Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus, my Lord and my Savoir. I praise You for sending Jesus to free me from the bondage I was in. We who were once darkness, are now light in the Lord, through our salvation in Christ Jesus. We live as children of light partaking of the fruit of the light which consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. We seek to find out what pleases You, rather than ourselves. The vast majority take no thought for their future life but live only for the “here and now”. They gather treasures that have no eternal value, that are washed away like the sand when the waves wash upon the shore. To their eternal demise they dismiss the treasures that lasts for all eternity; those which never perish, spoil or fade kept in heaven for believers who will later claim their treasure trove. Help us, as children of light, to be faithful in exposing the darkness of this world and the dangers that lie therein, warning those who travel alongside us to prepare not just for this life, but for all of eternity. Amen.

Heavenly Father, grant us strength and courage as we face the many decisions to divert from Your plan of truth and righteousness. May godly character be that by which we are known, for a good name is more desirable than great riches (Proverbs 22:1). May the rewards of our good character lead to blessings for ourselves as well as for our children (Proverbs 20:7). And may our children be known by their actions as well, by whether their conduct is pure and right (Proverbs 20:11). Help us to make every effort to grow in our character as we add to our faith, goodness, and knowledge, and self-control, and perseverance, and godliness, and brotherly kindness and love. For if we possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep us from being ineffective and unproductive in our knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord God, I also pray that each brother and sister will search these scriptures out. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I’m so glad our citizenship is in heaven where we eagerly await our Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly bodies so that we will be like His glorious body. We’re also glad for the repairs we can make to these mortal bodies that keep us living and experiencing a quality of life that makes life more bearable and our experience on earth more enjoyable. But we know that one day these bodies will give out and we will exchange them for immortal bodies that will never need repair, that will never age, and that will never grow weary. Until then help us to keep on keeping on and looking up with anticipation for the soon coming King. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You are a shelter in the time of storm and a refuge in the time of danger. You not only protect but You provide for our every need. The cross is our refuge where we flee from the penalty of sin and it is our provision for eternal life because we now approach the throne of grace through the righteous blood of Jesus the spotless Lamb. Because of that we can enter heaven’s gates and forever worship the King of kings and Lord of lords. And it’s all because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and Your acceptance of His blood as the penalty for our sins. We give thanks to Jesus for being our refuge from sin and Your acceptance of His substitutionary death on our behalf. Amen. Heavenly Father, our lives are often tossed to and fro by the billows of heartache, loss, disappointment and uncertainty. We’re so grateful for caring friends who are like the islanders of Malta in Acts 28 who cheer us on and wave us in as we’re seeking dry and steady ground. They welcome us with warmth like that of a sizzling campfire when we’re drenched with chilling water from the billowing sea. Rather than shake their finger at us and scolding us for getting caught in the storm, they provide shelter, food, and wise counsel so that we no longer feel alone or fear that we will perish in our troubles. Help us to kindle friendship with others by being a beacon of light providing support, encouragement and scriptural navigation helping them to replace their despair with eternal hope. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I feel such deep gratitude when I consider how patient You are with my frequent shortcomings and outright defiance. You don’t toss me aside and move on to a more deserving person, but You continue to come alongside me and Your Word continues to speak to my heart, refresh my spirit, and guide me in the paths of righteousness. When I’m tempted to think that my spouse, child, grandson, friends or people I meet online doesn’t deserve another chance I’m reminded of Your continual forbearance with me. May I be forgiving even as You continually forgive me. May Your divine grace bring the virtues of forgiveness, forbearance and love together in perfect unity so that they guide my thoughts and guard my heart against hatefulness and lack of forgiveness. Thank You Jesus for coming into my heart and making changes that need to be done. It's in You name pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I listen to those that are part of this ministry and those I converse with outside, there seems to be a darkness. We pray for those who are walking in the valley of the shadow of death with a loved one today. Give them deep abiding peace and calm assurance in place of worry and fear as they’re confronted with the circumstances that surround them this day. We pray for their loved one who is waging war between life and death, that they will find a place of quiet rest near to Your heart, O God; a place where Your sweet Spirit ministers in ways where human words fall short. Help us to trust You for that which we can’t understand and to search the Scriptures for that which You want us to more fully comprehend on this side about life and death. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Father, Your Word teaches us that the way to heaven isn’t secured by what we say with our lips or the label we go by. Instead the way to heaven is found through surrendering our lives to Lord Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. As we surrender to Your will we will obey Your commands and live a life above reproach, conforming our will and desire to Yours. Spiritual showmanship will not assure us entry into heaven, for Jesus taught that some who cast out demons, perform miracles, and prophesy in His name did not gain entry into heaven since they were living double lives. Outwardly they performed great works in Your name, but inwardly they were sinful and disobedient. Hypocrites are usually exposed in time, but many will not be exposed until the final harvest. Help us to live humble lives, not seeking to impress others by our good works, but rather seeking to live earnest lives of obedience to Your commands with ever-increasing love for Your people and for the lost. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we confess that undesirable circumstances can prompt an attitude of grumbling instead of gratitude, unless we have developed the spirit of gratitude which does away with grumbling. It doesn’t come as naturally as the common five senses but Your Word develops our sense of gratitude as we apply its truths and prayerfully adapt it to our way of looking at things. Help us to give thanks in everything, for this is Your will, through Christ Jesus our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessing and usefulness of our hands. We’re so accustomed to having them at our disposal we rarely consider how different our lives would be without them. They’re used for nurturing, correcting, guiding, and protecting those entrusted to our care. They’re used for working, cleaning, building, writing, driving, typing, clutching, shaping, mending, drawing, washing, digging, planting, cutting, and on and on the list goes. We use them often to show our love to others by what we might do for them or make for them, or by clasping their hand in loving affection. And the greatest use of our hands is raising them heavenward in honor and praise to the very One who made them. Your lovingkindness is better than life. My lips shall praise You, thus will I bless You, for I lift up my hands unto Your name. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we ask and thank. Amen. |
