Heavenly Father, we learn throughout Scripture that it’s not the one who runs the swiftest, nor the one who runs for a day, but the one who endures to the end that will be saved. Even for those who endure there may be a fall along the way, yet the Psalmist assures us that they are not cast down for You uphold them with Your righteous right hand. You never let them of Your sight, but watch over them and gently woo them back through the working of Your Holy Spirit. Keep our eyes on the goal of living for Christ and our feet planted firmly on the righteous path before us in His name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, the wellspring of life comes from those whose hearts are devoted to You, committed to walking in Your righteous paths as they seek to please You in all their ways. On the other hand “there are those who rise up and say to themselves, He won’t call me to account. The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.” “But You, O God, do see trouble and grief; You consider it to take it in hand.” One day each person will be called upon to give an account, to bow their knees and confess with their tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. We want to be among those who joyously testify to that truth here and now, to the glory of God the Father. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as believers, we are put to the test daily regarding our adherence to the Scriptures that teach right from wrong, truth from error. The Bible includes numerous examples of those who were obedient to Your laws and from those who chose to disregard them. Help us to remember that disobedience, disregard, or dilution of the Scriptures will weaken us and eventually harden our hearts to spiritual truths. We choose either to be shaped by the world or by the Word. Our will and desires cannot be shaped by both. We choose this day to be Your obedient servant no matter the consequences, for Your blessing is more to be desired than the applause of the world. In the Precious name of Jesus, our perfect example we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, our times are in Your hands whether it be the next minute, day or year. You orchestrate our lives in the time frame given us even before we were born and You “teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom”. We learn the secret of making life count from this Psalm – living it one day at a time in a way that honors You and builds biblical character within us. We need Your guidance every day so that we live each day as though it is our last day. In the name of Christ Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we often find ourselves dealing with troublesome situations and would rather not, but we know all things work together for our good and for our growth. We don’t want to cling to attitudes which drag us down, but release them to You so that we find freedom from the enemy’s shackles that seek to hold us back. When we quit trying to fix the problem on our own and fully surrender it to You, our outlook brightens, our hope increases, and our faith matures. When troubles come our way help us not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to You so that Your peace which transcends all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. It truly is amazing what praising can do! Alleluia!! Heavenly Father, You have a purpose as revealed in Scripture for every person; male and female, for every age; babies, children, teens, as well as young, middle-age, older and elderly adults. We want to serve in every season of our life to advance Your kingdom, build up the saints, and to provide an example of what it is to live a life fully dedicated to Christ. You used Moses, Samuel, Daniel, David, and countless others in Scripture while they were very young and you continued to use them as they aged in their physical and spiritual years. Their teaching, acts of service, and their godly example furthered Your kingdom in their lifetime and all these generations later. Dedicated servants like John Wesley, D.L. Moody, Billy Graham, Charles Swindoll and many, many others such as our parents, youth leaders, pastors and dedicated lay persons have cheered us on in the faith as they’ve transmitted the gospel message in our lives. We respect the elderly and heed their words of wisdom even as we lovingly take interest in those younger than us realizing they have much to offer us in their enthusiasm and zeal in applying Scripture in their lives. Help us to work together in unity, preferring others above ourselves, so that Your will is done both in heaven and on earth. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, the practical example of the Corinthian church serves as an example to the church of each generation. To ignore sin or brush it aside does not make it insignificant. It only gains strength and infiltrates the rest of the body when not dealt with in a Scriptural manner. The Christian’s code of conduct is revealed through Your Holy Scriptures, often in stark contrast to the popular philosophy of our day. In turning our eyes away from the sin we in essence give approval, but when we have the courage to deal with it we save not only the transgressor but we also purify Your church. Keep us faithful, prayerful and vigilant as we seek Your leading in matters of vital importance, for Your glory and for our good. In the name of Christ Jesus we pray. Amen. Father God, You are the Father of all nations. Hallelujah! Lord, we’re grateful that, as believers, our citizenship is primarily in heaven and we share this glorious citizenship with our brothers and sisters all over the world. We want to always remember You in the midst of our prosperity and trust You in the midst of need while always following after Your commandments. We pray for a massive worldwide revival where people will humble themselves, seek Your face, pray and turn from their wicked ways so that we will hear from Heaven and You will heal our sin sick land. Until that hour we will remain faithful and unwavering in our commitment to follow Your Word while we eagerly await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, far too often our minds can be consumed with things that only money can buy which can also bring discontent for that which we already have. Help us to focus our hearts on that which has lasting value, that brings eternal dividends. As we lift our voice to You this day and turn our hearts toward Your unfailing love we find joy and satisfaction that will not be determined by the events or non-events of this day. When human love is fleeting or disappoints help us to look to Your unfailing love which satisfies. We want to listen carefully to You, eat what is good, and delight ourselves in Your abundance. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, just as there are seasons throughout the calendar year there are seasons throughout our lives; many of them invigorating and celebratory, others wearying and dreaded. Yet it is both joyous times and dreaded occasions that shape us into Your image so that we bear the likeness of Your Son, Jesus Christ who endured great hardship. We are to fix our eyes on Him, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross despising its shame knowing that without full obedience He could not offer full redemption for our sins. May we not interpret all of life in the “darkness of our suffering” but in the brightness of Your resurrected Son. In the “furnace of affliction” may we be found faithful in Your refining process until we reach Beulah Land. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
