Heavenly Father, I ask that You broaden my faith and increase my understanding as You lead me from day to day. In the midst of Mary and Joseph simply obeying the laws of their government You had a supernatural event unfold in their lives that would completely change history and completely change my life many centuries later. Help me in the ordinary events of my life to respond with the submissive heart that Mary had. I declare that I am Your servant and I recognize that You can do anything, for all things are possible to those who believe. Accomplish Your will in my life, I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, the major purpose for sending Jesus to earth, according to the messenger from heaven, was “because He will save His people from their sins”. Our greatest need was met through Jesus. In addition we see His miraculous power unleashed as He healed the sick, raised the dead, and drove out demons from those possessed. He modeled holiness, purity, self-control and showed us how to love those who are unlovely, care for those who are weak and how to turn the other cheek when attacked unfairly. Above all He showed us how to put other’s needs before our own when He responded in prayer to You in the garden of Gethsemane, “If it be possible, take this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will but Thine be done.” Jesus laid down His physical life that we might have a redeemed life now and forevermore. Thank You for sending Jesus, and thank You, Jesus, that You came. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for pulling me from the darkness. Lord, the radiance of Your holiness is revealed in the light of Your Son, Jesus, who came to dwell among us. We know that in Him there is no darkness at all. Satan, the prince of darkness blinds and deceives us, but Jesus, the Prince of Peace, illuminates us with wisdom and truth through His earthly life revealed by Your Holy Word. And now we have the light of Your Holy Spirit to guide us in a sin-darkened world as we sojourn below. May this light that burns within us brighten our countenance and be our power source for truth, holiness, and courageous witness to those who have been blinded by the darkness. Bring them into the light of Your salvation we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus, the long awaited Messiah. Not just for the Jews, but the good news is that Jesus was born for all people of all generations, from every tribe, tongue and language. I admit that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. I believe You are the promised Messiah who came to this earth to die for my sins. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my life. I receive You as my Saviour and will follow You as my Lord. Thank You for hearing my prayer, saving me from my sins, and providing a home for me in heaven for all eternity. In Jesus name I ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, because I love Your commands more than worldly pleasures or temporal possessions I despise the paths that lead me astray like a lost sheep. You have gone before me and cleared the way so that I might follow in Your steps and the steps of other righteous, godly saints. I am comforted in knowing that I don’t walk alone, but I walk hand in hand with You as my Guide. Through eyes of faith I see a great cloud of witnesses, those spoken of in the Bible and those I’ve known in my lifetime, who’ve already finished the race cheering me on as I persevere in this path of righteousness. May I endure hardship as a form of discipline and may I wholeheartedly seek You above everything else, for You are a Rewarder of those who diligently seek You. Thank You Jesus and in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I thank You for those people You have put in my life who inspire me by their faithfulness in and towards You. They look to You for physical strength and extraordinary faith to overcome the obstacles that would otherwise hinder their ability to live a productive life. They’re living examples of the redeemed who have invited Your strength to be perfected in their weakness. When we are powerless, You are all-powerful and You receive the glory due Your name. So help us not to resent our weaknesses or limitations, for it is in these challenges that we can take no credit but rather give honor to the One who makes all things possible for those who believe. Thank You Jesus and in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for another day that You have made and thank You for all the provisions for our lives that You bless us with. We are grateful to be Your children. It is not by our own goodness, giftings, or generosity that we can buy or earn this standing. It is because of Jesus who came in earthly form so that He could reach His own people and release them from their sins. Though many still turn away from the Gospel message we choose to believe and gratefully declare that we are the children of God. Nothing can compare with such privilege or power as we make our earthly journey. In the name of Jesus we reaffirm and joyfully proclaim our decision to follow You all the days of our lives. In Jesus name we ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, all over the world Your Spirit is moving. And You move through people such as the shepherds who told all they knew concerning the Christ Child. Two thousand years later we have so much more knowledge and experiences to share with those around us because we have the Word of God that shows Your divine character and tells us of Your great and miraculous deeds. May we never tire of hearing the stories of Jesus or become lax in telling others about Jesus. Your choice to enter this earth in such a lowly and timely manner is a story that not only the shepherds were commissioned to go out and tell, but it is the commission of all believers to spread this amazing story. It’s not just for the people of Jerusalem or simply a segment of our society or a select period in history. Instead Christ’s coming affects people of all tongues, tribes, and nations, from the north to the south, from east to west – all who will call upon the Lord Jesus to be saved. Help us to be bold and unwavering in our quest to reach the lost and dying world that touches us each day. In Jesus name we ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, my soul rejoices in the wondrous Gift of Your Son, Jesus, who descended from the sinless atmosphere of heaven and clothed Himself in the garment of humankind. Prior to this marvelous undertaking You spoke to us through the prophets who revealed only a partial and prepatory revelation of the Triune God. But the perfect revelation of who You are is revealed in the Person of Jesus Christ which is made understandable in human terms. For the Son is the radiance of Your glory and the exact representation of Your Being. As we have come to know Jesus, the Son of man, we also know You, Father, because Your character and power are revealed in the life and works of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for mercifully adopting us as Your children and clothing us in robes of righteousness, for without this clothing, we cannot enter heaven. Thank You Jesus and we pray in Your name. Amen. Heavenly Father, there are many Scriptures that warn us of attitudes, desires, and behaviors that lead us on a road to destruction. We want to be faithful to the righteous path that we began the day we surrendered our lives to You. May we seek You wholeheartedly so that our desires, our actions, and our affections align us with the straight and narrow path You walked before us. May we use our resources for Your glory and not our own. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
