Heavenly Father, we thank You for Jesus Who emptied Himself when He came to earth. He came down to earth as a man. Jesus promised us That He would be our faithful Shepherd leading us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. We are guided, not by our own strength or wisdom lest it be inadequate or faulty, but in the knowledge and wisdom of our all-knowing, all-powerful God. It is not by might, nor by power but by Your Spirit that we can stand against the tactics of the enemy. Like Nehemiah, may our first impulse be that that of prayer and our second impulse be that of obedience. In the name of Jesus we ask these things. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I have become justified through grace, by faith in Christ. Hallelujah! I ask You be at the center of my thoughts, my attitudes and my conversations today. Would You keep me spiritually sensitive to opportunities for Christian witness. As You reign in my life You are my Master and I choose to be obedient to You, my Lord. Grant me the strength to trust You in the dark trials I may face today as I release my worries and fears to You. I confess that Your strength is perfect and altogether adequate. Help me to remember that I walk by faith and not by sight. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” I desire to follow You, my King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.” Heavenly Father, as for me and my house,we will serve You. We desire to remain faithful to You all the days of our life. We join with others of the Christian faith who hold unswervingly to the hope we profess even as we spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Disappointments, unanswered prayers, loved ones who oppose us, spiritual lethargy, temptations and trials pull at our hearts and tempt us to look back just like the Israelites who were freed from slavery. They who greatly rejoiced at their new found freedom found themselves longing to return after the going got tough. Give us strength and firm resolve to plow through the hard soil and bumpy rocks of life all the while fixing our eyes on our eternal dwelling place as we hold unswervingly to the hope we profess in Christ Jesus our Lord. For it is in His name that we pray and give our full allegiance. Amen. Heavenly Father, we read in the Gospel of John where Jesus told Pilate, His kingdom was not of this world. When we become born again, our lives should change. We should strive to be holy and living a holy, righteous life—to be set apart. We are not to engage in the sinful activities the world promotes, nor are we to retain the insipid, corrupt mind that the world creates. Rather, we are to conform ourselves, and our minds, to that of Jesus Christ. As we fully surrender our hearts to You we will no longer conform to the pattern of this world, but we will be transformed because our minds are being renewed by Your Spirit daily. Though we may be rejected by the world we have been chosen by You. Like living stones You are building us into a spiritual house where Jesus is the precious cornerstone. Because of that we are a strong foundation that can withstand the forces of evil as we declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness and enables us to live as aliens and strangers in this evil world as we abstain from sinful desires. Thank You Jesus for Your sacrifice on that Roman cross that cleanses me of my sins and breaks all those chains that once kept me in bondage. In You precious name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we can see many places in Your Word that caution us about that little thing that dangles underneath our nose. I join with the Psalmist and pray that the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts is pleasing and acceptable in Your sight, O Lord our strength and our Redeemer. Jesus warns us that a good person brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, for the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. That which is in our hearts will greatly influence that which we speak or the way we act. If our hearts are focused on pure and godly things, our words and actions will reflect that. But when our hearts are full of folly and self, it will be revealed in our words and actions. Help us to be quick to repent and take necessary steps to cleanse ourselves of sin so that we are pleasing to You which is far more valuable and beneficial than trying to conceal a sin. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word and I thank You for giving me eyes to see and ears to hear Your Word and I praise You for allowing my heart to be opened to receive it. Your truths do not fluctuate nor are they subject to reinterpretation by the changing philosophies of our day. Your truths are explained through the inspiration of Your Holy Word and understanding given to us by Your Holy Spirit. May our ears be open to hear and our eyes focused to see that Your eternal truths are the same yesterday, today and forever and the truths which You speak, You speak in love to all who choose to hear. We want to find favor with You by turning from our sins and giving attention to Your truth. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, You have a work for all of us to do, we, who claim to be Your followers. Sometimes it’s going, sometimes it’s doing, and sometimes it’s just making ourselves available to Your leading. However You choose to use us, it requires our faith and trust to be firmly rooted in who You are, in Your commands, and in our hearing Your voice, most especially in uncharted territory when we are asked to step out of our comfort zone. Help us to be among those with whom You could say to Your Son, Jesus, “This is my child with whom I am very pleased.” Your commendation is our incentive to be listening, obeying and trusting in You as we journey here below. Thank You Lord for loving us and You patience. We give You all the honor and glory. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we know from Your Word that if we don't have faith in You we cannot please You. There are so many people and things in which we can place our trust. To a certain degree it is imperative that we do so, but when our hope is misplaced or is out of balance with the teachings of Scripture we find ourselves disillusioned, disappointed and desperate for your divine intervention. Lord, there are so many things happening all over the world trying to get our attention and led us astray, because that is how the enemy works. In the US there is division among people on morale issues and I hear from people often that don't know what side of the fence that they should take a stand. Then there are even churches that have allowed the corruption into their buildings. We should be praying without ceasing. We should be reading and studying Your Word to know the truths and to know Your heart on matters and then love those things that You love and hate the things You hate and then teaching others Your ways. I thank You Lord for raising up spiritual leaders who have mentored me and helped grow me up in Your ways. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. |
