Heavenly Father, reading from 1 Corinthians, we look forward to the mysterious moment when we who follow Christ will be changed in the twinkling of an eye, when the trumpet sounds from heaven. Our perishable bodies will take on the imperishable and we will be forever young, no longer plagued with the moans and groans of this earthly body. Until Christ returns or until You call us home, we remain hopeful and vigilant in our spiritual pilgrimage, no matter the condition of this flesh and blood body. We thank You Lord for these promises that we believe, in faith. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, in the past couple weeks I have had many conversations about You and Your Word with others. With some, the conversation was positive and others, I knew right off that it was not the right time to have that discussion. With a few, I felt led to purchase a bible to give to them. Praise Jesus! Lord for me and those that do believe in You and Your Word, we want to be diligent in our study of the Word of God, not only to receive Your approval, but to more fully understand Your plan for our lives. Thank You for the Bible that’s like a road map showing us where to go and how to get there. And the greatest blessing is that Your Spirit illumines the path before us so that we do not walk in the dark, but we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit who shows us the way to life everlasting. Keep us on the right path, we pray in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, this morning the old Hymn What A Friend We Have In Jesus continuously plays in my mind. Lord, we thank You that in Jesus we’ve found an enduring Friend for all eternity; One who laid down His life that we might be raised to newness of life. There’s no friend on earth that can provide the constant companionship we experience with Christ through prayer, the Scriptures, and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit that resides in our hearts; in the good times and the bad, during the testings and temptations common to all. There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus, no not one, no not even one. Thank You for this wondrous gift we celebrate of Jesus coming to earth in the flesh to dwell among us and to show us the more excellent way. We ask and rejoice in Your wonderful precious name, Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, I think back to the walking time bomb my life used to be. How I could explode with one word spoken by another. One minor situation could put me over the edge. Jesus, Prince of Peace, thank You for calming the raging storm in my soul when You took up residency within my heart, as You removed my sins and replaced them with Your righteousness. This eternal exchange has brought me countless joy, abiding peace, and a home in heaven. It is once and for all established in the heavens and serves as an anchor to provide unwavering hope even while the torrential waves of world tragedies, wars, fears, strife, and personal difficulties attempt to shatter my peaceful state of mind. You have promised to keep me in perfect peace when my mind and heart are fixed upon You* rather than the besetting problems that confront me daily. Help me to wholeheartedly seek You and rely on Your Holy Word so that I will experience perfect peace. It is in this spiritual attitude that I will fully trust You to work out the problems that greatly concern me and it will help me not to take matters into my own hands which only leads to more trouble. You have overcome the world and You will also help me to overcome my troubles. I praise and thank You Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are an awesome God and You loved me when no one else would. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever You are the faithful, changeless One, Father. Your works in the past are testimony to Your majesty, power, and provision for our lives today. Your presence today steadies our walk as You lead us in the paths of righteousness. Lord, Your future blessings are waiting to be unfolded in our lives as we faithfully yield to You our heart, our soul, and our mind. We look to You for everything we need for life and godliness in this present age as we await Your soon return. Jesus, we ask in Your precious name. Amen. Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Jesus, we can read in our Bibles about the time we are living in now. You warned Your listeners as You sat on the Mount of Olives that at the end of the age nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, famines and earthquakes will be commonplace. Believers will be handed over to be persecuted and many will turn away from the faith as wickedness increases. In the midst of such dark desolation we cling to the bright promise, full of hope and motivation for those who walk steadfastly with You; he who stands firm to the end will be saved. We will conquer the enemy, for the battle is not ours, but Yours, Lord Jesus, we pray in Your name. Amen. Heavenly Father, Many times through scripture we are told that we should not get caught up with the things of this earth. We learn that our time on earth is like a vapor. Lord, help us to hold loosely to this temporal life and cling tightly to the promised eternal life. The only way we can have this outlook is to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Just as Stephen in the book of Acts looked up to the heavens in the face of death, help us to look up to the heavens in life or in death. Lord may we dive into Your Word for the rest of our life here on earth and hold on to Your Your promises in faith as truth. We are blessed as we persevere under trial, because when we have stood the test, we will receive the crown of life that You have promised to those who love You. Jesus, we love You and thank You for loving us and dying for us so that we may have life and that we may have it more abundantly. In Your name we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, I praise Your name because You are worthy to be praised. Your exceeding grace is evident as far as the eye can see and reaches way beyond my limited imagination. But the greatest aspect of Your grace is that You choose to reside within my heart. Your abundant grace brings me assurance when the world speaks of trouble. Your abiding grace brings me consolation when others would forsake me. Your sustaining grace is manifested more in the trials of life than in the mountain top experiences. Thank You for supplying me with Your sufficient grace in the height and depth of my existence. Your amazing grace is supernatural; it never ceases to be amazing and it is good for my heart to be strengthened by Your grace. Thank You Jesus and in Your name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your Word says go and share the Gospel with the world. Lord, now that we have computers it makes that task so much easier. Lord, we thank You for this medium of internet communication that makes it possible for us to join our brothers and sisters all around the world in honoring You as we grow together in Your grace and knowledge. Lord it allows us to stand together in prayer and praises. We can uplift and edify one another. We are grateful recipients of Your mercy and grace. On a future date we will join together with the angels around the throne and our redeemed brothers and sisters and proclaim in word and song, “Praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever.” In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I have been very saddened by the prayer requests that have been pouring in by the hundreds from brothers and sisters and also ministries that we have been part of. Lord, until 5 years ago, I never would have believed that We would see this barbaric behavior that is flooding the world. Lord God, I pray for a steadfast heart that does not flicker during times of adversity, acts of injustice, or when evil is visibly prevalent. Incredibly, mourning the loss of innocent lives has existed since the first family of creation, with Cain taking the life of his brother, Abel. It’s one thing to read of these accounts and learn of their historical and spiritual value, but when such violent acts are close to home or take the lives of members even in our own family the depth of sorrow knows no bounds. Lord have mercy on us. Lord, would You bring intense comfort that is even more powerful than the inevitable mourning that accompanies the loss of precious loved ones to those being killed by this ISIS. May You be glorified in the midst of devastation as many leaders will be called upon to give words of comfort and guidance to family and church members. Grant wisdom and healing to ministry leaders in the wake of such violence as we always want to welcome people of all backgrounds, stable or unstable, through the open doors of our churches World wide, where repentance is preached and lives are changed. There is no other true God but You. We are greatly consoled in knowing that those following Christ who breathed their last during these deadly assaults on earth breathed their first in God’s sinless Kingdom that has no end. Sin is swallowed up in victory because death no longer reigns when these mortal bodies take on immortality! What is considered physical defeat here on earth is in reality a spiritual promotion to heaven. May we overcome grief with this essential knowledge that comes from Your Holy Scriptures as we commit our thoughts and our ways to You, Master. We also commit to You those who need physical, mental and emotional healing from the little children that would not denounce Christ, who were beheaded for their faith. Lord I come to You in the precious name of Jesus. The name above all names. Amen |
