Heavenly Father, just like the man whose son was filled with a dumb spirit and the dad said: "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Let us believe if faith that You will perform all that You have promised to us in Christ, that brings our soul a present fruition and foretaste of eternal things, which sets a seal that You are true. The way of faith is the way of victory, peace, assurance, and endurance. As we can read in the book of Hebrews: Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” It is the kind of faith that is triumphant in the worst of circumstances because our faith in Christ is the victory that overcomes the world. We will not be overcome by life’s circumstances but we will overcome life’s circumstances by the blood of the Lamb. If we fully forsake this world, if we immerse ourselves in the Scriptures, and if we saturate our hearts in prayer, I believe we can experience a faith view of heaven that is nearly as real as a physical view of our home here on earth. Help us to pursue such a spiritual goal in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this day and we thank You for the measure of faith You have placed in each of us. Just like how our muscles need to be worked to increase and stay strong we know that our faith is increased and strengthened as we pray often in the Holy Spirit, as we keep ourselves in Your love instead of the love of the world. We direct our hearts to You in faith, prayer, and love as we anxiously await eternal life which is the greatest gift given to the believer because of Christ’s sacrificial death on our behalf. Keep us faithful and ever looking to the prize of the high calling we have through Christ Jesus our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I lift up the family of my aunt who went home to be with you yesterday. This is a woman who I know prayed for my salvation for many years. Lord, we thank You that the grave is not the end for the believer, but simply the passage way into an eternal dwelling with You. The last enemy to be destroyed is death, but the lights of glory will welcome us into our eternal home where we will reunite with our dear loved ones who’ve gone before us. For those who’ve lost loved ones in the midst of their serving our country in some capacity we pray for their peace and comfort knowing that they too paid a price for our freedoms, comfort and safety. We pray for our persecuted brethren that Your Holy Spirit would be like a soothing salve, an anesthetic in the midst of their ongoing deprivation and abuse; that it would apply equally for their grieving family members. We pray for deliverance from their captivity and for their opportunity to share the gospel with cellmates, guards and others whom they interface with. We pray this through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for another day You have made for us. Lord, this is another day that each believer can do what You have called them to do and one of the most merciful acts we can carry out is that of forgiving one who has intentionally harmed us. It’s as much for their benefit as it is ours, since it keeps the root of bitterness from growing weeds in our heart. Apostle Paul, being led by the Holy Spirit said "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Lord, there are so many opportunities You give us to reach out in mercy to those who have less, those who lack abilities that we take for granted, those whose spirit is broken and we are called to be part of that mending. Merciful Father, show us a way that we can be Your hand extended to those most especially needing it today. Thank You Lord and in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, help me to be lowly minded and like-minded, in conformity to the example of the Lord Jesus, the great pattern of humility and love in service to man. He humbled Himself in suffering and death for us, not only to satisfy God’s justice, but to set us an example that we might follow His steps—bearing a resemblance to His life, since we have profited by His death. Lord, Your watchful eye brings great assurance to my heart as You lead me in the way of the righteous day by day. You watch over me in my time of recreation and in the midst of my struggles and losses. In times of temptation Your watchful eye and words of Scripture prevent me from yielding to sin. I invite You to protect me from those who seek to do evil as You watch over me day and night. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as Jesus was entering Jerusalem to be rejected and crucified according to the divine purpose. The great song of rejoicing will yet be taken up by innumerable multitudes when He returns to receive the Church and set up His Kingdom. Lord, our hearts are stirred as we consider the extent of Your love in sending Jesus to die for our sins. As He wept over Jerusalem we see His tender humanity in relation to our sin problem. How grateful we are that Jesus yielded Himself fully to be a sin sacrifice, once for all, not just for Jerusalem but for peoples of every tribe and language; for all generations prior to His sacrificial death and for all who follow. Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! I praise You Jesus and I pray this in Your Mighty name. Amen. Heavenly Father every word of Your Book is pure; You are a shield to those who put their trust in You. Jesus said: "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me." I will not fear for You have redeemed me and called me by name. You know when I pass through the waters and You have promised to be with me; when I cross through the rivers they will not sweep over me. When I walk through the fire I will not be burned for You walk with me. Though trials may engulf me and tempt me to be paralyzed by fear, I can overcome the enemy of fear just as Jesus overcame the power of death. May the resurrected power of Jesus subside my fears and doubts while building my faith and trust in the Holy One of Israel. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing and in His name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You loved us so much You gave Your only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not die but will have eternal life. Your immeasurable love and unending forgiveness are characteristics that only a true living God like You can dispense, so much so, that even the vilest offender who truly believes will be pardoned by You. Because of Your tremendous example of love and forgiveness toward us, we can also extend our love and forgiveness toward others. As recipients of Your goodness may we be dispensers of Your blessings to those You bring into our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are Your children. We thank You for the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit. May Your Words be impressed upon our hearts as we give regular attention to them through reading and memorizing the Scriptures. We don’t want a casual attitude about Your Holy Word, but rather we want to be earnest students of Your Word genuinely contending for the faith. Help us not to be absent minded when approaching the gospel truths but rather be wholly present that we might partake of all that You have to teach and show us in Your Word. May we never weary of the basics of the gospel or lose the awe and wonder of seeing a life that is changed when redemption takes place. We want to hunger and thirst after righteousness and never lose sight of the old, old story that will be our theme throughout eternity. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love towards us. What encouragement I find from reading in the books of Psalms this morning. I love where it says, "Like a nurturing eagle, You cover us with Your feathers so that we find refuge under Your protective wings. As we live in daily communion with You we are protected from the snare of the enemy." Therefore we need not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day. Because we have made the Lord Most High our dwelling You have commanded the angels to guard us in all our ways. You will be with us in trouble, You will deliver us and honor us. What greater blessing could we want than to know we are under Your protective, loving care. Thank You, Father, for being all that we need here and now, and providing for our hereafter. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. |
