Heavenly Father, I confess that in the process of being molded and fashioned into Your likeness I am often unyielding and struggle in the process of becoming more like You. Thank You for placing people in my life who model godly character and who courageously speak words of direction and correction when I most need it. Help me to graciously receive these messengers and promptly respond to the message they bring when it is supported Scripturally and spoken from a wise and loving heart. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Your divine workmanship prepares me for good works in Christ Jesus. The tools You use to chisel, sculpt and fine tune my life are of Your choosing and for my good. The workmanship can be painful and mysterious at times, but when I walk by faith I can see more clearly how You are shaping me into the image of Christ Jesus. When I stop to consider all that You have done for me, in me, and through me I truly am in awe! Be glorified in my life, I pray. In the name of Jesus I ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, I pray for the courage and conviction to stand up for You and respond, “I choose to obey God rather than men!” when confronted by authority that contradicts or rebels against Your commands. May I be found faithful in standing up for that which is right, rather than that which puts me in good standing with the crowds. Give me the courage to be like the apostles who counted themselves worthy to suffer disgrace for the Name of Christ. For it is in His name that I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are shaped and molded by Your Holy Word, through the Spirit living within us, and by the people You place in our earthly journey who take us under their spiritual wings as they impart truth in our lives. Their example, their teaching, their prayers, and their love for us further shape and mold us to be more like You. We thank You for these precious people of the faith. Just as they have been faithful to pray for us in our time of need, we lift them up to You and ask You to meet their every need. Encourage them in the faith so that they keep their eyes on the goal of the heavenly prize. We also pray for all whom we have impacted and are now impacting. May they in turn impact others. Some glad day we will all be united in heaven where we will forever worship You, King of kings and Lord of lords. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You for our labor by day and rest by night. From the beginning of time you raised up laborers who were skilled in various trades: construction workers, artisans, jewel cutters, bakers, instrumentalists, designers, seamstresses, and on and on the list goes for that which You have equipped people to do right on down to working with our modern technology so relied upon today. We thank You for those who labor on our behalf and we thank You for those whom we labor for. It’s in both giving and receiving that we have various duties and receive multiple blessings for which we are thankful. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, because the Scripture tells us so much about our future eternal home, may we find ourselves homesick for a place we’ve never been. Remind us that you want us to live as strangers in this world in reverential fear toward You, our holy God! Our hopes, our affections and our joys will be fully realized on the other side where Jesus will wipe away the tears from our eyes and we will know no sorrow, no suffering, no good-byes and no sin. Can’t wait but will endure till we make it home! In the name above all other names. Amen. Heavenly Father, we want to be faithful to the truth by walking in Your truth. Scripture warns repeatedly of Satan’s tactics to manipulate, distort and deceive believers so we must be on our guard against deception, as it comes in many forms and through various messengers. Sometimes we shake our heads in wonderment that people fall for such foolish and unsubstantiated information and then repeat it to others. But we shouldn’t be surprised “for the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds that they should not discern the truth.” We seek to follow the true God of this universe, rather than the false god of this age so that we will not be led astray. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the old saying “sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me” could not be further from the truth. The words we speak and the body language we use can either build people up or tear them down. That’s why we must not let unwholesome talk come out of our mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Help us to be kind and compassionate, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, You chose to forgive us. Help us to be careful in not carrying a chip on our shoulder, or look for fault in others. We want to be careful to give the benefit of the doubt. We want to live a life of love just as You loved us. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen. Jesus, You are higher than the highest, greater than the great. No one will ever take Your crown away. You’re more mighty than the mightiest, You reign from above. You are higher than the highest, greater than the great. No one will ever take Your crown away. You’re the all-time undisputed, undefeated Champion of Love. For this we are grateful and will adore You for all eternity. Amen. Heavenly Father, may my life be marked by faithfulness and integrity. I know that these character traits are not developed over a short period of time but over the duration of my life, most especially during the challenging times. Obedience does bring blessing and it also brings eternal reward. Help me not to become weary in doing good, for at the proper time that You have ordained, I will reap a harvest if I do not give up. Help me to practice the small steadiness of every day. In the name of Christ Jesus I pray. Amen. |
