Heavenly Father, when we take up the full armor of God, we are able to stand even as the fiery darts of the devil are hurled in our direction. As we consider those who are standing for the right and being attacked by the enemy we lift them up in prayer and esteem them as people of solid integrity. Though at the present their circumstances may make them feel less than victorious, soon theirs will be the victory march. For when we are not hesitant to proclaim the whole will of God we truly are victorious, when we have not allowed the enemy to overcome us, but we instead overcome our enemy. Keep us faithful, trusting, and demonstrating in love the whole will of God. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I ask myself, “Am I living in a manner worthy of Your name? Do I seek to please You rather than myself? Does the fruit of my labor reflect the Spirit of Christ living within my heart? Do I have a zeal for the things of Christ and a desire to know Him better, to reflect His character every day in my life? Am I steady or do I sputter in my Christian influence?” Father, in all these things I want to be more like Christ, consistent in the ways that bring glory to Your name and growth in my spiritual nature. I want my spiritual walk to be the most important pursuit of my life as I journey here below so that I may influence as many as possible to live for Jesus. It is in His name that I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, how grateful we are for those who have made the most of their opportunities to share their wisdom; wisdom that comes from Your Word as well as those along the way who’ve been our role models and loving caregivers. We pray that our conversation would be full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that we might speak words that not only build others up but also benefits them according to their needs. At the time it might feel like salt being poured into their wound but You use salt for healing, and if the hearer is receptive and willing to make needed changes You guide them in doing so. May we help others even as You brought people in our lives who helped us. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I have so many things going on whether it be in my personal life, projects needed to be done for others, things needed to be done at home before winter comes and I am dependent on others whose no are nos and yes means no. Father, let be be constantly reminded often, whether our trials are emotional, physical, spiritual, financial or relational we need to be absolutely dependent on You for everything that we have need of. When we rely on our own intellect, past experience or natural giftings we miss the opportunity to see Your will perfected in our lives as we work matters out in our own limited strength and faulty wisdom. You work in the supernatural realm while we are confined to the natural unless we welcome Your power to be manifested in our lives. Help us not to resent or be embarrassed by our weaknesses, but to invite Your Holy Spirit power to work through them, so that we can learn endurance, find strength, glorify You, and be an example to others undergoing trial. Amen. Heavenly Father, we give You all the glory for You have done great things; things so great they are far beyond the scope, understanding, knowledge or creativity granted to us, Your creation. So we praise You for all that You provide us, all that is ours to hold in our hands, see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and taste with our tongue. But purer and higher and greater than all these wonderful things will be the moment that Christ returns for His children. He will be our wonder, our transport, from our swift sojourn here on earth to our eternal dwelling in the heavens. Keep us faithful till that appointed hour. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for the messages that You have been giving me to teach about how to please You. Lord, I pray that the room today will be filled with those that are hungry for more of You that will not be only hearers of You Word, but doers of Your Word. Jesus, thank You for Your indwelling Spirit that replaces my sinful nature with that of a spiritual nature. I no longer desire the temporary pleasures the world offers, but even as I walk in Your ways year after year, I’m keenly aware that sin is crouching at the door of my heart, always ready to make habitation if invited to come in. Alert my eyes to the strategic warfare of Satan. I want to be vigilant in guarding my heart against his cunning assault. I want to heed the many warnings You give us in Scripture as well as godly messengers who keep watch over my soul. With Your blood applied to the doorpost of my heart, I am purified by Your holiness, and want to stand firm to the end! In You name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You see us in our hour of need. You look beyond our supposed prestige, our accumulation of material goods, any earthly titles or accomplishments we’ve earned. You perceive our thoughts from afar and know the very intent of our hearts. The searchlight of Your Word reveals anything that separates us from You. Thank You that we can be reconciled to You and experience forgiveness of sins through the redeeming blood of Jesus. The riches of Your grace far exceeds the fleeting riches this world has to offer. You lead us in the way everlasting as we earnestly seek You. We desire to see Jesus more than anything this world offers. It is in His name we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we go through life, mysteries abound and always have due to our finite understanding. One of the greatest blessings of following You is that, though we don’t have full understanding about a matter, we can trust You since You are the Alpha and Omega, and You know the end from the beginning. We acknowledge that Your ways are higher and wiser than ours. We find comfort as we’re reminded that You promise to care for us in the midst of our heartaches and in the unraveled mysteries that could otherwise bog us down or lead us toward unbelief. Help us to be careful in judging others, when dealt with unpleasant circumstances, since You are present in the good and bad that visits us and You can use either for Your glory and for our growth. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I separate myself from the distracting desires and destructive deeds that pull me back into the world where Satan rules with his power of darkness. No longer do I seek after that which gratifies only the flesh, but I find lasting satisfaction in that which feeds my soul and guides me all the days of my life. There is absolutely nothing of worth here on earth that equals the gift of salvation through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ which also includes the bonus of eternity in heaven. In His name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we could be driven to despair in the midst of the evil that surrounds us if we didn’t walk in the light of Your truth. We walk in the true wisdom that comes from heaven, not in the flawed wisdom that comes from the world. Help us to make the most of every opportunity to stand up for divine truth in our minds, through our speech and by our actions. Help us to be faithful in passing on our faith to the next generation. We want to be the light that shines forth in the creeping darkness of our land so that we can show others the way to eternal life. Lord, I think of the thousands upon thousands of lives turned upside down after the terrorist attack of 9-11 eighteen years ago today. Such evil is barbaric, senseless and brings about grief that is unending all these years later. As believers we can still trust Your plan, that You are working out Your purpose in our lives for our eternal good and for Your eternal kingdom. But we pray for those individuals who are inconsolable on this side. May they bring to You their wounded hearts, tell You of their unending anguish, and find consolation in the truth that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. In the name of Your dear Son, Jesus, we pray. Amen. |
