Heavenly Father, just as we enjoy the nourishment of food at mealtime to grow us physically, so we enjoy the nourishment of Your Word that builds us spiritually. We have tasted and seen that You are good. Fill us to overflowing through the reading and application of Your Holy Word and through the daily fellowship of Your Holy Spirit. We gladly accept Jesus’ invitation to come and dine at His table of forgiveness, compassion, humility, acceptance, and joy beyond measure. It is a table fit for royalty and peasant alike, for we are one and the same in the eyes of our Creator, the King of kings and Lord of lords. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we regularly come to You asking for peace regarding situations that we don’t understand or have no personal ability to change. Way too often troubling circumstances capture our emotions and rob us of the peace promised to those who place their trust in You. Help us not to be tossed about by the changing circumstances of our lives, but to be steadfast as we discipline our mind to be fixed upon You. Only then will we know true life sustaining peace while sojourning here below. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are so very grateful for the signs of life, color, beauty, shape and functionality that are evident in the plants and vegetation all around us; a result of Your creative handwork on the third day of creation. Though You are Creator, You have made us stewards and caretakers of that which You created. What a joy it is to plant a seed or seedling in the ground and watch as You also provide the oxygen, rain, and sunshine to aid its health and growth. As I write these prayers each morning and other believers stand in agreement with me, You are the divine Creator of the universe and all things are in submission to Your creative power and in accordance to Your will. In the name of Jesus we pray these things. Amen. Heavenly Father, because the Scripture tells us so much about our future eternal homeland, we find ourselves homesick for a place we’ve never been. Perhaps that’s because we’ve chosen to live as strangers in this world in reverential fear toward You, our holy God! Our hopes, our affections and our joys will be fully realized on the other side where Jesus will wipe away the tears from our eyes and we will know no sorrow, no suffering, no good-byes and no sin. A place where there will be no more hospitals, jails, no more morgues, no crime. Father God, it is hard to wait for that day, but I will endure till you call us home! I will finish my course that you have set before me. In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word which is like a fire that refines like a hammer that shatters a rock. For Your Word is living and active, sharper than any double edged sword, since it penetrates even to dividing our soul and spirit, our joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of our heart so that nothing in all creation is hidden from Your sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before Your eyes as we will one day give You full account of our thoughts, attitudes and actions. May we be pleasing in Your sight and be justified in our actions through the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You began a good work in me the moment of my conception when You created me in Your own image. Incredibly, You chose to reflect Your divine Being through my thoughts, attitudes, and actions though I am still numbered among the “frail children of dust, … feeble and frail.” I place my trust in You and have found that You never fail. You never give up or abandon the work You started in my life but Your tender mercies and divine plan continue to break me, mold me, and shape me into Your image. The process will not be completed until the day You call us home. Thank You, Father, for being my “Maker, Defender, Redeemer and Friend”. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your creation has unlimited visual stimuli that is seen by our eyes today, but according to Scripture even our heart and our mind can see. Many philosophies and principles come to us through our mind, but we want the eyes of our heart to embrace only that which will keep our hearts pure, that sorts truth from error, good from bad. May the eyes of our heart reject teachings that are inconsistent with our spiritual enlightenment. Help us to sharpen and narrow our heart’s vision to escape the broad way that leads to destruction. Keep our eyes open to the good things You want to reveal and shut our eyes to the “god of this age” whose goal it is to lead us to spiritual poverty and death. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the world often bases a person’s success on his or her wealth, prestige, power, appearance, fame, youthfulness, education, etc. But we are often at conflict with the world since we are citizens of the heavenly kingdom. Obedience to Your Word, with its principles and commands, and the seeking of Your commendation will put us at odds with the view of a successful life here on earth. We don’t seek commendations from this world where our rewards gather dust, rust, break or lose prestige. Rather we follow after Jesus who grants to us the inheritance of the kingdom You have prepared from the foundation of the world. May that future promise bring great rejoicing with overflowing thankfulness from our hearts this day. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father of all nations, we’re grateful that, as believers, our citizenship is primarily in heaven and we share this glorious citizenship with our brothers and sisters all over the world. We want to remember You foremost in the midst of our prosperity and seek to keep Your commandments. We pray for a massive worldwide revival where people will humble themselves, seek Your face, pray and turn from their wicked ways so that we will hear from Heaven and You will heal our sin sick land. Until that hour we will remain faithful and unwavering in our commitment to follow Your Word while we eagerly await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. |
