that You are our help; You will rescue us from the dryness of our spirit and refresh us with the dewdrops of Your Holy Spirit causing us to sing in the shadow of Your wings. Our soul will cling to You, while Your right hand upholds us strengthening that which remains which was about to die. We cling to You through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as our nation pauses today to remember those in the military who have given their lives for freedoms we enjoy, we pray You would have us all look to You for strength, comfort and guidance. Be with all who are serving in our Armed Forces. Lord, bless them and their families. The families of our service men and women and the veterans and their families are often forgotten. Father God, we’re grateful that, as believers, our citizenship is primarily in heaven and we share this glorious citizenship with our brother and sisters all over the world. We want to always remember You in the midst of our prosperity and seek to keep Your commandments. We pray for a massive worldwide revival where people will humble themselves, seek Your face, pray and turn from their wicked ways so that we will hear from Heaven and You will heal our sin sick land. Until that hour we will remain faithful and unwavering in our commitment to follow Your Word while we eagerly await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, may my words, my thoughts and my actions always be pleasing to You. Lord, help me to always keep You in my thoughts about everything, even when the worlds ways try to dictate to me how things should be done. Father God, the dynamic story of the three Hebrew men has been a favorite story of Your miraculous deliverance for all ages and throughout all generations. Their unyielding devotion to You, Almighty God, is a tremendous example to those of us who call You our Father. You are not only our Father who watches over us but also our Deliverer in times of trouble. Faith that cannot be tested is faith that cannot be trusted, so it is in times of fiery testing that we prove Your power and You prove our allegiance to You. Help us to be willing to give up our lives rather than serve or worship any god except the one true eternal God. You are the One true God and worthy to be praised. I thank You Lord and I pray this in Jesus name. The Name above all other names. Amen. Heavenly Father, we live in such a dark and dying world. Things have changed for the worse in the last twenty years faster than I ever thought or imagined was possible, but my faith remains in You and Your Word. Lord, You didn’t command us to change the hearts of those walking in darkness, for only You can do that. But You did command that we let our light shine so that others will see Your work in our lives and glorify You, our Father in heaven. May the work of our hands and the words that flow from our lips be expressions of Your indwelling light that guides us day by day. We desire, along with multitudes of other believers, to be a sunbeam shattering the spreading darkness as we walk circumspectly in Your ways. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, during our faith walk, there will be times struggles will come, but we keep our focus on You. There maybe times that you will chastise us, but it shows Your love for us. Father God, as we cling to Your hand we will remain unshaken in a world where life is filled with transition. Solomon spoke of this when he wrote that all are going to the same place; all come from dust and all return to dust. An old gospel song speaks to this, “Time is filled with swift transition; naught of earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on things eternal; hold to God’s unchanging hand!” As we continue to build on that which can’t be seen on this side of glory, we do not throw away our confidence or shrink back, for our faith will someday be richly rewarded. We persevere so that when we have done the will of God we will receive what He has promised; eternal life and a glorious place to reside where sorrows do not exist and sin cannot enter. Keep us looking up and our souls singing Your unending praise, ten thousand years and then forevermore. In the glorious name of Jesus, my Lord and my Savoir. Amen. Heavenly Father, my hope is in You. We may easily bear the unjust reproaches of men if we live in expectation of the glorious appearance of Jesus, our Savior, and that we shall be made like Him when we see Him as He is. Come Jesus, come. Father God, I have hope because I’ve anchored my faith in Your Holy Word and the unchanging character of who You are. It is not the circumstances of my day that will determine my eternal future, but it is the hope I have in Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of my soul, that overrides the temporal and potentially discouraging matters that lie before me. I have a hope that is firm and secure in Christ who speaks to You, Father, on my behalf. Thank You for hearing me and responding to all that concerns me this day. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. My dear friends, I will be out of town for a couple of days and won't have internet access. God willing I will be back on Friday. Love and blessings, Jim Heavenly Father, I thank You for the peace and love You have given me through Jesus. Father, our faith rests in the finished work of Jesus at Calvary. Because of His tremendous sacrifice our sins are forgiven and a place is reserved for us in heaven. We also find rest from our unending troubles in this life as we respond to Jesus’ invitation: “Come to Me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Help us to look to You for needed strength and an overcoming spirit as we daily encounter challenges and ongoing burdens. Burdens are lifted at Calvary for that is where Jesus bore not only our sins but also our sorrows. Praise be to You, our Father in heaven, who daily bears our burdens. I pray and ask this in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for the path You have planned for my life. You have set me in a race much differently then races I am familiar with. Everyone who enters an athletic contest here on earth, goes into strict training. They do it to win a temporary crown, trophy, or ribbon, but we do it to win one that will be permanent. Praise Jesus. The race You’ve marked out for us doesn’t require nearly as much physical stamina as it does spiritual endurance. Those who are physically weak due to disease, illness, and aging are just as qualified to run as those who have young athletic bodies. It’s a spiritual race where You call us to perseverance as we discard those things that would trip us up, lead us on a disastrous detour or a total defeat. The great cloud of witnesses spur us on; those from the Biblical period, throughout history, and from our own generation. But above all we thank You, Jesus, that You endured the cross and all the suffering that accompanied it, being spurred on by the joy You knew that would be Yours afterward. You cheer us on by Your own example and by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit that sustains us in our struggle against sin. Keep us faithful to the finish line as it is an entry way into a life unentangled by any form of sin in the perfect world God created for us. I praise You Jesus and in Your glorious name I pray Amen. Heavenly Father, let us not forget our first Love. To know You and the power of Your love is impossible without practical observance of Your Word, which means that we must seek to walk as Christ walked, in love toward our fellowmen and in separation from the things of the world. To profess to know You and yet deny Jesus as the Christ is to brand oneself as given up to the delusions of the devil. Father God, we don’t pray for a life of ease since we know that virtues listed in Scripture are often refined in our lives through the challenges, the overcomings, the mistakes and the hours we spend in prayer seeking You above all else. May the nature of Christ be much more visible than our human nature so that we are truly a reflection of Your image that is stamped deep in our hearts. We desire to “follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness” so that we are truly fruitful in our pursuit of holiness. We ask and thank in the precious name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, true wisdom comes from You and is the principle thing for our lives. It is that which recommends us to You, which beautifies our soul, which enables us to answer the ends of our creation, to live to some good purpose in the world and which makes our path brighter and brighter until we get to heaven at last. Lord, it is Your desire that we stay faithful to Your teachings. Scripture gives many examples of those who knew to do right, but chose to do wrong. The consequences of their wrong actions inflicted a great deal of loss, life-long regret and emotional pain. Help us to avoid the traps Satan has set for the believers by not only reading the Word, but applying its truth to our lives, and standing firm when the temptation to do wrong is ever before us. Lord, we are to walk in a way of light. Christ is our way and Christ is the light. Let us be guided by the Bible which is a light to our feet and guided by the Holy Spirit. Lord, I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen |
