Heavenly Father, we want our hearts to remain soft and pliable so that we do not lose our spiritual sensitivity to hear and obey Your voice. We remember those who once had soft, pliable hearts that has now hardened over time. They no longer hear You or sense Your presence in their life. Their spiritual vision has darkened. Help us, Lord, once again on this day to taste and see that You are good. You are the Bread of Life that does not spoil. You satisfy our hunger and forever quench our thirst as we dip from Your spring of living water. The world only offers temporary substitutes that can entrap and draw us away from Your eternal pleasures. We want to remain vigilant in Your Word and heed Your ways so there is no buildup of sin in us that eventually hardens our heart toward You. We want to be steadfast and stouthearted so that we will unswervingly hold to the hope we profess, for You who promised is faithful. Thank You Jesus for living in my heart and in Your name I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we’re reminded of the important role people like Barnabas play in our lives. They give us the benefit of the doubt; they reach out to us when others turn away; they see our need even when we don’t verbally express it; they steer us in the right direction when we’ve taken a wrong turn; they model for us the reflection of Christ. I thank You, Father, for Your Spirit manifested through these encouragers who physically, emotionally, and spiritually bless my life by their encouraging words and actions toward me. Prompt me often to spread the same kind of encouragement to those whom I have opportunity to bless. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen Heavenly Father, we’re thankful for the adventures, sights and experiences we have while traveling here below. There are things we’ve yet to experience and places we’ve yet to visit, and our wish list will likely include plans that will never unfold on this side of eternity. Our times are in Your hand. In Your book were written all the days ordained for us before we even drew our first breath. May we find peace and satisfaction with a heart of thanksgiving for all the pleasurable experiences we’ve enjoyed here below, for that which is yet to come, and for the greatest eternal adventure that awaits us over yonder. In the name of Jesus our Saviour we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, because You are the true, eternal and living God I can commit my past to You, and entrust my present needs to You. I’m so glad the Word of God declares that You are the great “I AM”, not “You were the great I was.” As my issues change and my needs grow You are present to meet every situation I bring before You. Like Jeremiah the prophet, I place my confidence in You as I seek to remain steadfast and faithful, abounding in my walk with You, my true, living and eternally great God. I pray this prayer in the precious name of Jesus. Amen. Heavenly Father, doubt and uncertainty imposes fear while faith and assurance develops a calm, trusting spirit. I do not look to the world for strength or encouragement but I look to Your Word where I am persuaded that You will protect and guard that which You have entrusted to me until the day when Christ will return and take us to live in heaven. By the empowerment of Your Spirit help me to boldly stand when the world and even those close to me assault my faith. It is in Your strength and through Your power that I will remain faithful though tested by fire. May the purifying of my faith, worth more than gold, bring praise, glory and honor to Jesus my Lord and Savior and it is by His name I pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as I teach the message tonight titled, Is It Important What You Believe, I pray that our eyes will be opened and especially our hearts. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we seek to guard the truths and commandments entrusted to us through the Holy Scriptures. We want to be ever cognizant of the peril of being led astray. We don’t want to be swayed by man’s opinions and will not be if we are firmly anchored to the Rock which can’t be moved. We stand firm and strong when we, by conviction of Your Holy Spirit, embrace Your teachings and reject that which conflicts. Help us to be sober and vigilant as our adversary the devil seeks to divide believers and destroy their faith. By the grace of God we will be strong, stand united, and overcome his attacks. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, You want us to be on the look-out for our enemy’s activity and beware of his approach in the daily temptations he brings to our mind. The narrative might have changed a great deal, had the disciples been on their guard in the Garden of Gethsemane after Jesus warned them to pray rather than sleep through the night. We find ourselves much like them because we often ignore the warnings or become nonchalant, thinking we’ve heard them all our lives. Yet Your warnings and promises in Scripture are like a strong tower for the soul. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Your words are truth and all Your promises will be fulfilled in time. You are a strong tower and we who are righteous run to You and find safety through Christ Jesus our Lord. It is in His name that we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, our faith and joy do not depend upon Your answering our prayers the way we may desire, but rather the marvelous work that You have done and are doing in our lives. You’ve forgiven us our sins and You’ve placed our names in the Lamb’s book of life. We want to be joyful in You and the ongoing work You are doing in the spiritual realm, invisible to the eyes of others, but very much alive in our spirit. As we allow You to do Your inner work the outflowing fruit in our lives will reveal the changes You make within us. We thank You in Jesus’ name, Amen. Heavenly Father, we are amazed at Your creative process and marvel at the beauty of life. You knit us together in our mother’s womb and provided everything we have need of before our birth and have done so as well all the years following our birth. You will do so until You call us home and there we will lack for nothing as we receive our inheritance which can never perish, spoil or fade. Thank You for giving us life and providing for all our needs; physical, material, relational, and spiritual. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Heavenly Father, as King David prayed, I pray that You will teach me Your way and that I will rely on Your faithfulness with an undivided heart. Give me a pure heart that I may fear Your name. When I’m tempted to compromise my faith help me to remember that You want a pure heart, one that is not trying to serve both God and man. I want Your favor more than the approval of others, so help me to stay true to Your principles and reject that which contradicts or lessens the full meaning of Your written truths. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. |
