Heavenly Father, we know that Heaven is being prepared for Your appointed time for Jesus to return and call up His bride. We lift our eyes to the Eastern sky, for we know that You will soon return to gather believers in the air along with those who have already died. But until that wonderful event or until You call us home at our appointed hour of death we are to live as if this is our last day on earth. We want our hearts to be right, our conscience to be clear and our sins to be forgiven. We want to leave a godly legacy for those who remain, in hopeful expectation that they too will make proper preparation for their appointed day of death. Help us to live not just for here and now, but for our final landing in eternity. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the plans You created for family. For instance, our moms and dads. We thank you for our parents and honor them, both those living and the memory of those who are now departed from this life. We thank you for the blessing they were to us. May our own lives be marked by faithfulness and integrity. These character traits are not developed over a short period of time but over a lifetime. Obedience does bring blessing and eternal reward. Help us not to become weary in doing good, for at the proper time You have ordained, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we go about our daily tasks, we entrust our safe keeping to others. As we venture out on the highways to jobs, our school, or even to do our hobbies, we eat food provided by total strangers. As I go to a doctor today, I could be prescribed and take medicine that could bring about disastrous results rather than healing. When we use time-saving power tools or electrical gadgets we are at the mercy of modern inventions and other people, the vast majority of them are complete strangers. Whether it’s the driver of the subway or pilot of the aircraft, whether it’s the children obeying the cross guard or a doctor prescribing a cure for what ails us or if it’s a soldier looking to his comrades to cover for his safety. We rely on these animate and inanimate objects every day and yet, as believers, we more fully rely on Your providence, Your knowledge, Your power and goodness to care for us in dangerous settings. What reassurance we garner as we realize that You are always watching and caring for us. And when our time on this side has expired You are there waiting to usher us to our eternal abode where no danger lurks, no sins defile and no sorrow awaits us.Praise be to Your holy name forevermore. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when we read and study the Scriptures we see how good You are. Just as we engage our physical senses in tasting food we engage our spiritual senses in learning who You are and how You guide us by Your Spirit. Though we cannot see You, our spirit senses the work You’re doing in our life. Though we cannot hear You, You lead us through Your commands in Scripture. Though we cannot feel You, we are warmed by Your loving words expressed in the Bible. Though we cannot touch You we feel the extension of Your love as You work on our behalf. Your scent is present in the very air that we breathe and the beauty of Your creation that surrounds us everyday. Your words are sweet to our taste as we hunger for your goodness. May we in turn offer up a sweet smelling sacrifice that is pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for my bride and all You have done to bring us together and that it is a real love that so many wish they had. We thank You for the wonderful gift of love that we experience in a romantic relationship that often grows into a marital bond between a man and woman. It is a holy union in which we, as devout believers, make You the Cornerstone of our marriage and family. May we be a support to each other as we provide a loving and protective shelter from the bitter disappointments of life. May the fruit of the Spirit be evident in our daily walk both at home and in public places. Keep us wholly faithful to one another, rejecting every lustful temptation the devil sends our way. May we prove our love to each other with mutual respect, understanding, forgiveness, kindness, forbearance, and unity. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we can come and have fellowship with You which has been made possible through the incarnation of Christ, the eternal Word, can be maintained only by walking in the light, which signifies the recognizing of our sins with frank confession of them and forsaking of them as they are revealed to us, and belief in Christ crucified as the remedy for sin. Praise Jesus! Lord, as we confess our sins we thank You that You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Help us to confess our sin, welcome Your cleansing, and invite the Holy Spirit to help us courageously deal with personal consequences from our sinful defiance. You are a gracious Father who does not cast us down in our failures, but You uphold us with Your gracious and loving hand. When pride and fear consume our hearts it holds us back from taking the proper steps to right a wrong. Replace our fear with courage and our pride with humility so that we will take the proper steps to correct a wrong we’ve committed. Help us to find peace in knowing that we have obeyed You. In the precious name of Jesus we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are so thankful for Your redeeming grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt. This is possible because of the blood of Jesus which was poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Where our sin increased, Your grace increased all the more. Your refuge for our sin-filled souls took place at the cross of Calvary where Jesus shed His precious blood so that we might find forgiveness for our sins. This salvation is marvelous; it is matchless and it is infinitely greater than the animal blood sacrifice that took away sins for only a season. Christ’s redeeming blood sacrifice frees us from the penalty of sin in this life and for all eternity. We thank You, Jesus, for freely shedding Your blood on our behalf and it is in Your name that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, A great and happy change is possible on the basis of Christ’s finished redemption where now we are quickened to eternal life by faith apart from own merits. You, the Father, are the Author of the plan, Christ, the Son, laid the foundation, and the Holy Spirit raises the superstructure.Hallelujah! Lord, as we faithfully serve You it is not for our own fulfillment but for the fulfillment of the Great Commission that the Gospel message be delivered at home and abroad to the outermost parts of the earth. No matter our Christian service, whether great or small, when it is offered in Your name it brings reward, often visible here and now but at times unseen by the human eye. Help us to go forth in confidence and walk in obedience, no matter the fruit we see or don’t see, as we seek to glorify Your name. We can take heart within our spirit knowing that we will hear “the rest of the story” on the other side. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are told to taste and see if You are good. We are also told through Your Word that we cannot please You without faith in You. Help us to have the kind of faith prescribed in Hebrews 11:1 where “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” It is the kind of prevailing faith that is triumphant even in the worst of circumstances because it is not determined by what we see, but rather in Whom we believe. We will not be overcome by life’s dark circumstances but we will overcome them by standing on the unflickering hope of Scripture that reassures us, “God keeps every promise He makes, He is like a shield to all who seek His protection.” Praise God! The way of faith is the way of victory, peace, assurance and endurance. Thank You Lord and we pray this prayer through Jesus. Amen Heavenly Father, we thank You for everything You do and provide for us. May we honor You and respect ourselves as we fix our eyes and thought life upon whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and whatever is admirable. Center our attention upon those things which are praiseworthy so that we build up others in the faith as the light of Christ radiates from our spirit to those around us. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen. |
