Father, we confess that we are weak and fearful people, apart from Your Holy Spirit that makes us valiant and strong as we stand up for Your righteousness. The conflicting philosophies, the indulgent sinful behaviors of humanity, the worship of creatures rather than our Creator, and the false religions that abound require us to be equipped daily in Your spiritual armor. Our struggle is not physical but spiritual in nature as the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms battle for our souls. This conflict will not end until we unite with You in heaven, so keep us vigilant and trusting as we do battle with our enemy. You are the captain of our army and we will be victorious as we follow Your every command. Help us to do so we pray in the blessed name of Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, grant us strength and courage as we face the many decisions to divert from Your plan of truth and righteousness. May godly character be that by which we are known, for a good name is more desirable than great riches (Proverbs 22:1). May the rewards of our good character lead to blessings for ourselves as well as for our children (Proverbs 20:7). And may our children be known by their actions as well, by whether their conduct is pure and right (Proverbs 20:11). Help us to make every effort to grow in our character as we add to our faith, goodness, and knowledge, and self-control, and perseverance, and godliness, and brotherly kindness and love. For if we possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep us from being ineffective and unproductive in our knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:5-8). Amen. Heavenly Father, we sing praises to You, because You are so worthy to be praised. Lord, even though we are going through a storm, world wide with this pandemic and also by those in authority who have responded to it, we now have many long term ramifications that will likely not disappear even when the contagion factor is no longer widespread. Some families have taken positions that have caused division, government officials have wrongly politicized the disease, many churches have splintered, church leadership in some locales has been persecuted, and devastating heartbreak remains for those whose loved ones died without loving and proper good-byes. We need healing in our local settings and we need healing in the nations since this is a global pandemic in need of a global answer to prayer. May we, as Your children, be used as a healing balm to the nations, a healing balm to the people of the earth, till the whole world knows there’s salvation in Your name, may Your healing flow through us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are the giver of many gifts, but Yours has qualities that last not just for a lifetime here on earth, but is extended through all eternity. Your gift of the water of life is something I can’t buy or earn by our own merit. It is free, but it cost You the life of Your Son, Jesus. Though the wages of my sin is death, the gift You have made available to me is eternal life through Christ Jesus my Lord. I wholeheartedly and gratefully receive this gift of salvation. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we rejoice in the blessing of restored relationships. There are millions of fatherless children who don’t know their birth fathers and feel unloved, unimportant and unwanted. We pray for responsible parenting and Biblical morality to be restored in our land. How desperately we need a revival where people will be saved, delivered, and reconciled to You, and seek to reconcile themselves to those they have cast aside. We pray for those who are still in the waiting period for a miracle. May they find their sense of belonging and acceptance through You, our loving Father, and as joint heirs with Christ who gave His all that we might be adopted into Your eternal family. In Hir mighty name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is because of the great love of Your Son, Jesus, and His willingness to take our sins upon Himself that we can be reconciled to You. It is the greatest news of all time for all generations. Father, we want to be passionate as Christ’s ambassadors since You are making Your appeal through us reaching out to others with the greatest message of all time: “Be reconciled to God.” When we were lost, broken, and without hope Christ reconciled us to You who sought us, repaired our broken lives, and gave us eternal hope. Where would we be without Jesus! Thank You for receiving, redeeming, reconciling and restoring us to Yourself, our Creator. In the name of Jesus, Who is the Name above all names we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when I consider the scarlet cord being the lifeline for Rahab I also think of the umbilical cord in the life of a baby. In Your marvelous creation of new life You made the umbilical cord to be an unborn baby’s lifeline that delivers the nutrients and oxygen needed for normal development through its life-giving mother. My redemptive lifeline is the transmission of Your pure, scarlet blood that provides absolute forgiveness for my transgressions. You forgive so completely that even the vilest offender who truly believes that very moment from Jesus a pardon receives. May I never be drawn to any other temporal lifeline but only the eternal redemptive lifeline of Your scarlet blood that saves unto the uttermost. That brings hope that springs eternal. In the name of Christ Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, how marvelous is Your love. So many things in life are unobtainable, just beyond our grasp, but You make Your love available to everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. Your love and tender care mends the broken heart; it cleanses the sin-filled heart, and it encompasses the empty heart. How utterly amazing that You would pour out Your sinless, extravagant love on the vilest of sinners who truly believes. Incredible to comprehend, but nothing in all creation can separate us from Your gracious and compassionate love. Thank You, Precious Father, for loving me. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we confess that undesirable circumstances can prompt an attitude of grumbling instead of gratitude, unless we have developed the spirit of gratitude which does away with grumbling. Father, You know my heart and You know that in the past few days I have let weather, and people not keeping up with commitments get me to grumble. The spirit of gratitude doesn’t come as naturally as the common five senses but Your Word develops our sense of gratitude as we apply its truths and prayerfully adapt it to our way of looking at things. Help us to give thanks in everything, for this is Your will, through Christ Jesus our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we drink of the crushed fruit of the vine to remind us of Christ’s pouring out His life’s blood so that we might have forgiveness of sins. We eat the communion bread made from wheat that is cut down, threshed about, and put to the fire. So too, Jesus, the Bread of Life was threshed about to the utmost on our behalf. We deliberately remember and regularly commemorate the act that Jesus commissioned at the Last Supper with the disciples. His supreme sacrifice of dying for our sins so that we might be forgiven is worthy of great honor and faithful remembrance for all the days of our life. Thank You Jesus. We pray this in Your mighty name. Amen. |
