Heavenly Father, we are so very grateful that our family roots are not the sole source of who we are nor does it dictate what we can accomplish. Our spiritual roots, because of our well-grounded faith in You, goes much deeper and spreads much broader. We are able to accomplish the impossible and overcome life’s difficulties because our roots are connected to the Miracle Worker. May the water of Your Holy Spirit quench our thirst and the spiritual food from Your inspired Holy Word satisfy our hunger causing us to grow in spiritual maturity. We remain safe and secure, firmly rooted in You. Father, though the winds and storms may shake us from time to time, it is in You that we live and move and have our being! Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the physical instruments You supply when You created us. We have mouths to speak, ears to hear, eyes to see, feet to walk, and hands to work. We dedicate our lives to You and to Your service, whether it is related to evangelism and the church or whether it is the work we do in places of employment or in our community. May our labor be sweet in Your sight, worthy of honor, and a blessing to others so that we all pitch in to make this world a better place to live, until we reach our eternal abode where sin will not be present nor will there be any more sorrow or sadness. And it’s all because of Jesus in whose name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, with great anticipation I am looking for a city with an eternally strong foundation, a home in the heavens not made by human hands. Help me to live as an alien here on earth since the benefits of my citizenship in heaven is of far greater worth than the benefits of my citizenship here in this country below. Keep me tightly holding onto Your promise of the heaven yet to come so that I will loosely grip the temporal that is only for the here and now. I cling to this great promise repeated throughout the Bible so that it gives me a proper perspective in the way I am to live as a stranger here on earth. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, this journey we are on is long. This spiritual walk with You, we encounter many obstacles that come against us and try to steer us down wrong paths. The endurance needed to live by faith is the challenge given to every believer. In ourselves we are ill-equipped physically, mentally, and emotionally to endure to the end. But You give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Our brothers and sisters help strengthen our weak hands and our feeble knees. With the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus we find the strength to press onward and upward. It is in Jesus’ name that we press on and also pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, in this ever-changing society where transition beckons us daily, You are the Changeless One. As we hold tightly to the hope we profess we will not be swayed to the right nor to the left. And we hold to this hope because You are faithful to Your Word and to Your divine character. Though the heavens are silent at times and the world continues to slide into decadence and intolerance toward true Christians we remain faithful. We will hold on a little while longer and shine as lights in this dark world so that we can influence as many as possible. As we hold unswervingly to the hope we profess we will not give up due to weariness, weakness, or a wayward heart, for Your unchanging truth makes the triumph sure. We joyfully have enlisted, led by Your grace divine. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, shape my thinking into that which will bring about growth and conformity to Your will. Teach me to think not in accordance with my own human instincts or that of others, but in accordance with the truth as revealed in Your Word. There is a growing majority of those with a secular platform whose hearts are hardened against godly teaching. They are darkened in their understanding to the point that they choose and condone sinful behavior. With the growing acceptance and visibility of every kind of impurity I ask You to help me stand firm to that which is taught in Scripture lest I be drawn by the tempter into this contest of depravity that spreads daily in this evil world. I am not discouraged but determined to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and invite others to join me on the straight and narrow way that leads to life eternal. It’s in Jesus name that I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, though I am sometimes perplexed by that which I don’t understand I have an unshakable confidence in You. Your Word is truth and Your promises never fail. There are many things of which I am uncertain, but I have absolute certainty that I can trust You for everything that concerns me. May obedience be an expression of my unwavering trust and devoted love toward You, my Lord and my God. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, there is a fight to fight and a race to run. The race You’ve marked out for us doesn’t require nearly as much physical stamina as it does spiritual endurance. Those who are physically weak due to disease, illness, and aging are just as qualified to run as those who have young athletic bodies. It’s a spiritual race where You call us to perseverance as we discard anything that would break our stride or cause us to drop out. You cheer us on by Christ’s example and by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit that sustains us in our struggle against sin. Keep us faithful to the end, for the end is only the beginning. We seek to run the race before us, strong and brave to face the foe, looking only unto Jesus as we onward go. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, for those that know You, You are love. Jesus is love. May the love of Jesus fill me as the waters fill the sea; with Him exalting, my self-surrendering, this is truly victory. Like the apostle Paul I am delighted to share with others not only Your gospel but my life as well, giving of my time, my knowledge, sharing of my possessions and helping to bear the burdens of the weak, helpless, and discouraged, offering a lifting hand, sharing an encouraging word with one who needs to be uplifted. More of You and less of me is my heart’s desire as I journey here below. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, I do believe that we are going to see more unpleasant things happen this year. We can see this nation dividing. I believe we are going to see more disasters than last year, but I'm not moved by that. I trust in You and Your Word and the Holy Spirit to guide me through those storms. Lord, may Your peace rule our lives in everything, enabling us to remain calm and trusting in the midst of our own troubles, so that we might also reach out to others who suffer in sickness or in sorrow. We want to be Your hand extended to them so that they may know the God of all comfort. You are our Comforter who lifts us when we are downcast, who provides refuge from the howling storms of life, and the God of eternal hope when our circumstances seem hopeless. May we convey to others this wondrous uplifting message of comfort and hope to those whose life’s circumstances has hidden You from view. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. |
