Heavenly Father, help our ears to be alert, our eyes to be open, and our hearts to be perceptive as we follow in Your ways. May we be eager to hear Your teaching and apply it to our lives so that we may be found blameless before You and experience the joy You give to those who follow Your commands. When Your meaning is clear help us to seek no other meaning to satisfy our own desires or to change the clear meaning of Your message. Align our desires with Your own, that we might find genuine peace and wholehearted obedience as You bring spiritual healing to our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we know that we must do more than just read Your Word, but we must apply Your truths so that we and others see the work of Your Spirit in our lives. The Israelites looked to You for guidance in the cloud by day and the fire by night. They learned when to wait and when to walk. It is in the waiting times that we learn endurance and it is in the walking times that we learn to trust. There is much learning that takes place whether we are being still or whether we are on the “go”, that is, if our spirit is teachable. Whether we are moving forward or staying still our hope is in You all the day long. In the name of Yeshua. Amen. Heavenly Father, we recognize the spiritual, emotional, and physical strength that comes from relying on truths and principles established in Your Word. Impress them deep into our hearts like embedded nails so that we hold firmly to them. Otherwise we get lax and are led astray from the paths You’ve laid out for us. Much like the oxen we need the goading or prodding of Your Holy Spirit to keep our hearts in check and our will submitted to Your leading as our Shepherd. Keep us faithful we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are so very grateful for the signs of life, color, beauty, shape and functionality that are evident in the plants and vegetation all around us; a result of Your creative handwork on the third day of creation. Though You are Creator, You have made us stewards and caretakers of that which You created. What a joy it is to plant a seed or seedling in the ground and watch as You also provide the carbon dioxide, rain, and sunshine to aid its health and growth. We affirm once again in our writings and prayer that You are the divine Creator of the universe and all things are in submission to Your creative power in accordance to Your will. In the name of Jesus we thank You for these life-sustaining blessings. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking to us through Bible doctrine, parables, fellow believers, and through life-altering events in our lives. You beamed Your searchlight from the portals of heaven to show us how lost we were. We’re tremendously blessed to know that celestial beings held a celebration in heaven when we chose to be Your followers. Though misplacing material items leads to time lost and great frustration, even panic; misplacing our faith leads to error here and eternal damnation there. Father, You’ve shown us the way and instructed us, “This is the way; walk in it.” Help us to seek out others who’ve yet to find The Way so that they too will follow You and cause rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents. Even as they rejoice in heaven we will rejoice on earth. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when we read that Eli’s sons became wicked men and had no regard for the Lord, and that Samuel’s sons did not follow in his ways but chose to turn aside after dishonest gain, accepting bribes and perverted justice, it grieves our hearts. These were spiritual leaders who did great things for Your kingdom yet were ignored by their own offspring. We too have prodigals in our families, whether it’s our own child, a sibling, a nephew or niece, or grandchild. Some of us bear the burden for families in our congregation who have prodigal(s). Jesus describes the father who was watching for his prodigal from a great distance. We too will continue to look and pray until our prodigal returns to his or her spiritual roots. May our genuine love and tender compassion help to draw them to the heart of Christ who wants to restore and make them whole again. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, once the blood is drained out of creatures they are dead and lifeless, “for the life of a creature is in the blood.” Thank You for presenting “Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood”—that is received by faith for all who choose to follow in Your ways. Christ’s life for mine, how could it be that Jesus, Your Son, would die to save a lost sinner like me. Unworthy and unable to atone for my own sin, Jesus gave His life for mine. To my dying day here on earth and for all eternity I will forever praise and give thanks to my Redeemer. Thank You Yeshua for freeing me of my sins and I pray this prayer in Your name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we read throughout the period of the Judges that the people of Israel endured great heartache and spiritual defeat because each one became his own authority and acted on his own opinions of what was right and wrong. They did not look to You as the final authority; they disregarded Your holy laws and chose to do that which was right in their own eyes. We see this prevailing attitude in our own day. But as believers we acknowledge that our judgment is flawed and our motives are selfish when we do not submit our will to a holy God who knows what is best for His children. We want to obey Your laws and surrender our will as we seek to do what is good and right in Your eyes. This will result in our hearts being strengthened and our lives being blessed as we walk in the ways of Christ in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we pray for a spirit of cooperation and eagerness to contribute to the needs of the whole body, so that Your Church is built not just with sweat, bricks, and mortar but with love, care, and teamwork. Therefore we seek to act in cooperation, unity and purpose as we do our part in building each other up in the various natural giftings and learned skills You have given us as we strive for unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God. We also want to be on the look-out for opportunities to reach out to those who are not of the household of faith. Through our loving and generous endeavors toward their needs we have more opportunity to share the gospel of Christ with them, helping them not just here and now but reaching them for all eternity. Thank You precious Jesus and we pray this in Your name. Amen. Heavenly Father, as You call us to walk the narrow path the vast majority rejects, we thank You for the godly examples who have gone before us and shown us the way. Such giants of the faith as Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Paul and countless others throughout the generations including our own. We thank You, Father, for the sterling example in our godly brothers, Billy Graham and David Wilkerson, who have left a spiritual mark upon millions of lives in our own lifetime. These giants of the faith have shown us the way to be faithful even in the midst of adversity. They made great sacrifices in their lifetime to gain an eternal inheritance in heaven. Their sacrifice was temporal and short in duration compared to the eternal pleasures they now enjoy. Help us not to resent the struggles that lead us to seek You in a deeper more intimate relationship. May we, like Job, declare “I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted. My ears had heard of You but now my eyes have seen You” (Job 42:2,5). In the name of Yeshua we ask and thank. Amen. |
