Merciful Father, we thank You for the love You extend toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. It was necessary for our salvation, so that we might have abundant life here on earth and a future inheritance in heaven. Because of Adam’s disobedience we are all born into sin, but because You gave Your only Son, Jesus, and because He obediently sacrificed His life on the cross we have forgiveness of sins and are made righteous through His divine, loving act. Though we are born into Adam’s race we gratefully receive Your redeeming grace through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as children of the light, we no longer desire the attitudes or behavior we practiced when living in ignorance where darkness reigns. After dying to self You took up residence and equipped us with the necessary tools to battle our struggle against sin. Help us to throw off everything that hinders, entangles, or identifies us with the enemy. Your discipline is always right and good for us because it means we will share in Your holiness. Self-control is a difficult exercise since it requires self-denial, restraint and full surrender to You. The reward follows as we enjoy a wonderful harvest of right living. Not only will it benefit us personally, but it will result in a testimony of thanksgiving to You, make us more like Christ and be an example to those we seek to influence. We ask Your help in the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, how special it is to know that I will not appear as a stranger before You in heaven, but You know me and will call me to Yourself by name for You are thoroughly acquainted with me. As a loving father cares for his child so You care for me, Your child bought by the blood of Jesus. You place me securely in the palm of Your hand so that no enemy can snatch me from Your protective and loving care. What a tremendous feeling of stability and peace this brings to my heart in a world that is becoming more impersonal, chaotic, and unhinged from the firm foundations established by Your eternal Word. Of this I am certain; Jesus knows me and this I love! In His precious name I pray. Amen.” Heavenly Father, the philosophies, trends, and mind-set of the world stands in great contrast to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your Word tells us that those who do not stand with You are against You. We can’t walk on both sides of the fence so we are faced with a choice we must make; the same kind of choice Joshua gave to the Israelites 3,400 years ago. We must choose whether to follow after the gods of this world and forsake You or we must forsake the world and devote ourselves to You. Father, I choose to follow after You; You who reconciled me to Yourself through Jesus. You have proven Yourself trustworthy for Your promises are true. You provide the power and presence of Your Holy Spirit to lead and direct my every path. I choose You today, exclusively and eternally! In the name Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we now see through a mirror dimly and now know only a small part. Thank you for that future time when we shall see and know fully. In the meantime help us to keep the faith and live in obedience to your revelation even when we may not understand and even if it goes against the grain of culture. Fill our hearts with an assurance of Your steadfast love and care. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your Word consistently call Your creation to praise you. During these trying times, help us today to lift Your Name on high and sing Your praises. As this country awaits the results of the election, let us remember Jesus is King. Lord, help me cope with the words and thoughts that I need to proclaim Your name with ones that think they serve You though they are okay with electing people who are okay with the things that are an abomination to You. Help me show pastors and church goers who have signs from a particular party on their lawns that they are wrong and have bought into the lies from the devil. Help me be more boldly teaching Your Word, but always in love. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Lord Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. You’ve given us the roadmap to follow through the guidance of Your Holy Scriptures. You’ve established that Your way is the only way to eternal life. It is the only way that we can have victory in our walk here on earth and the assurance of a victorious eternity in heaven. Just as John the Baptist went before You preparing straight paths, I thank You for going before me preparing the way for my journey. Though Scripture describes the Christian’s walk as being a straight and narrow path it certainly has steep inclines and its route will also take me through deep valleys. If I wander off-course I’m grateful for Your Holy Spirit who reminds me of my commitment to follow You and the importance of my example to those who walk beside me or behind me. Let us not veer from our heavenly destination. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are privileged to vote on this historic election day. Our country is deeply divided, our biblical values are assaulted daily, and our personal freedoms are diminishing year after year. Yet we still have a voice in the electing of our governing officials. We pray for discernment in voting for our country’s leadership, from the highest office level to small town officials. We pray for our godly candidates that want to make a spiritual impact in the prevailing secularism of our land. Like Joseph, Daniel, David, and Paul, who influenced the government of their day, we pray for wise, fierce, and courageous leaders who will uphold standards that align with Scripture, that will seek to change laws that intimidate or penalize believers who practice their faith in the public arena. No matter the election outcome our trust is fixed on You, both here and now and for all eternity. Our eyes are focused on You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank you that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. What a blessing Your redemption is to all of us who have experienced it. We especially pray today for the ministry taking place in prisons all around the world. It can be very hard and discouraging but we thank You for those who are being redeemed and experiencing the wonder of new life. You continue to seek and save the lost and to break the chains that bind us. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we recognize from Scripture that You long to be gracious to Your children, to show them compassion and give them direction. You bless those who wait upon You. Though you give us the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, you also give us teachers, prophets, and believing friends who affirm or challenge us as we seek Your face and Your will for our lives. As we hold up the lamp of Your Word to lighten the path before us, how good it is to hear Your voice behind us saying, “This is the way, walk in it”. You’ve promised that You will never leave us or forsake us. Darkness will not overtake us, for You are the Light of the World, and in You there is no darkness at all. Thank You for Your reassuring presence that You walk with us step by step on this day of our journey. Help us to understand the necessity and blessing of flexibility. We’re in route now but we’re assured that our final destination will have an eternal glorious address where our dwelling will be with You in heaven forevermore. Thank You Jesus in Your name we pray. Amen. |
