Heavenly Father, help our ears to be alert, our eyes to be open, and our hearts to be perceptive as we follow in Your ways. May we be eager to hear Your teaching and apply it to our lives so that we may be found blameless before You and experience the joy You give to those who follow Your commands. When Your meaning is clear help us to seek no other meaning to satisfy our own desires or to change the clear meaning of Your message. Align our desires with Your own, that we might find genuine peace and wholehearted obedience as You bring spiritual healing to our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we know that we must do more than just read Your Word, but we must apply Your truths so that we and others see the work of Your Spirit in our lives. The Israelites looked to You for guidance in the cloud by day and the fire by night. They learned when to wait and when to walk. It is in the waiting times that we learn endurance and it is in the walking times that we learn to trust. There is much learning that takes place whether we are being still or whether we are on the “go”, that is, if our spirit is teachable. Whether we are moving forward or staying still our hope is in You all the day long. We ask that You help us with that journey. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I think about family life today, I think about how we thrill at the sight of a newborn. We find pleasure in watching an active, playful child. We’re amazed and prayerful as the child grows into their questioning teen years. And we rejoice as the youth takes on the responsibilities of adulthood and family. We respond differently to every generation and conclude with respect and honor to those who go before us; the seniors and elderly. They deal with confinement, pain, physical and mental changes, in addition to the repeated losses of friends and family members. Prompt our memories to include them in our activities when possible, to give them personal attention, to pray for them regularly, and to seek them out when they’re among us. In Jesus name I ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I do not know the exact day You will judge the earth, but the Bible judges the thoughts and attitudes of my heart each time I read it or meditate upon its truths. Help me to apply Your promises and commands to my life so that when the day of the Lord comes like a thief I will be prepared. The heavens and earth will disappear with a roar and everything in it will be laid bare. I look forward to a new heaven and a new earth which will be the home of righteousness instead of sinfulness. I will stand among the redeemed because You suffered long in waiting for my heart to become pliable and repentant. Help me to be found blameless and at peace with You due to the finished work of Christ on Calvary’s cross. Your patience, Lord, means salvation for the many who will soon come to repentance. I want to be diligently praying for their souls, bold in my witness, and exemplary in my Christian walk as I await the day of Your blessed appearing. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking to us through Bible doctrine, parables, fellow believers, and through life-altering events in our lives. You beamed Your searchlight from the portals of heaven to show us how lost we were. We’re tremendously blessed to know that celestial beings held a celebration in heaven when we chose to be Your followers. Though misplacing material items leads to time lost and great frustration, misplacing our faith leads to error and eternal damnation. Father, You’ve shown us the way and instructed us, “This is the way; walk in it.” Help us to seek out others who’ve yet to find the way so that they too will follow You and cause rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us and setting up a perfect plan for everyone of us.When we depend upon the mercy of the Lord Jesus and His mercy, not our merit and if it is our constant plea, You keep us in Your perpetual love. You have merited for us what we could never, otherwise, lay claim to. The only way to stand before You flawless is to rest in Your merits and walk in Your love. Lord, me and my house, we choose to contend for the faith once for all entrusted to the saints throughout Scripture and to all generations that follow. We love You with our heart, soul, mind and strength so we choose to live according to Your pattern established in Scripture. We choose to align our desires with Your design for our lives and refuse to “exchange the truth of God for a lie”. Your truths bring light and life; Satan’s lies bring darkness and death. Those who follow the lie claim to be wise, yet they become fools as they exchange glory reserved only for You, the Creator, for that which You created. So we choose to give our full allegiance to You, our Creator and Father, who is forever praised. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, nothing can be spoken more comforting to those who realize themselves undone, than the coming of the Redeemer as the Lamb of God and as the Good Shepherd. We offer thanks to You that we do know and we have heard that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. Yet there are those who have never heard this message and there are still others who have exchanged the truth of God for the lie, choosing to worship and serve created things rather than the Creator which makes their thinking futile and their foolish hearts darkened. In ourselves we are nothing but as we walk in the light of Your inspired Holy Word we live in truth and walk in righteousness. So we give praise to You, the Creator, who is forever blessed. In Jesus name we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray for a spirit of cooperation and eagerness to contribute to the needs of the whole body, so that Your Church is built not just with sweat, bricks, and mortar but with love, care, and teamwork. Therefore we seek to act in cooperation, unity and purpose as we do our part in building each other up in the various natural giftings and learned skills You have given us as we strive for unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God. We also want to be on the look-out for opportunities to reach out to those who are not of the household of faith. Through our loving and generous endeavors toward their needs we have more opportunity to share the gospel of Christ with them, helping them not just here and now but reaching them for all eternity. Thank You Jesus and in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for the body of Christ and I am thankful that I am part of this family. The Body of Christ in the world is for the service for, and manifestation of Jesus, and the Body is to serve the Head, whose Body we are. Since all powers in the members proceed from the Holy Spirit, no member may boast against another, and no member, however insignificant, may consider himself unessential, but is equally obligated to be yielded to the Spirit. Father we pray for a spirit of cooperation and eagerness to contribute to the needs of the whole body, so that Your Church is built not just with sweat, bricks, and mortar but with love, care, and teamwork. In the precious name of Jesus we ask. Amen. Heavenly Father, all the things I can buy, make, or bargain for here on earth are just things. All the accolades, merits, relationships and physical treasures I’ve accumulated in this life are but rubbish when compared to the all surpassing gift of knowing You, receiving Your forgiveness, and experiencing Your redemptive love. Because I am risen with Christ I want to place my affections on things above rather than things on this earth where I am so easily distracted from that which really matters and draws me closer to Your throne. To know You, Father, is to know unfathomable peace and joy beyond measure. I thank You through Christ Jesus my Lord. Amen. |
