Heavenly Father, help me to thirst and hunger for Your Living Word where I find convincing truths to assure me, “This is the way. Walk in it.” I want to keep my heart fixed upon You and my mind certain of Your truths in this age where false religions abound and the broad way continues to widen. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and I gain entry to You, my Father, only through Jesus the Son. I’ve got a made up mind and I’m going to follow You during the good and the bad times, the lean and plentiful times. Whether I stand with many or whether I stand alone, I choose to wholeheartedly follow You because I have unwavering commitment. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path giving direction when I would otherwise be led astray. Help me to daily remember that You do the leading and I do the following, since You know all things including the past, present and future. In Your infinite knowledge and wisdom You watch over me, care for my needs, and remind me of the very important command, “Do not be dismayed for I am your God.” Sometimes we become discouraged and confused about matters that make no sense to us which leads us to doubt and second guess Your overall plan. But in Your omniscience You remind us that You are our God, You know all things, You will strengthen and uphold us by Your righteous right hand. Infinite God, we are thankful to You! In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it was faithful Joshua who issued this challenge to the Israelites: “Choose this day whom you will serve.” He reminded them that their fathers, before crossing over the Red Sea, lived among those who worshiped heathen gods in Egypt just as they now lived among the Amorites who worshiped heathen gods. This passage serves as an example to those of us currently experiencing the results of a pluralistic society where God our Creator is being viewed as just one of the gods we might be devoted to. But we, with uncompromising conviction, hold steady to the words of Scripture, “that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no other.” Like the followers in Scripture, “We want our hearts therefore to be wholly true to the Lord our God, walking in His statutes and keeping His commandments.” If it requires that we lay down our life for You, may we do so willingly, knowing that full obedience to You on this side brings great reward in the eternal dwelling that follows. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it’s easy to imagine nature praising You as the song birds trill their many canticles, as the wind blows upon the airy leaves and the branches of the trees clap in praise to You. Observing the clear, gushing water as it surges over the boulders, rocks and stones is so invigorating, but as much as we enjoy experiencing nature as You created it, You even more so enjoy hearing the praises of Your created beings above any other natural creation, since we are created in Your own image. I choose to be a joyful, enthusiastic and consistent worshiper who gives You praise not only with my lips but with my life since I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me strength. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we don’t want unwholesome conversation or meaningless verbiage to fall from our lips, but rather we want to build others up according to their needs that it may benefit them. One of the ways we express genuine interest and compassion to others is by telling them of Jesus the Messiah, much like the disciple Andrew did. Right after finding who Jesus was the first thing he did was to tell his brother, Peter, of the good news. Their lives were forever changed. May the words we speak, the lives we live, and the time we spend with others bring about a harvest of souls so that the kingdom of God is made known to those who would otherwise be lost. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we’re told to do everything without complaining, so that we shine like stars in the universe. We know that people are drawn to light where brightness is present and warmth is extended. Help our conversation to be full of grace, tenderness, light, and truth so that we will positively affect those around us. May we be as a sweet aroma to You and those whom we meet on our life’s journey. Give us an enduring spirit when matters press in on us and grace to see us through to victory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. |
