Heavenly Father, just as Scripture indicates that Your Spirit who dwells within us is greater than the spirit dwelling in the world, so also the good that dwells within us is greater than the evil from the world. In our human nature we cannot overcome evil, but through our spiritual nature we conquer the ever present evil with the all-powerful good that comes from Your Holy Spirit residing within our hearts. We choose to hate evil and cling to that which is good and thereby overcome evil with good. We go forth as conquerors in the power of Jesus Christ, and it is by His name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, You chose to bless Isaac as he followed Your commands. In Gerar You instructed him, “Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands.” You made his descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and gave them all these lands. Through his offspring, because Abraham obeyed You and did everything You required of him, You provided for Isaac because He trusted You to keep Your promises. We, too can flourish, in our little spot in the world by trusting You for everything we have need of as we walk in obedience to You. We especially flourish as we extend ourselves and our possessions to others such as Isaac. In counting our blessings help us to bless others in the way You have blessed us. In the name of Yeshua we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, any words we speak or analogies we use cannot fully describe your infinite mighty power and matchless grace. It miraculously reaches beyond the heavens, is visible throughout all the earth, and is resident within our own hearts. It is only in experiencing a personal relationship with you that we begin to tap into the inexhaustible power and grace that comes from You, Almighty God. Even as the waves of the ocean are constant and powerful and wash up on shore, may You fill our lives to overflowing grace so that Your mighty presence is visible in our lives and spills out to those around us. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen. Heavenly Father, through the knowledge of Your Scriptures, through the application of its truths, and through the power of Your Holy Spirit we can resist the enemy of our souls. When our faith is tested, which is of greater worth than gold, it is done so to test that our faith is genuine. Since faith that is not tested is faith that cannot be trusted, help us to remember that when the enemy is persistently prowling, You are inviting us to prove our faith to be genuine which will help fortify us for future testings and serve as a witness to others that we are who we claim to be, people of faith. Help us also to remember that not only are we undergoing trial, but believers all throughout the world are undergoing the same sufferings or far worse. We want to resist the devil, standing firm in the faith, knowing that the testing of our faith produces endurance and empathy for others who suffer. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we want to enjoy the lasting pleasure of doing that which is right as we look ahead to our eternal reward. As some of us remember brother Harold who passed last Sunday, it was obvious that he surely loved You. Our lives are but a whirlwind, here today and gone tomorrow. Nothing in all of this temporal world can compare to the sin-free splendor of heaven or hearing Your words of commendation, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” May we never lose sight of why we were created nor what our purpose is which is to honor and glorify You. We thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus who died on the cross for our sins; past, present and future. It was but a short time that He was held captive to the power of death, but He will die no more. Jesus is alive forevermore, and we who express godly faith will live forever with Him, because Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. As we believe on Him, though we may die a mortal death, we shall yet live an immortal life. Jesus holds the keys to the invisible world which will one day be made visible to all creation. He also holds the key to our heart’s door, but will only turn that key when we invite His entrance. Today we not only invite Jesus to enter but we welcome His residency as His Holy Spirit constantly abides with us, guiding us into all truth. We love You, Father, and we come to You through Your Son, Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, many people spend their entire lives accumulating that which perishes at the end of our lives. We, too, as believers get caught up in earthly possessions as they require a great deal of our time and often tug at our heart strings for misplaced value in this life. But our possessions on this side pale in comparison to knowing You and Your great love for us. Turn our eyes from that which is worthless and toward that which is eternally preserved for us in heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are our guide; that our footsteps are ordered by You. Though we stumble or fall, we are not cast down for You uphold us with Your righteous right hand. In ourselves we may be clumsy, weak, or nearsighted, but following You, our Great Shepherd through dangers, toils and snares to the high places of Your love, we will be like that of hind’s feet in high places. When we unexpectedly find ourselves in a fallen position we feel pretty foolish and somewhat helpless though usually we bounce right back to an upward position. But there are times, Lord, when we get trapped in a fallen position and especially need Your help and even assistance from others to help us walk upright again. When we’re in a fallen position spiritually, Lord, it is Your hand that we reach for. You do not abandon us nor cast us down for You only want to lift us up again. Our hope is in You alone so help us to cling tightly to Your hand as we walk the potholed terrain of this life. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is under Your wings that we are protected against the fierce wind currents of doubt, fear, and impatience. Such troubling emotions weigh us down and can pull us right into the path of a pelting storm. But it is through eyes of faith and a heart of trust that we can mount up with You and soar like eagles above the assaulting storm and wait it out until the rainbow appears; Your divine covenant of promise, written out in all the colors that are pleasing to behold. You promise never to leave us nor forsake us which gives us courage to wait and trust You to fully answer our prayers. It is in the name of Jesus that we pray. Amen. Father, our hope plummets and our souls despair when we consider the first portion of John 10:10; “The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy”, for it describes our arch enemy whose sole mission is to take anything and everything that is of importance and value from us. But the gloom and despair is lifted as Jesus further tells His listeners, “but I have come to give life and give it more abundantly.” The thief takes, but You give, for You are the giver of life, giving freely and abundantly, not only in this life but in the life to come. Thank You for defeating the enemy of our soul that seeks to destroy with his arsenal of distraction, denial, downplay and distortion. You don’t tear down but build us up for You are our Redeemer and Deliverer, for which we are thankful. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. |
