Heavenly Father, You proved that death could not keep its hold on our Lord Jesus Christ, when You raised Him from the dead. The resurrected power that You gave Jesus also dwells in us, the redeemed. It gives us the power to overcome the most impossible situations where Satan has had influence over us. At times You miraculously intervene and other times You provide us with strength, endurance and hope to remain steady when we experience trouble upon trouble. When we lose our way You lovingly, gently, and persistently nudge us back to the Great Shepherd of our souls. Thank You for specializing in things thought impossible and for doing what no other power can do. Thank you that, by Your grace and power, we can comeback! In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Your love is somewhat relentless but never forceful since You give to all a free will. You come to us again and again through the working of the Holy Spirit that convicts us of our sins. But that’s only the beginning, for once we respond there is the reassuring work of the Spirit that reminds us that we are no longer condemned but saved through the sacrificial death of Jesus who died in our place. We appropriate Christ’s redemptive work on our behalf and receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life in heaven. Thank You for Your marvelous provision and wondrous love on our behalf. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You make it possible for us to move from defeat to victory with Your many provisions and promises revealed throughout Scripture; the victory verses that show us how to be strong in our weakness, how to exercise self-control in temptation, how to trust instead of doubt, how to be consoled in the midst of our sorrow. And in our death we find life everlasting. You are truly our all in all! So we look to You for victory as You supply everything we need. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Father, we know that Satan is a thief who “comes only to steal and kill and destroy” and millions fall victim to his enticements. You created us to have an emotional desire for physical and sexual intimacy and in Your perfect plan it is to be fulfilled in a marriage covenant. Knowing our inclination to sin, help us to carefully lay boundary lines to keep us from feeding lust since it can spread like gangrene. Forgive us where we have resented, ignored, or disobeyed Your truths in this area of our lives and help us in dealing with the consequences of our disobedience. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, it is commonly tempting to understand You in human terms and measure your worth such as Isaiah prolifically depicts in his prophetic book. When he describes the means by which we, Your created ones, go about measuring one’s abilities it falls enormously short of what You, in Your divine nature, have done and what You will do. We are unable to understand or appreciate all that You do because we are the finite created ones and You are the infinite Creator. There is nothing and no one who can compare with You. You are the most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious! It is Your great name that we praise! In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, help us to learn Your commands, apply them to our hearts, and carry them out in our daily actions. We desire to be obedient to You and bring our children into a faithful relationship with You and fruitful service for your kingdom. We love You with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our strength. May our devotion bring honor to You and witness to others of our fervent commitment to serve You all the days of our lives. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, yesterday as I was on the road delivering eggs, I was listening to the radio and heard a preacher delivering a message that was so far from Your truth. Lord, we pray for our ministers of the Gospel; that they will preach the unadulterated truth from Your Holy Scriptures, just as You reminded Timothy through the inspired writings of Paul: “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” May we be on guard as we are attentive and responsive to the warnings in Scripture, just as we are also consoled and encouraged by the verses of promise and assurance. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Father, You have blessed us in various ways, and for most couples You have blessed them with children whom they will raise from birth to adulthood. As believers they not only oversee their children’s welfare, nutrition, schooling, and discipline, but they also have responsibility to spiritually nurture them in the ways of the Lord. We are increasingly dealing with opposition from public institutions that undermine the Biblical worldview and seek to force their outlook and behavior on believers. Fortify our young parents who model Christianity and teach Biblical truths in the home. Protect them from the evil one who goes about like a roaring lion seeking those whom he may devour. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us; through Christ who enables us to take a stand against popular culture that is not aligned with Scripture. Amen. Heavenly Father, the love and care expressed to us through Jesus our Lord compels us to express similar love and care to others in need. All who walk in Your ways must go through many hardships, but the blow that comes from such hardships is cushioned and the duration of pain is lessened by those who lovingly reach out to us in tender loving care, as they help bear our burden. Their heartfelt prayers, loving words and kind expressions remind us that You have not forgotten us nor forsaken us. Your loving Spirit descends to us through human endeavors directed toward our need, lifting us from the neighboring pits of despair and discouragement. In Jesus’ name we press on toward the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Heavenly Father, we read of those in the Bible from generations long ago who lived upright and godly lives. They were discerning and wise, devoted in their duties such as Anna and Simeon who served in the temple. So many serve as examples of those who walked in Your ways from their youth and remained faithful through their golden years. Some of their choices brought about multiple blessings and other choices brought forth great sacrifice, persecution, or even death. We also read of those who were proud and foolish, thinking only of themselves, such as Samson, Ananias and Sapphira or Demetrius the Silversmith. They also serve as warnings to us. Since we will soon follow in the steps of our elderly friends help us to store up the wisdom, discipline, and overcoming spirit they convey as they deal with the inevitable physical pain, loss of loved ones, and dependency that are a big part of growing old. It’s in the name of Jesus that we pray. Amen. |
