Heavenly Father, it is in our weaknesses that Your power becomes more visible in our lives. The “thorn in our flesh” is representative of those trials common to all followers of Christ. We call out for deliverance and yet endure the discomfort and affliction as a true soldier of the faith, all the while being “joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer”. Because of the blood of Christ we can overcome the opposition and triumph in our faith to the glory of God the Father in whose name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Your watchful eye brings great assurance to my heart as You, Almighty Father, are a God of perfect order. Your unblemished design of the universe and all of created life, both human, animals and vegetation, is also testimony to Your unchanging faithfulness. We marvel in the wonder of each hour of the day and of the night, hill and meadow, tree and flower, sun and moon and stars of light. The redeemed join with all of nature in declaring Your wondrous beauty in all creation as we bring praise, honor and glory to You, our Faithful God. Amen. Heavenly Father, may the choices I make today reflect the Voice of Truth that points me in the way of life everlasting. If I should instead choose to go by my feelings about a matter I am sure to make a mistake I’ll later regret. But when I follow Your commands, they are not based upon the feelings I have now that could change later, but they’re based upon Your immutable truth intended for all time. Help me to be wise, strong, and obedient so that I will keep my heart and life on the right path. In the precious name of Jesus I ask. Amen. Heavenly Father, I pray for a spirit of cooperation and eagerness to contribute to the needs of the whole body, so that Your Church is built not just with sweat, bricks, and mortar but with love, integrity, and cooperative teamwork. We go forth in unity and purpose as we do our part in building each other up while encouraging others to use their God-given talents and acquired skills, all the while striving for unity in the faith. In the name of Jesus we go forth in faithful service. Amen. Heavenly Father, help us to look beyond material provisions and recognize that the value of spiritual blessings far exceed our temporal needs and pleasures. May our heart’s cry be the same as that of the Apostle Paul who declared, “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Physical suffering and persecution, for the sake of Christ, will prove our faith to be genuine and will gain for us a crown of life. Suffering and persecution here on earth is temporal, but a crown of life is eternal! Help us to live not just for the here and now, but set our affections on that which lasts forever so that we stay the course! May our faith in You increase as we build treasures in heaven rather than chasing after fool’s gold here on earth. And may our resolve to stand firm intensify as we see the day of Your return approaching. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, we are told in Hebrews that we are to remember those in prison as though we ourselves were suffering in prison. That way we will pray more faithfully and fervently when we put ourselves in place of our brothers and sisters who face persecution and even death as they remain faithful to their witness for Christ. May their faithful example serve as a witness to their accusers and help to lead them to faith. As one brother often prays, “May the soothing presence of the Holy Spirit be as salve to their wounds”, whether they are physical, emotional, or mental. Speak peace and assurance to family members who are desperately waiting for their release, and increase their faith in the midst of it all. In the name of Jesus we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, I want to look to the words of Jesus when He warns us of the perils that come with worrying. It is common knowledge that worry will damage our health and can even lead to an early death. It will consume our thoughts and taint our outlook in everything we endeavor to do. It will hinder our productivity and affect the way we relate to others. Help us to remember that worrying does not contribute to the solution but only creates other troubles. The answer to our problems is to place our hope and trust in You by seeking first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. In the process of seeking You above all else You bring perspective, direction, trust and supernatural peace into the most troubling circumstances. Only You can make a roadway in the wilderness and only You can open a door that has been closed. Nothing is impossible with You, Father. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen “Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a lost sinner. I believe that You came to this earth to seek and to save that which was lost and You died on the cross as a substitute for me and my sin. I place my faith in You and what You have done for me. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from unrighteousness. I receive You into my life and choose this day to follow You and serve You all the days of my life. Thank You for hearing my prayer and receiving me into Your kingdom of light.” Father, I also pray for a brother who lost his wife yesterday. I pray that You comfort him and help him as he has to make adjustments. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, if we base our emotions on the happenstance in our lives and the world in which we live we’ll be defeated before the day is over. But You’ve called us to look beyond the changing circumstances of our day and to consider the unchangeable works You’ve done on our behalf. Because of Your exceeding grace You transferred us from the dominion of darkness into the kingdom of light where Your glory dwells and where You give us direction for each day. We give thanks to You, Father for qualifying us by grace. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, You have a set purpose for every one of us, as You have called us out of darkness and into Your wonderful light. Because we now have the light of Christ within, we want to let our light shine so that others may see our good works and glorify You, our Father, which is in heaven. As we toil and labor here below, help us not to dread or whine about the circumstances, but work heartily as unto You, rather than man, so that we might be a positive influence to those whom we see day in and day out. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
