Heavenly Father, inevitably in one way or another we have been and we will be tossed about in the tempest sea of life. We will stay afloat as we hold onto the hope secured through Your promises in the Holy Scriptures. When doubts and fears begin to consume our thoughts help us to cling tightly to our soul’s anchor, Jesus Christ. He is our eternal refuge, our hope and our stay. We are thankful for the year past and look forward to 2019 as we walk step by step with You. We praise You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we know there is a deeper work within our soul which cannot be accomplished by mere physical exercise. Just as we maintain our bodies to submit to a rigorous routine of endurance, abstinence, and sacrifice, we must apply the same maintenance tools to bring our spirits into submission to Your will for our lives. We must train ourselves to be godly. Though physical training is of value in this life, godliness has value for all things, and holds promise not only for the present life but also the life to come. Help us to pursue this noble task in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we are so very thankful for all the blessings we enjoyed over the past year of 2020. Even though this year was a year of so many unknowns and heart aches, there were many opportunities for rejoicing and plenty of opportunities for trusting. Your mercies are renewed daily and Your provision is experienced in our lives each moment of every day. We seek You for guidance in the new year and growth in our daily Christian walk. Though we cannot know the future we can have assurance of Your faithfulness because You are a God that does not change. Every promise You’ve made is true as we have seen in the Biblical records. This gives us reason to trust You for the dawning of a new year where we will once again experience Your guiding presence in our daily lives. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, You gave first and foremost as you selflessly gave of Yourself through the person of Jesus Christ. Your gift of grace exceeds human description, for the far-reaching effects in our lives is truly indescribable. It’s too wonderful for words, but it brings unspeakable joy and glorious hope that makes our spiritual journey so worthwhile. We receive Your indescribable gift that brings forgiveness for our sins and reserves for us a home in heaven for all eternity. Thank You, Father, In Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we take comfort in the words of Paul as we journey here below, “Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” May we not lose sight of the eternal perspective in this new year. Help us to fix our hope and cast our vision beyond that which we see with our eyes, to that which the Spirit is doing within our hearts. Through Christ we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Jesus who modeled the supreme example of humility, when He chose to be born of a simple virgin youth, to be fathered by a young Jewish carpenter, and to be delivered in a smelly setting among noisy, dirty and loud animals. You selected an angelic host to declare the good news of Christ’s birth not to the town mayor or gate keeper but to the lowly shepherds, a despised people at that time. We want to humble ourselves in Your sight, O Lord, so that You might lift us up in due season to be blessed and sanctified by You, that is our prayer. Amen. Jesus, thank You for clothing Yourself in flesh and making Your home among Your own creation. You are both God and Man, completely divine and completely human. Rather than coming to us only through written precepts and the revelation of Your Word, You came to us through a Person’s life, something people could tangibly see, physically grasp and personally identify with. You revealed the divine nature and perfect will of the Father through the Person of Jesus Christ. Grace flows through You in those whose lives are spiritually transformed and the lives of those who experience miracles and healings. Thank You for emptying Yourself and taking the nature of a servant as You walked in truth and obedience, knowing that it would lead to death on the cross. We praise You, Jesus, for You are exalted to the highest place. We believe with joy-filled hearts that You became flesh and lived among us, and You are indeed full of grace and truth. Glory to God in the highest! Amen. Heavenly Father, even as You spoke through the angel to the shepherds when Christ was born you still speak today. Much of the Christmas celebration is like noisy gongs and clanging symbols because it lacks the main story of the Christ Child. As we contemplate the Christmas story young Mary is a prime example of one whose yielded heart withstood the ridicule and awkwardness of her special role in the miraculous conception and birth of the Savior of the world. Help us to tune out the noisy gongs and join Mary, the mother of Jesus, who submitted her whole heart to God when she responded to the angelic messenger, “Be it unto me according to Your Word.” Through her obedience we welcomed Jesus, our Saviour and Redeemer into the world. Thank you for sending Him, Father, and we thank You, Jesus, for coming. Amen. Heavenly Father, the angels’ announcement to the shepherds is the same announcement heralded in the hearts of men and women, boys and girls who choose to accept Christ as their Lord, “A Savior has been born to you.” We set Him apart in our hearts from the common, ordinary things of life, for He is the Master of not only the universe, but He chooses to reign in our lives. We’re so grateful for His completed mission on earth where He was rocked in a holy cradle, ridiculed on a hostile cross and restored through His Heavenly coronation. “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace!” dwell in our hearts we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we are days away from celebrating the Messiah's birth, for the Christian, it is a joyous time. The birth of Jesus, over 2000 years later, continues to fill the hearts of Your people, both young and old, with joy and excitement. But this baby is not like any other baby since Jesus was born to people from every tribe, tongue and nation. “In Him the fullness of the Creator dwells completely. On Him the world pins its hopes and dreams. Through Him we have access to You, our Father. To Him we offer our praise and thanksgiving. For Him we seek to do His work in the world. About Him we want to tell as many people as possible. With Him we reach out to others, offering them what Jesus came to give – forgiveness and peace with God!”* Truly, it is Good News for all the people, that Jesus came to seek and to save that which is lost, which includes me. Thank You for coming to earth for me Lord Jesus and it is in You name I pray. Amen. |
