Heavenly Father, Your eyes are everywhere. They watch evil people and good people. The ways of wicked people are disgusting to You, but You love those who pursue rightousness. Year after year our lives are marked by change which brings growing transformation in our lives just as You rotate the seasons of the calendar bringing about distinct change in the weather pattern transforming all of nature. As Solomon writes, there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Our pilgrimage includes a time for gain and a time for loss, a time for plenty and a time for want, a time of understanding and a time of perplexity, a time for listening and a time for speaking, a time for searching and a time for finding. In the midst of all these changes we are assured that You do not change, for You are the same yesterday, today and forever. And in all these changes we are assured that You are working for our good, for we know that in all things You work for the good of those who love You, who have been called according to Your purpose. We thank You for Your immutable nature that remains when all else changes. In the mighty name of Jesus we ask and thank. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I have received phone calls, text messages and e-mails from all over the world asking for prayers for tempests that brothers and sisters are going through in their lives. Lord, many of my brothers and sisters are going through some very hard times whether it be financial, sickness, loss of homes and family members. Some of them are in what seems like a dark tunnel of despair and they do not see any light at the end. As I pray for them, I am reminded of Job Like him and theses precious people I know that you saw Job through all the pain and despair. Father God, renew our assurance today of your steadfast love and care even in the midst of our trial. Send means of hope and encouragement today to uplift us in our faith. May we, by faith, see that glorious light that is always at the end of the tunnel. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we have freely received Your gift of forgiveness and salvation. Because of this we are motivated by compassion for the lost as we recognize their ultimate human need is to have a spiritual relationship with You. We want to be a part of the ultimate mission in reaching them with the gospel message so that they might have forgiveness of sins and enjoy eternal life in heaven. Keep us ever mindful of our mission and obedient to Your leading. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your plan from the beginning has been perfect. You love us and know everything about us and how special it is to know that we will not appear as a stranger before You in heaven, but You will call us by name for You are thoroughly acquainted with us. As a loving father cares for his child so You care for us, your children. You place us in the palm of Your hand and no enemy can snatch us from Your protective and loving care. What a tremendous and calm feeling this brings to our hearts on this day. Thank You Lord and we come to You in the name of Your Son, our Savior. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are a good and loving Father, though You are Righteous, Father, You are near to those whose hearts are humble. You save those whose spirits are crushed. Lord, may I never consider my good works or righteous acts to be payment or a cover-up for the hidden sin I harbor in my heart. Instead I want my attitude to be that of the publican in Luke who humbly came before You and cried out, “God be merciful to me a sinner!” If I exalt myself it will lead to my downfall. But if I humble myself I will exalt You. Now that I have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit I reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. Praise Jesus! So I come to You with a contrite heart, confess my sins, and ask Your forgiveness through Christ Jesus my Lord and Saviour. Amen. Heavenly Father, I am reminded today of what Apostle Paul said, led by the Holy Spirit. "However, as the scripture says, "What no one ever saw or heard, what no one ever thought could happen, is the very thing God prepared for those who love him." But it was to us that God made known his secret by means of his Spirit. The Spirit searches everything, even the hidden depths of God's purposes." Lord, we know that You care for us day in and day out as we walk in Your ways, and mercifully, even when we choose to deter from Your perfect plan You gently guide us back. Your plan for our lives is to prosper us even as we endure hardships in this life. Yours is a boundless hope and an eternal love that will see us through to a glorious celebration never to end but to experience for all eternity. Thank You for Your abundant provisions, in this life and in the unseen eternal life yet to come. Thank You precious Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I am reminded of the Words that Jesus spoke after being scourged, hung on a Roman cross and having listened to the religious leaders and Roman soldiers mock Him and hurl insults. After all that was done to the Son of man, He cries out: Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Father God, there is nothing that brings greater satisfaction than the deep, settled peace in my soul that comes from receiving Your forgiveness. Jesus paid the debt for my sin. He paid it in full and I fully commit my life to Him. There isn’t one merit badge I can earn or apply to my standing in Christ, for it is only through His grace that I overcome the power of sin. Thank You for sending Jesus and receiving His death as an atoning sacrifice for my sins. I stand uncondemned and fully forgiven through Your grace and I am so thankful. Amen. Heavenly Father, Jesus said to 'Love our neighbor as ourselves. Lord, I wish to see that on this earth. I wish I could see that mindset in just this little community where I live because that would solve so many other problems. Lord, we ask that You help us to have the heart and motivation of the good Samaritan when he saw the helpless man along the way. Taking the time to stop and help surely wasn’t on his schedule that day nor were the stranger’s medical and lodging expenses written into the Samaritan’s budget. He didn’t consider these substantial factors to be an obstacle that would keep him from extending mercy to one in need. Father, help us to be Your hand extended reaching out to the needy, the sick, and the oppressed. Help us to be a willing vessel whom You can use to pour out healing, to mend the broken-hearted and to bind up their wounds. And, Father, when it is not within our ability, our resources, or our location to directly reach the one in need, prompt us to bring him or her before the throne in earnest prayer. We do it in Jesus’ name and for Your honor. Amen Heavenly Father, in our spiritual journey, it seems like it can be a roller coaster ride, though it is encouraging to know and trust that You are right there to see us through. Whether in life or death, whether in times of rejoicing or times of enduring we make it our goal to testify to Your grace that keeps us keeping on. It is Your grace that makes us more than conquerors in this life and assures us of heaven in the hereafter. In our desire to bring as many with us as possible help us to sort through the menial tasks that deter or weigh us down from the greater task of witnessing to others of Your saving and keeping grace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as my wife and I helped cater a benefit supper last night for a young lady who was tragically taken from us, while talking to friends and family I was reminded of many things. Father God, there is no limit to all that You have provided for us such as material blessings, physical health, the love of family and unending promises that You have already fulfilled or that are yet to be fulfilled. But You have also set visible and well-defined boundaries that are for our own good. Temptations to either toe the boundary line or cross over into enemy territory will always be there, but You give us the power to resist and discernment to recognize the alluring deceit of the evil one. Help our eyes and hearts to remain focused on Your innumerable blessings and provisions as we stand against the god of this age who seeks to destroy us. May we not move the landmark of the faithful to join with the ranks of the faithless. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen. |
