Heavenly Father, we have been given the gift of salvation through the birth, death and resurrection of our Savior. Thank You for the free will given to us that allows us to reject or receive this “Jesus, who is called Christ.” When given the choice we like Peter respond, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” We go to the Rock of our salvation, our hope for all eternity. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I am thankful for Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Thank You for calming the raging storm in my soul when You took up residency within my heart, as You removed my sins and replaced them with Your righteousness. This eternal exchange has brought me countless joy, abiding peace, and a home in heaven. It is once and for all established in the heavens and serves as an anchor to provide unwavering hope even while the torrential waves of world tragedies, wars, fears, strife, and personal difficulties attempt to shatter my peaceful state of mind. You have promised to keep me in perfect peace when my mind and heart are fixed upon You* rather than the besetting problems that confront me daily. Help me to wholeheartedly seek You and rely on Your Holy Word so that I will experience perfect peace. It is in this spiritual attitude that I will fully trust You to work out the problems that greatly concern me and it will help me not to take matters into my own hands which only leads to more trouble. You have overcome the world and You will also help me to overcome my troubles. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is because of Your wise and loving character that You teach us about the wiles of our adversary, the devil, and his cunning ways. We are not caught unaware but recognize his strategy as we regularly read Your Word and store it up in our hearts. Your precepts are right and because of that we hate every wrong path. Direct our footsteps according to Your Word so that we stay in pace with You, observing the yellow lights of caution, stopping at the red lights of danger, and staying within the confines of Your guardrails. As we do so we will not allow sin to dominate our lives or lead us astray. We pray for Your guidance which leads to blessing in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray for our young people that they will do right in Your sight and follow in the ways of godly training. We pray for our children, grandchildren, and those within our Christian setting; that they will learn to seek You early in their lives, avoiding the many traps set by the devil, including the current trappings seen in the daily news where people are following false religions, supporting dangerous causes, and contributing to the demise of our country, where law and order was once respected and upheld by the majority in our country. We pray for the innocent families harmed by such violent, senseless acts of evil. We are in great need of a worldwide revival. Help us not to veer off course, but to stay on the straight and narrow way that leads to eternal life. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are a chosen generation, a people set apart to show forth the praises of Christ who has called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light. Since You have illumined our darkness we will not conceal it, but rather shine forth wherever we are; in the marketplace, in our homes, in the business place, in the neighborhood, in the voting booth, in church and wherever we have opportunity to bring forth light in this world of darkness. We can make a difference and want to do so. We want to witness faithfully of the light of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I am thankful for the sense of smell. Depending on what I am smelling it can bring about a pleasant response where I linger taking in more and more of the pleasing scent. Today, I pray that the spiritual fruit from my life would emit such an aroma. First, I want to offer to You the sweet smelling sacrifice of a life fully surrendered to You. Secondly, I pray that those whom I see today would find my words and/or actions to be a very uplifting part of their day. May I bring encouragement through pleasant conversation and by taking a personal interest in others. Keep my mind and words from wandering in the cesspool of lies, jealousy, gossip, immorality and hatred. Instead I want to spread the aroma of the living Christ that others might seek Him. You will bring about divine appointments throughout my day if I make the most of every opportunity. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, what an incredible experience for the disciples to see Jesus, Moses, and Elijah in their heavenly splendor; to witness the true Kingdom of God while they lived here on earth. Theirs was an eyewitness account but there are very special times when we, as believers, experience extraordinary manifestations of Your Heavenly Kingdom in our hearts as well. We welcome the supernatural visitation of the Holy Spirit to renew our spirit and reaffirm our commitment to follow You all the days of our life. And when we may blurt out, not knowing what we are saying thank You for Your grace. In the name of Your precious Son, Jesus, we pray, amen. Heavenly Father, our lives are often tossed to and fro by the billows of heartache, loss, and uncertainty. We’re so grateful for caring friends who are like the islanders of Malta in Acts 28 who cheer us on and wave us in as we’re seeking steady, dry land. They welcome us with warmth like that of a sizzling campfire when we’re drenched with chilling water from the billowing sea. Rather than shake their finger at us and scolding us for getting caught in the storm, they provide shelter, food, and wise counsel so that we no longer feel alone or fear that we will perish in our troubles. Help us to kindle our friendship by acting as a lighthouse giving out Scriptural light to navigate our friends through the scourging rocks of sin and despair. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as a nation it seems that we are so greatly divided that peace is far beyond our grasp. Sometimes division comes not because we want to be at odds with others but because we take a stand for righteousness sake like James and John, Peter and Paul. We seek Your guidance in these troubled days when good is called evil and evil is called good. We want to get along with our fellow man, contribute to the needs of those around us, and bring peace and reconciliation to those who live in strife. But when the circumstances that cause division are a result of our stand for that which is Biblical help us to courageously cling to Your righteous right hand treating those who oppose us with gentleness and respect since Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. It is in His name that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, In the maze of life’s events where we’re often a passenger on the rollercoaster of life’s ups and downs, may we never lose sight of You, Jesus. You are the unseen but ever-present Shepherd who protects, guides and tenderly comforts us in all our trouble. Thank You, Lord, that when change is constantly about us, You remain steadfast, faithful, and dependable. You are the Anchor that keeps us grounded in the unseen but eternal truths we build our lives upon. Keep us faithful and help us to fix our eyes on the unseen as we await that glad day when our faith will be rewarded with the visible, eternal blessings You have stored up for those who believe. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
