Heavenly Father, help us ignore temptations and keep our focus on You. Though the world can at times be like a bright shining neon light calling for our attention, allegiance, and allotment of time and money we must conform no longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The transformation of our minds involves so much more than following the do’s and don’ts of a particular church or denomination. When our minds are renewed our hearts are informed of that which is holy and that which will draw us deeper and higher in the love of Jesus, His teachings and His example. We will seek that which holds eternal value and reject the worldly influences that draw us back to a sinful lifestyle. We choose not to love the world, or the things of the world but instead we choose to love You, our heavenly Father through Christ Jesus our Redeemer and Savior. It is in His name that we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, You are the Master builder and when You designed us, You had a purpose and and plan. It is an irrefutable spiritual truth that the human spirit is renewed and empowered day by day because Christ has chosen to store His treasure within us, His earthen vessel of clay. It is because this treasure is stored within us that we do not lose hope or give up our faith when adversity strikes. Instead we show that this all-surpassing gift is from You and not of our own origin. We are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us, empowers us, and sustains us through the testing, wearing, chipping, and even the brokenness of our vessels of clay! All glory and praise be to God! Amen. Heavenly Father, each of us should count our family as the most sacred relationship established on earth. You placed us in family units so we can be nurtured in love as we increase in stature and wisdom, while learning responsibility alongside independence in small and big ways. We give thanks to You for Your expressed love shown to us through our parents. For those whose mother or father were absent physically and/or emotionally we’re so blessed and reassured to know that You are a loving Father to the fatherless and motherless, that Your love is all-sufficient to meet our deepest longing and to mend our broken hearts. Thank You for Your sufficient, unending love. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for the new life You gave me almost 20 years ago. I am so thankful that You have a plan for my life and it is good. One of the most wonderful gifts we can receive in this life is finding a loving and faithful companion who will walk beside us through life. One who will encourage us, be fully honest with us, forgive us when we fail, love us even in our unlovely state, one who will be strong when we are weak, lift us up when we fall down, lovingly tend to our needs when we’re sick and unable to care for ourselves, believe in us when we don’t believe in ourselves, one who will lead by example and help kindle spiritual growth in our lives. For all this and so much more we thank You, Father, for the loving companionship of our mate. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for all the people that have been touched by these prayers and I ask that their hearts be joined in agreement with the prayer today. So Father God, we come into Your presence with thanksgiving in our hearts and give You praise. We ask you to be merciful to our land because You are a loving, forgiving God. You have called on us, Your children, to be a people of prayer, devotion, and denial of self. We pray for our land to repent of neglect and defiance of Your holy commands. In the name of Jesus we come against the powers of darkness that seek to engulf the light of Your salvation that brings help, hope, and forgiveness to sin sick souls and secures their eternal dwelling in heaven. Help us not to grow weary in our intercession, for we want to be faithful in prayer so that, at a future date, we will witness the harvest of souls. We pray for Your will to be accomplished in the name of Jesus. Amen. Jesus, You had quite a mission while You spent time on earth. Your physical life on earth is so important for all to see and comprehend God in the flesh. We have a picture of the Father through the life of the Son. You also came to bring salvation to Your creation, willingly leaving the splendor of Your home in heaven to change the course of history and to redeem the fallen sinful race. Your ascension into heaven serves as a reminder that You completed Your mission on earth and are now at the right hand of the Father ever interceding for us, Your children. One day we will see You come in the same way You left, but on that day You will take us with You to spend eternity in the home that You have prepared for us to take up permanent residency. Help us to be faithful and eager for the blessed hope of Your second coming. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we go through our days, trials of all sorts can come our way and often times the the storms of life do come. During those storms and trials and temptations, we have You to trust and to cling to as our solid rock.. I am in awe of the depth of Your riches, both of wisdom and knowledge! How unsearchable are Your judgments and unfathomable Your ways! For who has known Your mind, Lord, or who has been Your counselor? Or who has ever given to You, Father, that You should repay him? For from You and through You and to You are all things. It is to You, our loving and eternal Father, that we give praise and glory forever. In Jesus name we come to You and give thanks. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I spoke to an elderly man yesterday about his place of work, I was reminded of some words that Jesus spoke and the importance of having people be a witness of Jesus Christ in the hospitals, jails and prisons. So Lord, we thank You for the thousands of godly chaplains and volunteer helpers who reach past the prison bars to touch the hearts of men and women who desperately need the gospel message implemented in their lives. As Fanny Crosby wrote, “The vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.” The blessed transforming message these Christian workers deliver sets even the most hardened prisoner free from their chains of sin. And then we think of those imprisoned for standing boldly for the cause of Christ. Discouragement, even despair must surely fill their thoughts as they endure abuse, isolation, scorn, and separation day after day, months and even years from their loved ones. We thank You that though they suffer tremendously they also have opportunity to reach their captors with the life changing message of the Gospel. You are a miracle working God that performs the impossible in evil places where Your messengers will likely suffer or die, and yet the gospel message is not silenced but is often regenerated by the abusers themselves who caught a glimpse of salvation and radically turn from their sins. Nothing is impossible with You! We praise You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I taught last night, there is no addiction or problem that we could have that You won't deliver us from if we gave it to you. Your grace exceeds our greatest sin and reaches our deepest need. When we read the first chapter of Ephesians we are taken back by just how privileged we are to be chosen in Christ before the creation of the world, to be predestined and adopted as Your child through Him. Some of the richest and most tender portions of Scripture that disclose the extent of Your love are revealed to us from deplorable and unjust situations. What a wonderful reminder that Your work is not limited to ideal circumstances but You do an inward work within our heart no matter where we are or what difficulty we face. Because You lavish Your love on us we cannot contain it but must share it with those around us. Help us to do so freely and generously through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Heavenly Father, when I get overly anxious about having the latest gadget or the newest fashion I usually overlook the fact that I have so much already at my disposal. So much, in fact, that I struggle to properly manage my possessions and can be overwhelmed with clutter. We thank you for those who model contentment by living with less so that others can have more; more of the basics of life and the provisions needed to reach others with the Gospel message. Contentment from You cannot be packaged and sold, but it can be a way of life as we align our priorities in accordance to Your will. Teach us the great gain we experience by setting our heart’s affections not on this world’s changing and peril-stricken economy, but by storing up treasures in heaven’s economy where eternal riches never perish, spoil or fade. May that precious truth help us find contentment in a non-content society. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
