Heavenly Father, we thank Your for this new year we are about to enter into. As we approach 2018, help us to keep a Biblical perspective as we consider the brief duration of our life on this earth in light of eternity. Our lives are not meaningless nor are they insignificant for we acknowledge that You have brought purpose to our lives for our present journey and that purpose will extend through all eternity. On this earth we may never fully experience and understand Your purpose, but we do seek to trust and obey You all the while, keeping that which we have committed to You until that day. In Jesus name we ask and pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as we we say goodby to the year 2017 an embark upon another year with Your guidance and presence in all that we undertake, all that we will endure, and all that we seek to accomplish. May we be mindful not of ourselves first, but of those who journey with us day after day. Let us be eager to encourage, ready to reach out, and faithful to pray for our brothers and sisters. Above all, keep us growing in Your grace and knowledge as we desire to glorify You in this new year of 2018. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the radiance of Your holiness is revealed in the light of Your Son, Jesus, who came to dwell among us. We know that in Him there is no darkness at all. Satan, the prince of darkness blinds and deceives, but Jesus, the Prince of Peace, enlightens with wisdom and truth through His earthly life revealed in Your Holy Word. And now we have the light of Your Holy Spirit to guide us in a sin-darkened world as we make this earthly journey. May the light that burns within us brighten our countenance and be our power source for truth, holiness, and courageous witness to those who have been blinded by the darkness. We pray that they will come into the light of Your salvation. In Jesus name we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are good and worthy to be praised. Anything good or praiseworthy in me is simply a reflection of the abiding presence of Your Holy Spirit. I want to grow in Your grace and knowledge, and will do so if You are preeminent in my life. That means You will reign supreme and be of first importance to me, having greater influence than any other person or cause. I want to walk in humility today as I pray, “Jesus, must become greater in my life, I must become less.” I ask You to be at the center of my thoughts, my attitudes, and my actions so that Your preeminence is seen in all I do and say. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for looking after Your kids and directing our paths. As we watch, listen, or read the news, the media is usually devoid of good news, but rather we hear about corruption, murder, terrorism, greed, and bickering politicians. How marvelous that an announcement made by an angel some 2000 years ago would bring great joy not only for the people of that generation, but it continues to resound even to our generation and those that will follow. Your coming to earth brings great joy and provides eternal hope to all who believe on You. Today I will not walk under the cloud of bad news but I will soar above the clouds because my steps are ordered by You, not by the news of the day. You are my strength, my hope and my deep, abiding joy! Therefore I will praise You all the day! Thank You Jesus the sacrificial Lamb. It is in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, though yesterday was not actually the birthday of our Saviors birth, we’re so thankful for Jesus whose infant birth took place in a smelly stable and whose bed was a feeding trough padded with stubbly straw and hay. It was certainly not a welcome setting for the infant born King but we can now see the stable as a composite of this unwelcoming world toward King Jesus. We’re so glad that He was willing to come to earth though He would be rejected by the vast majority from every generation. Yet we gratefully number among the many who receive Him as our personal Savior. We thank You that He came to deliver us from our fears and release us from our sins. Through Your own eternal Spirit rule in our hearts today and raise us to Your glorious throne on Your appointed day. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, how grateful we are that Jesus came into this world to save sinners; to turn despair to hope, darkness to light, and death to life. All that we have need of and presently rely on is supplied for us in abundance from Your generous Hand. You are worthy of our trust and deserving of our fully surrendered life. From the cradle to the cross Jesus is Lord of Heaven and Lord of earth. We celebrate the birth of Your Son, Jesus, our Savior, and give thanks for all that He means to us and we pray this prayer in His name. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are the same today as You were thousands of years ago. You do not change. Just like when the angels’ made the announcement to the shepherds is the same announcement heralded in the hearts of men and women, boys and girls who choose to accept Christ as their Lord, “A Savior has been born to you.” We set Him apart in our hearts from the common, ordinary things of life, for He is the Master of not only the universe, but He chooses to reign in our lives. We’re so grateful for His completed mission on earth where He was rocked in a holy cradle, ridiculed on a hostile cross and restored to His Heavenly throne. “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace!” dwell in our hearts we pray. We praise You Jesus and it is in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, there is nothing we can do in our own power or charm to receive Your favor, but we do receive Your forgiveness as we believe on Jesus and the wondrous work of His redemption through death on a cross. Because we choose to receive the King, we are no longer orphans or outcasts but are adopted into the royal lineage of Jesus, the eternal King of kings and Lord of lords. And because we are now Your sons and daughters; You sent the Spirit of Your Son into our hearts, who calls out, “Abba, Father” bringing us to the very heart of who You are, our loving, compassionate Father. We are eternally grateful. In the name of Jesus, my Savoir I ask. Amen. Heavenly Father, without the shed blood of Your Son, Jesus, we are weighed down by the shackles of sin. It spreads as a disease from our hearts to our minds separating us from our Creator and making us a bond slave to Satan. Thank You for sending Jesus, who by His intense love and sacrificial death, freed us from the sin that ensnared us. He turned our mourning into dancing as He lifted our condemnation replacing it with eternal hope. Thank You for the Christ of Christmas who shines His light for all to see and offers everlasting freedom to all held captive by sin. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. |
