Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us enough to warn repeatedly of impending judgment and for showing us the right path of life. Help us to realize this is no joking matter. Keep us alert, listening, faithful in obedience and growing in the process. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, when we take up the full armor of God, we are able to stand even as the fiery darts of the devil are hurled in our direction. As we consider those who are standing for the right and being attacked by the enemy we lift them up in prayer and esteem them as people of solid integrity. Though at the present their circumstances may make them feel less than victorious, soon theirs will be the victory march. For when we are not hesitant to proclaim the whole will of God we truly are victorious, when we have not allowed the enemy to overcome us, but we instead overcome our enemy. Keep us faithful, trusting, and demonstrating in love the whole will of God. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it's sad to hear and see many who are opting for silence in so many of the morale issues to keep from rocking the boat. After all who wants to be labeled hateful? Sadly this seems to be the dominant response in our age. But a faithful witness for Christ demands a voice of truth. Lord, I pray for the courage and conviction to stand up for You and respond, “I choose to obey God rather than men!” when confronted by authority that contradicts or rebels against Your commands. May I be found faithful in standing up for that which is right, rather than that which puts me in good standing with the crowds. Give me the courage to be like the apostles who counted themselves worthy to suffer disgrace for the Name of Christ. For it is in His name that I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are shaped and molded by Your Holy Word, through the Spirit living within us, and by the people You place in our earthly journey who take us under their spiritual wings as they impart truth in our lives. Their example, their teaching, their prayers, and their love for us further shape and mold us to be more like You. We thank You for these precious people of the faith. Just as they have been faithful to pray for us in our time of need, we lift them up to You and ask You to meet their every need. Encourage them in the faith so that they keep their eyes on the goal of the heavenly prize. We also pray for all whom we have impacted and are now impacting. May they in turn impact others. Some glad day we will all be united in heaven where we will forever worship You, King of kings and Lord of lords. Lord we also pray for those that have been in the path of hurricane Dorian. Lord, we can see the horrific scenes in the Bahamas from this storm. We pray that You bring comfort, peace, and a growing trust in You to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one(s) and loss of their familiar and comfortable way of life. May those who are reaching out to these very needy people be encouraged by the difference they are making. Bless the Christian teams who are providing relief as they lovingly share of their faith giving hope to those who otherwise feel their lives are hopeless due to their present circumstances. Provide the funds, the materials, and the people needed to rebuild and restore the lives of those adversely affected by the destruction and ruin. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, there is a place of quiet rest and spiritual uplifting when we draw near to You and for me that is when I am in my garden, driving alone, or when everyone is in bed and I am working on sermons. That is when my mind is quiet. So many activities, attractions, and affections rival for our attention, even things of the past which we can do nothing about. Show us how to live without being overshadowed by sorrowful regrets of the past. When worries of our present life start to choke us remind us to start praising You, so that the fears and troubles that can bind us rendering us powerless can be dropped at the foot of the cross. And draw our eyes upward to the throne of grace where we can find help in our time of need as we bless and praise Your holy name. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the old saying “sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me” could not be further from the truth. The words we speak and the body language we use can either build people up or tear them down. Bless or curse. That’s why we must not let unwholesome talk come out of our mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Help us to be kind and compassionate, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, You chose to forgive us. Help us to be careful in not carrying a chip on our shoulder, or look for fault in others. We want to be careful to give the benefit of the doubt. We want to live a life of love just as You loved us. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You that we have the privilege of working with our hands and engaging our minds. Work is ordained by you and carried out in our homes and places of employment. Help us to make a positive difference as we live out our Christian testimony while diligently performing our work duties. There is no perfect workplace yet we, as people who seek to honor You, will be able to deal with less than ideal circumstances as we do our work primarily for You, knowing that it is from You that we receive the reward You grant to those who are diligent and faithful. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I love Your Word as it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. We thank You for the New Testament Scriptures that highlight the many miracles of Jesus as He made Himself available to the common people, the sick people, and even the people driven mad by demons. Not only did You break the chains and fetters that people used to bind the demon possessed Gerasene when he was out of his mind, but You broke the chains and fetters that bound him to the evil control of Satan. He had a great, miraculous story of deliverance to spread throughout the community and in his own home. Our stories may seem to us much less spectacular, but when our bonds of sin are broken our deliverance is just as miraculous. So we pray for courage and motivation to share Your love by telling what You have done for us. We want to share Your love by sharing of our faith so that we show the world that Jesus Christ is real to us every moment, every day. It is by His name I pray this prayer. Amen. Heavenly Father, help us to be team workers who are diligent, prepared, strong, resourceful and wise in all our endeavors. These characteristics common to the ant are of great benefit to us as we follow Your daily leading in our lives. We thank You for the ability to work physically and to enjoy the reward of our labor. We’re grateful to You for supplying all that we have need of. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. |
