Heavenly Father, this generation wants everything yesterday. Lord, I praise You for working on my lack of patience with people and situations. Lord, far too often we want quick fixes or to know the exact means in which You are going to work a matter out in our lives. But even as the Gospel is in ways a mystery unfolding, so is Your leading in our lives. If we had it all figured out and knew exactly how everything was going to fall into place, we’d be walking by sight rather than trusting by faith. We know that “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we cannot see.” Lord, Reassure our hearts as we keep the words of Solomon before us, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” May Your Voice of Truth always be our guide in testing the spirits of those who are quick to say, “Thus saith the Lord” or “God told me…” If they are truly Your prophetic messengers their actions and words will be confirmed through Scripture. Jesus, I ask this prayer in You precious name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, this world is changing for the worse each day, We see a government with no moral standards. We see all the evil that Jesus and many prophets warned about and said would come in the last days. Lord, let the truly saved come forth and preach You Word to this dying world. Let them be bold, as John the Baptist did, preaching repentance. Lord God, we pray for Holy Spirit power to enable us to give godly counsel based upon Your inerrant and unchanging Scripture. It is not from the media, current polls, or popular personalities that most form their opinions. We acknowledge that Satan is the god of this age, plotting to confuse, distort and mislead. Our confidence is firmly established in the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures which are able to make us wise for salvation. They inspire, teach, convict, correct, comfort and model for us the way we’re to live our earthly life. May we never sugar coat Your commands because we want to please others who differ with Your authority. We want to honor Your Word in all we say and do. As we look in the mirror of truth, help it to reflect this godly intent. If the reflection shows otherwise, help us to make the necessary changes in accordance with Your Word. We can be assured of Your eternal encouragement and good hope as it encourages our hearts and strengthens us in every good deed and word. It is through Christ Jesus our Lord that we pray in faith believing that You turn tragedy into triumph, as You work out all things together for our good. Amen. Heavenly Father, what a promise we can find in the book of Hebrew. We find that the writer, being led by the Holy Spirit said "We have this confidence as a sure and strong anchor for our lives. This confidence goes into the holy place behind the curtain where Jesus went before us on our behalf. He has become the chief priest forever in the way Melchizedek was a priest." Lord, just as an anchor is standard safety equipment for a boat to remain afloat against powerful tides of water, Jesus is the anchor for our soul, keeping us steadfast and hopeful when the strong tides of doubt, disappointment and fear seek to overtake us. So many drift aimlessly day in and day out uncertain of their present and future standing while we, as believers, anchor fast to the Rock which cannot move, because it’s grounded firm and deep in our Savior’s love whose daily provision protects, encourages, and leads us to the heavenly shore where storms will one day be all past forevermore. Lord. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus, my rock, my anchor, my King and my Savoir. Amen. Heavenly Father, we rest in what You have done for us in the past. We trust You for what You are doing presently in our lives and for what You are going to do in the future as we place our full confidence in You. We have no confidence in the flesh because our weaknesses quickly sabotage our good intentions. As we hold tightly to the hope we have in You we may feel the turbulent winds of adversity but they will not overcome us. You will keep us on course for You who promised are faithful. We hold tightly to Your teachings that upholds us even when we stumble, keeping us from being cast down. We thank You for Jesus who keeps a firm grip on us allowing no enemy to snatch us out of Your hand. We thank You Jesus for being our good Shepard and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, search our hearts and lead us to be the ones that You have called us to be to bring honor and glory to Your name. Lord, let our prayer be to be a people whose hearts and minds are One with Yours. Through our diligent study and application of Your Living Word our thoughts and attitudes are formed. Keep us faithful to the Truth of Your knowledge. We stand in firm opposition to the world’s substitutes; the acceptance, condoning, and celebration of what You describe as sin. The world may dress it up, even make it appealing, and cover up the disastrous results it brings on the individual, his or her family and society at large. Help us to read, retain and regard Your knowledge as our pattern for life. In the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, we go through many things here on earth and because You did not create us as puppets, or robots we can make our own choices. Lord my choice is to follow You and may my life be marked by faithfulness and integrity. I know that these character traits are not developed over a short period of time but over the duration of my life, most especially during the challenging times. Obedience does bring blessing and it does bring eternal reward. Help me not to become weary in doing good, for at the proper time that You have ordained, I will reap a harvest if I do not give up. In Jesus name I thank and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I have been praying as to what to teach on Sunday, I thought it would be on the power of our tongue, but You had another plan. Glory to You my Lord. Lord, I pray to You now and use this prayer also as a teaching tool to all that read it and that we see this come to pass for Your honor and glory. Lord, may words of encouragement, comfort, instruction, and exhortation flow from our lips so that we may spur others on in the faith, most especially our own children and grandchildren. We pray that You would help Christian mothers and fathers everywhere to verbalize their faith and live in a way that honors You and shows others where their source of strength lies. Help them to be the spiritual leaders of their homes so that a harvest of righteousness and peace will be upon their households. We pray this in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, You not only will deliver those that trust in You from our difficulties in due time, but will give them grace to bear up under their trials in the meantime. Lord, it seems that each new day brings changes, some of which we welcome but others that bring uncertainty and even dread. How wonderful to know that You are our Rock and our Shield upholding us with Your gracious right hand. No night is so dark that the light of Your Son, Jesus, does not penetrate the darkness that would otherwise over take us. Keep us joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen. Heavenly Father, through Jesus my Lord and Savior, I have the privlage of prayer to help me. I have His peace to keep me. His presence to accompany me. His example to follow. He calms me and strengthens me and I can trust Him to provide for me. Halleluiah. Lord, we need our minds stirred up by those things which are true, honorable, right and pure. Stimulate our minds to wholesome thinking as we consider Your Word which not only purifies us within, but also guides us as we develop godly character. Help us to maintain a teachable heart that is open to a new perspective on ancient truth but is also blessed when we receive the reminders of truths well established in our life. Remind us often that our words and actions give us opportunity to bring You glory as we reflect Your image. In Jesus name, Amen. Heavenly Father, I love it when I stop and think back about my life and when certain circumstances show me just how much You do love us and in those circumstances, it could only have been You that saw me through. I also think about the people You bring alongside us on our path of suffering who bring us comfort, assurance, and encouragement. They know just what to say or do that lifts our spirit to give us courage for another day just like Onesiphorus refreshed Paul while he was in chains. In some cases, it is their own gracious example of suffering that teaches us a great deal without their saying a word. But there are those instances when we grow fearful, doubtful, and wonder if You’re mindful of our suffering and, if so, why you don’t eliminate it. But until our suffering is over we thank you for those who come to refresh us. We see in the book of Psalms where David went through this. Lord, we, too, need to be the ones who refresh others who are weary, sick, or struggling in some way. Bring those individuals to our mind so that we can reach out to them and refresh their spirit while reminding them of their importance in our lives and most importantly, You Jesus and Your perfect plan and love for them. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
