Heavenly Father, as pastor appreciation day is this coming Sunday, we pray for those who watch over our souls and care for our spiritual needs. May we be a source of blessing to them as we faithfully uplift them in prayer and in our conversation with others. When we find fault increase our desire to pray rather than maliciously gossip to others about our leader. Help us to attend worship services with an expectant attitude and find our place of service. May our minds be attentive so that our thoughtful responses will spur our pastor on as he looks out upon the congregation while teaching from Your Holy Word. Bless our pastor’s family, provide for their needs and guard them against the many temptations sent by the evil one. May they know by the fruit of our lips and good deeds that they are greatly loved. In the name of Jesus we pray Who is the lead Pastor. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I find great comfort, peace and rest in Your many promises intended to reassure me that You are with me and will sustain me like Isaiah 54:10, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you”. Thank You for the hundreds of promises given to us through Your Son, Jesus, and the prophets of old as recorded in Scripture. Thank You Lord and in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I was working on a project outside yesterday I heard and saw a huge flock of geese preparing to make their long journey south. I am reminded our hearts are uplifted when we hear birds of the air raise their carols of praise to You. We can also be a blessing when we uplift others by raising our cheerful voice in thanks for all You are and the multitude of ways that You care for us. We want to sing praise and lift our voice expressing our trust in You even in the very midst of the trial we face. Since You keep every promise You make we can be confident that You will see us through, no matter the intensity of the storm or how long it endures. I will sing praise to You, my God, as long as I live. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, there is a real enemy that hates everything about us. We’re tempted way too often to behave badly, in big ways and little ways. We also read in Your Word, that if we resist the devil he will flee. Lord, help us resist him every single day. Grant us a firm resolve to do good whatever the cost. Above all, remind us through Your Holy Spirit, that we choose to do good because it pleases You. May the fulfillment of pleasing You be of much greater importance than pleasing or impressing those among us. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I seek You in the morning through prayer and Scripture reading I hear Your personal calling to me through the words of Christ Jesus, “Come, follow me.” Jesus suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we should follow in His steps and walk blamelessly, according to the law of the Lord. You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed so we do well to walk in all Your ways and honor You in the way we live our Christian lives. May we be a sweet smelling fragrance to you as we offer up our lives. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, reading Your Word each morning and then again preparing sermons, You reveal Yourself to me daily. When I examine the Scriptures I see just how good You are. How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth. The sweetest of all temporal things cannot be compared with the infinite deliciousness of Your eternal word. When I feed on the Bread of Life it fills me with that which satisfies not just for a day but it provides spiritual food that I can chew on day after day. May I never neglect the daily refreshing Your words in Scripture bring to my hungry soul. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, before the mountains were born or You brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God. You care for all of creation, the order of the universe, all people from past generations to the present, and You work powerfully and invisibly in our hearts. We are humbled by Your greatness and touched by Your kindness. We give You thanks and trust You for that which we don’t understand. We see only the fringes of Your ways, but that reminds us that Your power is what creates the works established by Your hands. You are my God, the Rock in whom I trust and take refuge. Amen Heavenly Father, help us to seek first Your unshakable kingdom and pray in the spirit so that we can live in victory even while encircled by conflict, danger, and evil. Shakings in this life can bring instruction, correction, and growing faith when we seek spiritual understanding. Though land, dwellings, and people are destroyed due to the hardness and evil within the heart of man, Your kingdom is indestructible. Scripture assures us that we who believe are receiving this Kingdom that cannot be destroyed, so we come with thankful hearts and worship You today with holy fear and awe, for You, our God, are a consuming fire. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, how gracious and loving You are to make us heirs of Your salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus, Your Son. Because we are born of Your Spirit, washed in the blood of Jesus and and living by faith we are assured of eternity in heaven. In Your great mercy You have given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade which is kept in heaven for us. Everything on earth pales in comparison to our future inheritance and for that we are eternally grateful. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, when we read the story that Jesus shares about the rich man who took no thought for his life before his death is a picture of the majority who live only for “here and now”. They gather treasures that have no eternal value and dismiss the treasures that last for all eternity; those which can never perish, spoil or fade kept in heaven for the believer who will later claim their treasure trove. May this Bible teaching bring enduring comfort and peace of heart to those who suffer in this present life, much like Lazarus in the story Jesus told. May they be reminded of the joyous life yet to come where there is no pain, sorrow, or alienation? Help us to be faithful in warning others to prepare not just for this temporal life, but for all of eternity. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. |
