Heavenly Father, help me to realize that bitterness results from my accommodation to deep seated anger for unfortunate circumstances usually beyond my control. When I choose to harbor anger and an unforgiving spirit I do the greatest harm to myself rather than my offender and pulls me away from You. The pain and grief related to my heartache grows into a poisonous vine that begins to entwine itself around my heart. Instead of seeing the abundant blessings that You shower upon me daily and the countless times You’ve forgiven me for my sinful behavior, I focus on the raging storms that have left destruction and debris along my path. Father, You want me to turn away from my bitter rage and choose to safely abide under Your wings of protection. Help me to find refuge in You instead of cultivating my pain. Only You can bring healing and restoration for my soul. Help me to release my bitterness and embrace Your balm of healing. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I am an ordinary person who has submitted my heart to You. But it is in the ordinary people that the infusion of Your power makes them extraordinary. Your Holy Spirit gives me boldness that does not come naturally to my personality. Thank You for giving me the strength to stand against the basic principles of this world when they conflict with Your eternal principles. Lord, help me to be a watchman for my family, my co-workers and my friends as I pray for their salvation or for their continued spiritual fruitfulness. I thank You that I do not stand in the gap alone but You, my Father and my God, are with me so I stand in Your strength! And I find additional courage as I observe committed believers who stand up for You when others bow their knee to the idols of our day. Keep me faithful, I pray. In Christ name I pray. Amen.
Heavenly Father, when Jesus gave His all as a sacrifice for our sins You made available to us the free gift of salvation that is for all eternity. We cannot pay for our forgiveness nor can we repay Jesus for His sacrifice for our sins. All we give in return is a heart surrendered to His plan for our lives here on earth that will be more fully experienced in the great beyond and we do that by faith. May our hearts be set on things above where Christ is seated at Your right hand. Thank You for not giving us the wages we earned and sentencing us to death row, but instead You give us eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank You Jesus and we ask this prayer in Your name. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we lift up in prayer our loved ones who have yet to bow their knees and confess with their tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. We never give up believing that someday they will come to faith through Christ Jesus. At the same time we pray for ourselves that You would make us pliable and yielding to Your touch which can happen only as we open our hearts to You. We want to be like clay in the hand of the potter and receptive to Your Spirit’s working. The process can be painful as impurities are removed and reshaping goes against the gravity of our sin nature. But the end result makes us vessels fitting for Your honor, useful for Your kingdom, and exemplary as a believer to those we are praying for. We desire to glorify You today as our hearts are open to Your Spirit. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Heavenly Father, help us to view work as a blessing from You that gives us opportunity to participate in gathering adequate provisions for our family as well as making a positive difference in our work setting. We can overcome challenges in the workplace when we do our work heartily, as for You. We seek to be just and diligent in our work not just when we’re being observed by our supervisors or fellow-employees, but we remain aware that You are always watching over us. Help us not to resent or dwell on the negatives of our work or workplace, but to recognize how we serve You well when we work with a cheerful heart and we make the workplace a more pleasant atmosphere as well. We are especially motivated when we remember that our reward is not just the weekly paycheck but most importantly the glorious eternal inheritance we receive in heaven. Keep us faithful we pray. In the precious name of Jesus we ask and thank. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the love You extend toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. It was necessary for our salvation, so that we might have abundant life here on earth and a future inheritance in heaven. Because of Adam’s disobedience we are all born into sin, but because You gave Your only Son, Jesus, and because He obediently sacrificed His life on the cross we have forgiveness of sins and are made righteous through His divine, loving act. Though we are born into Adam’s race we gratefully receive Your redeeming grace through Christ Jesus our Lord. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Heavenly Father, just as Daniel prayed we pray too. Today we bless You, our God of heaven. May Your name be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to You. It is You who changes the times and the epochs; You remove kings and establish kings; You give wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding. You reveal the profound and hidden things; You know what is in the darkness, and the light dwells within You. To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise. In Jesus name. Amen.
Heavenly Father, You physically reign in a place invisible to my eyes while Your Holy Spirit with His invisible qualities is at work deep within my heart. Though I cannot see You I recognize Your masterful handiwork. Though I cannot touch You I feel Your divine presence. Only a God like You is great enough to mastermind the universe, yet small enough to live within my heart. Father, You have made Your wonders to be remembered and appreciated. You are gracious and compassionate; Your presence is seen and felt everywhere. I acknowledge You as the Creator of the universe and the Light of my life, for You are my Lord and Master from eternity past to all eternity future. Thank You for Your Son who came to die and to save me from my sin. It is of Jesus name I come to You. Amen.
Heavenly Father, it is only through the sacrificial blood of Your Son that my sins are forgiven. My guilty stains are plunged into the bottom of the ocean never to resurface again. All the adjectives in one’s vocabulary cannot adequately describe the depth of my gratitude for such a complete and selfless act of love. Your redeeming blood sacrifice frees us from the penalty of sin in this life and for all eternity. We thank You for Jesus who freely shed His blood on my behalf. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we are privileged to vote on this historic election day. Our country is deeply divided, our biblical values are assaulted daily, and our personal freedoms are diminishing year after year. Yet we still have a voice in the electing of our governing officials. Lord, we pray for discernment in voting for our state and country’s leadership, from the highest office level to small town officials. We pray for our godly candidates that want to make a spiritual impact in the prevailing secularism of our land. Like Joseph, Daniel, David, and Paul, who influenced the government of their day, we pray for wise, fierce, and courageous leaders who will uphold standards that align with Scripture, that will seek to change laws that intimidate or penalize believers who practice their faith in the public arena. No matter the election outcome our trust is fixed on You, both here and now and for all eternity. In the precous name of Jesus we thank and ask. Amen.
