Heavenly Father, when You took the dust of the ground to form Adam and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life You had a purpose for his existence on earth. And You have a purpose for all human life. Forgive us for assuming that we know more than You, the Creator of life, in willfully choosing whether one is allowed to live and another is destined to die before one breathes his or her first independent breath. We thank You for the millions who take a visible stand for life, based not on a popular theme but on truths established in Your Holy Word. Help us to be vigilant in doing what is right and good in Your sight, even when it is inconvenient and costly to our personal lives. In our disposable society help us never to dispose of human life that You created or to dispose of truths that You intended for us to live by in favor of a political, intellectual, or financial agenda. We pray for those in the abortion industry who are motivated by financial gain by the taking of innocent life much like Judas who took the 30 pieces of silver as He handed Jesus over to those who would crucify Him. Like Joseph’s brothers who took the 20 pieces of silver in exchange for selling their innocent brother. Father, we look to You in faith asking that You speak to the indifferent and bigoted hearts that cause innocent lives to be slaughtered every minute of every day. We pray this impassioned prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we know that wisdom is given to those who submit to Your authority, honor You and reverence Your holiness. The opposite is true of fools since they despise wisdom and godly instruction. You grant a treasure of good sense to the godly, for You are our shield, protecting us as we walk in integrity. When we come under Your authority we will know how to find the right course of action when seeking answers, for wisdom will enter our hearts, and knowledge will fill us with joy. Wise planning will watch over us. Discernment and understanding will keep us safe. Father, You are the bright light that comes bursting forth when darkness seeks to blindside our view. All foes are rendered powerless in Your presence and at Your command. Thank You for the marvelous wisdom available to us as Your children. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I talk to so many who are so upset and hurt because of the lies and deceptiveness from a corrupt party and most of the media, let us remember that You are still with those that have called upon Your Son and asked Him into their hearts. I watch and see reports of how this new man who is to be sworn into office is already stripping our Christian rights. Unborn babies are even more in jeopardy. Already, they want to pass more perversion into law by saying prostitution is okay and has to be accepted. Father God, so many are hurting from this Covid thing. We see store shelves already starting to empty because of panic. In many places in this country scores of railroad cars are carrying military vehicles to cities. I have had so many conversations with people that are scared and feel hopeless. With how this country is, many feel at times like no one cares about their needs or even notices that they are in need. Lord, we are assured that You take notice and do care for us. We are invited to pour out the contents of our heart to You. We are not silenced because You’re too busy, preoccupied with other matters, unable to meet our need, nor are you weary of hearing from us. Your heart is touched by our grief, perplexities, weaknesses and loneliness. We thank You that we can cast our cares upon You because You really do care for us. Thank You Jesus and in Your Holy and precious name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we seek to honor You in our lives. We don’t want our lasting legacy to go down in the history books like that of King Manasseh and his son Amon, who forsook You, the God of his father, King Hezekiah. Though he repented late in his reign so many he had already influenced for evil, went on to influence their children and their children’s children. Instead we want our lives to reflect that of King Hezekiah who trusted in You, the God of Israel. Thank You, Father, for letting us make choices for ourselves, but we dare not trust our own wisdom in making these choices. We rely on the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to establish the desirable pattern for right living here and now for that will also determine our future for all of eternity. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I ask myself, “Am I living in a manner worthy of Your name? Do I seek to please You rather than myself? Does the fruit of my labor reflect the Spirit of Christ living within my heart? Do I have a zeal for the things of Christ and a desire to know Him better, to reflect His character every day in my life? Am I steady or do I sputter in my Christian influence?” Father, in all these things I want to be more like Christ, consistent in the ways that bring glory to Your name and growth in my spiritual nature. I want my spiritual walk to be the most important pursuit of my life as I journey here below so that I may influence as many as possible to live for Jesus. It is in Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we as followers of Christ, we must be careful to follow the Bible’s pattern of sound teaching. At times we find ourselves arguing with Your truths and teaching from Scripture, our thoughts being at odds with Bible teaching that doesn’t fit in with the views and lifestyles we’re drawn to which are patterned after the world’s thinking. Yet You are the Author of truth, You know that which will bring us good and that which will bring us harm. Help us not to read and interpret Scripture so that it aligns with our view point, instead we want to align our view point in accordance with the Scriptures. We want to love You with all our heart so that we will follow the pattern of sound doctrine and walk in accordance with the Scripture. In n the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, because the Israelites dwelt in tents in their wilderness wanderings, You instructed that a tabernacle be constructed that would travel with them, where Your presence would abide. Surely the instructions You provided Moses did not always make sense nor would they have fully understood the purpose of all the particulars, yet the Israelites followed the instructions, thereby honoring You and blessing Moses as their leader. They responded to Moses’ instructions by giving, doing, and following in total the directions You laid out. Help us to practice obedience even when we can’t see the end results, for that is what You ask of us; to trust You, yield to You, and fully obey You. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, in this ever-changing society where transition beckons us daily, You are the Changeless One. As we hold tightly to the hope we profess we will not be swayed to the right nor to the left. And we hold to this hope because You are faithful to Your Word and to Your divine character. Though the heavens are silent at times and the world continues to slide into decadence and intolerance toward true Christians we remain faithful. We will hold on a little while longer and shine as lights in this dark world so that we can influence as many as possible. As we hold unswervingly to the hope we profess we will not give up due to weariness, weakness, or a wayward heart, for Your unchanging truth makes the triumph sure. We joyfully have enlisted, led by Your grace divine. Amen. Heavenly Father, the race You’ve marked out for us doesn’t require nearly as much physical stamina as it does spiritual endurance. Those who are physically weak due to disease, illness, and aging are just as qualified to run as those who have young athletic bodies. It’s a spiritual race where You call us to perseverance as we discard anything that would break our stride or cause us to drop out. You cheer us on by Christ’s example and by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit that sustains us in our struggle against sin. Keep us faithful to the end, for the end is only the beginning. We seek to run the race before us, strong and brave to face the foe, looking only unto Jesus as we onward go. In the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, may the love of Jesus fill me as the waters fill the sea; with Him exalting, my self-surrendering, this is truly victory. Like the apostle Paul I am delighted to share with others not only Your gospel but my life as well, giving of my time, my knowledge, sharing of my possessions and helping to bear the burdens of the weak, helpless, and discouraged, offering a lifting hand, sharing an encouraging word with one who needs to be uplifted. More of You and less of me is my heart’s desire as I journey here below. In the name of Jesus. Amen. |
