Heavenly Father, I give You Praises today. You are merciful and righteous and You are compassionate. You are the God of second chances and we thank You for seeing our plight and sending Your Holy Spirit to awaken us from our stupor of laziness, indifference, hardness and outright rebellion. It seems we slip into such a stupor without realizing how we even got there, but when we earnestly seek You we can rekindle the embers of trust and faith, servanthood and obedience. Just as the Psalmist found himself in the literal dry and weary desert of Judah where there was no water, we too can feel parched within our spirit. Yet deep within we know that You are our help; You will rescue us from the dryness of our spirit and refresh us with the dewdrops of Your Holy Spirit causing us to sing in the shadow of Your wings. Our soul will cling to You, while Your right hand upholds us strengthening that which remains which was about to die. We cling to You through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I am thankful for so many of my brothers and sisters that You have put in my circle of friends, whether it be ones that I have met personally, or on-line. I consider the character traits that make a healthy friendship: loyalty, compassion, kindness, honesty, patience, forgiveness and a listening ear are just a few of the qualities that are evident in a good friendship. There are so many stories in the Gospels where these qualities are easily seen in the friendships Jesus had with the disciples and others. May the foundation of my friendships be based on godly traits as I come alongside my friends to encourage, challenge, inspire, and stimulate them toward good works in Your name. In the name of Jesus I ask and thank. Amen. Heavenly Father, Your people who share Your special favor should concur in Your praises and magnify Your name together. Upon every fresh occurrence of Your mercies, let us renew our praises, encouraging others to trust in You. The true and only way to happiness is to walk in the love and favor of knowing You and in trusting You. King David writes that those who look to You are radiant. Perhaps only You see such radiance, yet any brightness that flows from us is possible because we reflect the light of Your indwelling life much like the moon that reflects the light of the sun. Thank You for choosing to dwell among the human race through the person of Jesus, and thank You for choosing to dwell within the hearts of all who are yielded to Your Spirit. Through Christ we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, may we have a heart towards You like King David had as we can see this in Psalms 51. I pray that You would wash me so that I will be whiter than snow. Hide Your face from my sins which are great and dishonor You so much that I can’t bear for You to look upon them. Blot out all my iniquity. O Lord, open my lips and my mouth that will enable me to declare Your praise. It isn’t the burnt offering that You delight in but the sacrifice of my broken spirit; it is a broken and contrite heart that You desire in me. As I come to You in humility and brokenness of spirit You restore to me the joy of Your salvation much like the new fallen snow that covers the earth. Lord, from what I have learned, all the believer’s wrong doings comes to a climax at the foot of the throne, being violation of God’s law. While the penalty of sin has been blotted out by the blood of Your Son, the defilement of all subsequent sin remains. Confession brings sin out of its hiding place and enables the sinner to take sides with God against it. Thank You for being merciful and forgiving. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that You have given us for a guide for righteous living. As believers, we are put to the test daily regarding our adherence to the Scriptures that teach right from wrong, truth from error. Included are numerous examples of those who represent both camps. We have the golden opportunity to learn lessons from those who were obedient to Your laws and from those who chose to disregard them. Help us to remember that disobedience, disregard, or dilution of the Scriptures will weaken us and eventually harden our hearts to spiritual truths. We choose either to be shaped by the world or by the Word. Our will and desires cannot be shaped by both. We choose this day to be Your obedient servant no matter the consequences, for Your blessing is more to be desired than the applause of the world. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, in this day and age we see all the things Jesus warned abut happening. As Christians, if we keep our focus on Christ and we are in obedience to Him, we have God's protection. We want to be a shining light to the nations, bring a word of hope to the peoples of this earth so that the whole world will know there’s salvation in Your name, there’s awe in Your supernatural deeds and there is eternity to be gained in exchange for a temporal world. We don’t want to take for granted Your awesome deeds recorded in Scriptures or things done for us in the past. Would you do it again, Lord! Reveal Your power anew and make it known in our time, we pray. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, I believe in You and I trust in You completely. Lord, in this age of competition and egocentricity help us to resist the mindset of the world. We’re tempted to focus on big numbers, large budgets, expensive buildings, newest resources, impressive staff and other worldly comparisons of those who share in this calling to minister to our lost and dying world. When our focus is narrowed to imitating or competing with other ministry groups we lose sight of the One to whom we are honoring and our priorities become misaligned. We want to thank You for the scores of people and ministries that are making a tremendous spiritual impact for Your Kingdom, the vast majority of whom are unheralded and unseen. As Your followers, move us beyond pettiness, jealousy, and possessiveness to appreciate and affirm those who might have a different way of presenting the Gospel as long as it is in accordance with the Scripture. Help us to support and pray for one another as we carry forth the light of God’s Word. You have called each one of us to lift up Your name and You will draw people to Yourself. As we seek You above all else You will be our daily guide and out of our hearts will flow abundant springs of living water that will not run dry even in a drought stricken land.We thank You Jesus and I pray this in Your name. Amen. Heavenly Father, Christian fortitude will always be sharpened by opposition. Every temptation to draw us from duty and into a snare, should drive us to closer to You and quicken us the more to duty. As I stand at the crossroads of decision where I am pulled in many directions, I direct my attention to the well-worn path marked out by faithful followers of God throughout the centuries – the faithful ones who remained true to Your ancient law whose hearts did not betray the One True God. With godly determination I earnestly desire to follow in the steps of the Master that leads me to find rest for my soul on earth and secures a heavenly home where my soul no longer grows weary or disheartened. By Your grace I move forward in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are the Father of all nations and we’re grateful that, as believers, our citizenship is primarily in heaven and we share this glorious citizenship with our brothers and sisters all over the world. We want to always remember You in the midst of our prosperity and seek to keep Your commandments. We pray for a massive worldwide revival where people will humble themselves, seek Your face, pray and turn from their wicked ways so that we will hear from Heaven and You will heal our sin sick land. Until that hour we will remain faithful and unwavering in our commitment to follow Your Word while we eagerly await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we are out and about witnessing to others, let us remember. You didn’t command us to change the hearts of those walking in darkness, for only You can do that. But You did command that we let our light shine so that others will see Your work in our lives and glorify You, our Father in heaven. May the work of our hands and the words that flow from our lips be expressions of Your indwelling light that guides us day by day. We desire, along with multitudes of other believers, to be a sunbeam shattering the spreading darkness as we walk circumspectly in Your ways. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. |
