Heavenly Father, we are a blessed people who have so much to be thankful for that we can’t keep it to ourselves. We don’t boast in ourselves for we are but human flesh, but we boast in who You are and all that You provide for us. Father, You are the eternal, sovereign God who sends down the rain and snow, who raises up the trees and flowers, who sets the sun and moon in place and yet You have such tender compassion toward the human race that You gave Your only Son to make atonement for our sin. You are great and greatly to be praised among Your people and throughout the universe You created. We honor You through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Heavenly Father, once we were slaves to sin, but because of Your all-consuming love for us, we are now children of the Most High. We shed the former way of life when we lived unto ourselves and allowed the malignancy of sin to spread like cancer. Now we walk in newness of life and gratefully bear the name of Christ and identify ourselves as Christians. We are renewed daily by the power of Your Spirit that is within our new nature. Our hearts are now predisposed to loathe sin and love righteousness because we are children of the Heavenly Father. May we bring honor to our identity as a Christian as we represent the name of Christ in our words and actions. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we prefer routine days where everything goes as planned and even that which we do not plan falls into place and serves us well. Rarely would we ask You to bring about a situation that would challenge us, test us, and drive us to our knees as we look to You for direction. But You do that anyway, for our good and for our growth, since faith that cannot be tested is faith that cannot be trusted. It’s in the testing of our faith that You also test our integrity and challenge us to live upright and godly lives, even when others are not looking. May we honor You in all that we do and in the way we serve others whom we influence from day to day. In the name of Jesus we ask and pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are the Master Pruner who is growing me into the likeness of Your Son, Jesus Christ. As I remain in the Vine You assure me that I will bear much fruit lasting far beyond one season. When I consider the fruit You want to grow in me I recognize that it is all based on character traits seen in the Son. Help me to respond in accordance to the pruning knife of the Word of God as it penetrates my soul, judging the very thoughts and attitudes of my heart. Cut out that which hinders my growth and submerge me in that which will make me flourish making me fruitful for the Kingdom of God here and for the eternal Kingdom of heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I want to be Your hand extended to others in need. Help me not to turn the other way or to expect someone else to be Your messenger of compassion and care. I want to seek out those who need a kind touch, an attentive ear, or just another person sitting beside them. May I be sensitive to others in need and may I also be sensitive to Your leading. We also thank you for the blessedness of resting in Your everlasting arms. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are challenged in Scripture to be filled with the Spirit speaking to ourselves with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. This heavenly language brings Scripture to our hearts and makes us one with You even in the midst of our busy schedule. It is from the abundance of being filled with Your spirit that we overflow with heavenly music and psalm, even in the midst of hard and unfair situations in our lives. May praise and thanksgiving be the resounding theme from our hearts on this day and everyday! In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen. For the 58 brothers and sisters that I have been sending these prayers to in text, my phone won't charge and I can't get to my contacts list, so I have lost a lot of phone numbers. If you wish to continue receiving these, send me a text and I will add you on to my new phone. (207) 717-6677 Love and blessings, Jim Heavenly Father, You know the spiritual pulse of our heart. The allurement to go with the popular and trendy way of thinking is ever before us. This is especially true since we’re barraged with these kinds of messages each day. Some of our readers are subjected daily to these same messages in their own families. Help us to be intentional in taking a bold stand as we go against the waves of humanism and false religious systems. May our love and devotion to You rise up and overtake any fear or intimidation that would otherwise paralyze our witness in settings where Your name is not revered. As believers we no longer belong to this world so we will never find a comfortable place here. Give us grace and endurance to be a faithful witness in this world even when hated and maligned by others. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, none of the celebrations we’ve attended compare with the overwhelming joy we’ll feel at the ultimate victory celebration in heaven. We’ll rejoice with the saints from all generations telling of the marvelous saving and sustaining power of Christ. We look forward to sharing stories about the times we faced trouble, hardship, persecution or danger and the miraculous way that You sustained us through those difficulties. We’re not there yet, so help us to keep on keeping on, until that glorious day! It is in the matchless name of Jesus that we pray. Amen. (207) 717-6677 Love and blessings, Jim Heavenly Father, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. I pray that the light of Your Word shines forth not only in my path, but spreads out to those nearby. As I meditate, memorize and endear Your Word to my heart I pray that meaningful Scripture will be a natural outflow of who I am becoming through Christ. In honoring Your Word the power of Your Holy Spirit uses Scripture to bring conviction, instruction, and inspiration. Help me to be faithful in reading and engrafting Your Word to my heart so that I consistently and earnestly contend for the faith no matter the difficulty or temptation I face this day, on the day that You have made. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. (207) 717-6677 Love and blessings, Jim Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus who died on the cross for our sins; past, present and future. It was but a short time that He was held under the power of death, but He will die no more. Jesus is alive forevermore, and we who express godly faith will live forever, because Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. As we believe on Him, though we may die a mortal death, we shall yet live an immortal life. Jesus holds the keys to the invisible world which will one day be made visible to all creation. He also holds the key to our heart’s door, but will only turn that key when we invite His entrance. Today we not only invite Jesus to enter but we welcome His residency as His Spirit abides with us guiding us into all truth. We love You, Father, and we come to You through Your beloved Son, Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen. |
