Heavenly Father, I thank you for the “Daniels” of our day. Many of us grew up with fathers and mothers who not only taught us right from wrong, but modeled it daily in their relations with family and others. So many today are growing up without Biblical models or Scriptural instruction which has brought about much confusion about what is right and wrong, true or false. The power of Your inspired Holy Word reveals absolute truth and is taught by examples of people such as Daniel. He didn’t allow fear, pride, or earthly ambitions to compromise his integrity. Even as Daniel stood the test while continually overcoming the tempter, I pray that You, Father, would help us to prove our loyalty to You when faced with daily temptations, especially the temptation to just go with the flow rather than to go with the guidance of Scripture. May our resolve to do good greatly lessen our temptation to do evil. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, upon awakening this day and drawing our first conscious breath we acknowledge Your hand of blessing in our lives. Even as the rays of sunlight dissipate the vast darkness we’re reminded of Your victorious power that melts the clouds of despair replacing them with renewed hope. Enable us to look beyond the unwelcome, trivial frustrations of our day that lead to whining and complaining, instead of being joyful and thankful. We, with absolute intention, choose to rejoice and be glad as the blessings unfold throughout this day amidst the bothersome and undesirable circumstances of our present day. We must keep calm and carry on until hindsight reveals to us how You were orchestrating events in our life to help build character, patience, understanding, and growth in our faith walk. It’s all part of Your overall plan for our lives so we want our “hearts to unfold like flowers before You opening to the sun above, as we join the mighty chorus…ever singing, marching onward, victors in the midst of strife” for we serve a victorious Saviour. Amen. Heavenly Father, we desire that all our ways would be steadfast in obeying Your decrees. In a day’s time there are many things to be done, people to see, goals to meet, places to go, and on and on the list goes. It’s easy to lose sight of our stated goal of obeying You in all matters since we’re daily exposed to ungodly philosophies, lifestyles, and trends that stand in direct opposition to teachings from Scripture. Yet Your Word tells us to remain steadfast in our Christian witness, prayerful in all matters, faithful in our example to others, and obedient to the teachings of Scripture. With the help of the Holy Spirit we will be obedient to Your decrees even as we pray for others to see the Light that shines out of this darkened world. Thank You Lord and we these things in the name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, clinging to Your Word is like holding tightly to a brightly lit lantern on a darkened path. I can’t see what’s ahead but the light shines bright enough for me to proceed step by step. I am strengthened, encouraged, convicted and challenged by the Holy Bible as I faithfully read and meditate upon the inspired words written by believers throughout the generations. Like Philologus I want to be a lover of the Word as I join with the Psalmist who proclaims, “Oh how I love Your Law. I meditate on it all day long. I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey Your Word.”I ask in Jesus name. Amen. Heavenly Father, we want to be set apart as a people who care about others, regularly expressing care to them as we follow the Biblical mandate that each of us should look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. Apostle Paul (Being led by Your Spirit) charged his readers to have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus who is the supreme example of putting other’s needs before His own. May we be more interested in giving energy to others than taking it for ourselves, for when we refresh others, we ourselves are refreshed. We are replenished as we give to others, for Your reservoir never runs dry and we thank You for it in Jesus’ name. Amen. Heavenly Father, there is great temptation to seek the commendation of those around us so that we might be esteemed in the sight of others. But there is no honor or reward in this life that compares with the commendation that Apelles received, to be tested and approved in Christ. Father, You know the very intent of our heart through each word we speak and each action we carry out. May we honor You in all that we do in the daily battleground of forming attitudes and making choices. Thank You Jesus and in Your name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as another platform has been opened up to teach Your Word, how grateful I am for those who roll up their sleeves and get involved in Kingdom work. In the last couple months I have met other brothers who teach Your truth and help carry the burdens of those who are weighed down. They pray people through to salvation. They visit the sick and imprisoned. They give generously of their resources. They take a stand for righteousness sake. They endure trial after trial providing an example for those who need to see what it is to remain faithful during times of testing. These fellow workers make the journey a little sweeter and a lot more enjoyable as we travel through to the other side. We give thanks for our fellow believers who come alongside us. And we give thanks for those whose kinship we feel through these daily prayer messages. Bless our fellow workers in Your name, Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as we diligently labor for You it is not to bring attention to ourselves, but it is to bring glory to Your name. Help us to find our place of Christian service where we can develop our gifts and expend our labors for the building up of the body of Christ. We are indebted to so many along life’s path who have stepped out of their comfort zone and said, “Yes” I will do what is needed to further the kingdom of God and bless others. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen Heavenly Father, I’m so thankful for the invitation extended to us through Christ that we can come and lay down our burdens as we take up His yoke. It is through being yoked to Jesus that we unyoke ourselves from the world and learn how to find rest for our weary souls. We also learn gentleness, humility and other fruit of the Spirit as we are yoked together with Christ. Satan is a heavy taskmaster when we are yoked with him since we learn ungodliness even while he seeks to devour us. The results are disastrous and leads to eternal damnation. But when we are yoked with Christ we find that His yoke is easy and our burden is light. The results lead to our eternal dwelling place in heaven. There is never a time that we can be at peace and be unyoked with Christ, just as we cannot bear fruit unless we remain connected to the Vine. We remain steadfast and immovable in this present age as we are yoked with You. Thank You for upholding us with Your righteous right hand. Amen. Friends, on your own, please read these scriptures: Matthew 11:28-30; John 15:4; Galatians 5:22,23; John 10:10; Isaiah 41:10 May the Lord bless you, Jim Almighty God, all the universe declares Your glory who creates, sustains, and watches over Your creation. Though the earth will someday be destroyed You created us with a soul that will exist for all eternity. While the foundations are being destroyed here on earth we, the redeemed, find great comfort and immense hope in Your eternal foundation. It is from eternity past and will exist in eternity future, with no beginning and no end! Only a loving God like You would choose to include us in Your vast plan and find delight in us, in all our humanness. You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and praise in this life and for all eternity. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. |
