Heavenly Father, through You I can do all things. I am strong in You and the power of Your might. Lord, there are people that I will see today. Some that know You and others, because of lack of good fruit showing in their lives, probably don't know You. Lord, I pray that my words would be words of encouragement, comfort, and exhortation flow from my lips so that I may spur others on in the faith, most especially our own children. We pray that You would help Christian fathers everywhere to verbalize their faith and live in a way that honors You and shows others where their source of strength lies. Help them to be the spiritual leaders of their homes so that a harvest of righteousness and peace will be upon their households. In Jesus name I ask and pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus and I thank you for giving us understanding when plans change. I thank You for bringing the right people in our paths when we need them. Lord, You showed that especially in the last couple days. You are the Father of All Comfort, I look to You for consolation and peace most especially during times of turmoil. Incredibly Your supernatural peace does not depend on the physical circumstances seen by my eyes or heard by my ears. You raise me up out of the gloom of despair as I place my hope not in the visible circumstances, but rather in You who renews my strength. You enable me to soar on wings like eagles far above the troubling circumstances that weigh me down. Keep my eyes, my ears and my heart lifted up to the heavens where Your divine presence combats the assaulting storms of life. I lift up all my brothers and sisters who are storm weary, asking You to renew their strength as You help them to endure the trials of life this day. Your comfort is inexhaustible and Your compassion overflows. Thank You, Lord and I pray this in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for another day You have made. the Scriptures asks, “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” That’s such an important thought-provoking question since we know there are only two paths we must choose from which gives room for two contrasting views. We can enter through the narrow gate which is small and the way is narrow that leads to life. Few look for this path so they can easily miss this narrow entrance to eternal life. Sadly, the vast majority enter the gate that is wide and the way that is broad that leads to destruction. We must be in alliance with the one we walk alongside lest we clash with conflicting viewpoints and contrasting goals. Grant us discernment, discipline, and direction when choosing our life partner, business associate or any other person in which we must unite in making decisions. For those who are presently unequally yoked grant them grace to live carefully, watching their lives and doctrine closely, so that they will positively influence their partner, co-worker or family member to consider the claims of the Gospel which may ultimately lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It’s in His name that we pray, Amen. For those that have been following J and L Ministries and these prayers that I post each morning, my wife and I will be traveling these next couple days to attend a funereal of a young man that died from a seizure. I would ask you all to please be in prayer for the boys family for peace, comfort and understanding. Please also pray for us as it is about a 12 to 13 hour drive away. Thank You and may the Lord bless you in His abundance, Jim Heavenly Father, we come to You with praise today. We will be eternally grateful that You sent Jesus to earth to seek and to save those lost in their transgressions and sins. You received people like Nicodemus, a man of authority, who secretly came to Jesus in the night where he sought answers to life’s most important questions and I pray that this man was saved, as we don't for sure from reading that He made that life changing choice. You sought out people, like the Samaritan woman, despised by the Jews and an outcast among her own as she lived a promiscuous life. Their stories represent various ethnic, economic, and lifestyle choices but the one common thing they shared is true of all humankind. They both had a sin problem that could be cured only by Jesus, the One who wants to heal our soul’s diseases. Thank You for Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God, who came down from heaven, into the world, bearing witness unto the truth that we are indeed sinners in need of forgiveness. Thank You for not only bearing witness but also for providing the answer. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Scripture says it and I believe that great blessing belongs to those who read and understand the Word of God, and more blessed is the man whose life is the practical transcript of Your will as revealed in the Scriptures. The disciples of Christ who sit at His feet and let Him interpret the Word to them are often better skilled in divine things than the doctors of divinity. So fo me, Lord the best way for me to find “the wondrous things” is to saturate the study of the Word in prayer which makes it possible for Christ to speak to me out of the Word, through the Holy Spirit. Lord I ask You to not only open our eyes to that which is around us, but we ask You to open the eyes of our hearts so that we might envision that which is true and that which is false on a spiritual level. May we continue to hide Your Word in our hearts that we might not sin against You. How blessed we are to know that as You reign in our hearts, our spirits bear witness to that which is Scriptural and that which is heresy. May we ever be vigilant in Scripture and fervent in prayer as we encounter the gods of this age. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Heavenly Father, in our Christian walk, life is a warfare, a struggle not only with common calamities and inner desires, but with opposing forces of the powers of darkness which seek to destroy the testimony of the believer. It is therefore requisite that the Christian soldier be stout-hearted and well armed with spiritual weapons which God supplies. The sword of the Spirit and the access of prayer are weapons against which Satan is powerless. Jesus has met Satan at every point and defeated him. It is therefore dangerous for us to be strong except in Him Who is the Victor. Our natural courage is perfect cowardice; our natural strength is perfect weakness, but our sufficiency is always in Him. Father God, we thank You for the spiritual armor that defends us in battle and arms us for the struggle we encounter against the devil’s relentless schemes. This armor enables us to withstand the forces of evil, no matter the means or persons the enemy works through to try to weaken or destroy our faith. In addition to the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit we know that our prayers and petitions are heard by You who intercedes on our behalf before our Father in heaven. We use our armor for protection and we use the sword of the Spirit and prayer for weapons to reveal, attack and defeat Satan’s strongholds. It is through Your name, Jesus, that we are more than conquerors. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is in Christ alone, the first born from the dead, the express image of Jehovah’s glory, that the saints will rise immortal, incorruptible, to be eternally satisfied in heaven. We shall see Him as He is and be made like Him.There is no one or no thing that deserves our complete allegiance, but You, our Lord, Who have the words of eternal life. Though others may refuse to listen or turn away from the message of salvation we choose to persevere. We persevere in trial and in victory, in the ups and downs and in the in-betweens of everyday circumstances. We seek to do Your will in all things so that we will be richly rewarded at the end of this life. In the name of Jesus we persevere. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank Jesus for the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven. In the parable of the sower we learn, just like the persistent weeds, our enemy is ever on the attack trying to choke out the Word of God. Father, we thank You that we can go on the offensive recognizing that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. Help us to be vigilant in sin’s fierce war remembering that the crown awaits the conquest as You lead us by Your glorious might. Help us to do our part in keeping up with the weeds. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for another day You have made. As I spent some time reading Your Word outside this morning, listening to the birds sing their praises, smelling the sweet aroma of the lilacs, I am reminded of your creation an can certainly understand why You said it was very good. Lord, as I rejoice in what You have created, I also know that we can rely on the power of Your Holy Spirit to enable us to give a clear witness of Biblical truth and the Gospel message. We recognize that we must do this not only by what we say verbally, or display in our apparel, plaques, screensavers, or other means of witness. We must also present Your Gospel message by the way we live our lives. May our words complement our actions as we seek to reach this lost and dying world. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, each of us have a gift, or gifts that You have given us. There are so many believers You have gifted with the ability to write meaningful words of praise and testimony that mirror the same expression I have in my heart but am unable to put into words or musical script. Though I’ve not been given this same talent thank you for giving me the ability to sing these songs as they resonate from my heart. I think of King David, the greatest poet of all time, proclaimed over and over again the wonders of Your salvation. May we never tire of this glorious life-changing theme as we sing about the marvelous miracle of salvation day after day. We want to be faithful in sharing with others this. Thank You Lord Jesus and in Your name I pray. Amen. |
